This independently ran establishment has its own unique character. The food was "okay" but everything else from the classic 50 era sign outside, very personable staff, and constant flow of classic country western music out paced the food making it on the list to go back. Many folks on this review site have said it has a "50s" feel to it and that is very true. We are new to Texas and found this place through the Entertainment book coupon application on my mobile phone. I have a family of 4 and we all got combos spending less than $18. The owner (we think it was the owner) came to our table and talked to us for about 5 minutes to get to know us a little. Where does that ever happen anymore? There is little doubt that we will go back sometime soon. Glad we stumbled across this place that seems like a little known secret.

Horrible food... Me and a couple of friend came here to ate after seeing decent reviews and looking up the menu... However, the prices have increased and the place is apparently under new management. For a 1/2 burger combo, I paid 7.49 and 50 cents more for a slice of cheese. Plain buns and frozen patty.. No flavors that stand out. I requested that my burger be rare and for no onions, tomatos or pickles... And mayo instead of mustard.... I only found out the patty was frozen when I came out and you look at the color on the inside... And it came with all the condiments. When I told the lady at the register, she said that I could to bring the burger for them to fix it. This told me I was S.O.L. so I just picked all the junk out of my burger and ate in silence and went home.. Never coming back

Meteor Burger caters to the Vintage Vehicle Community the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings of each month. My wife and I drove our 1967 Volkswagen Beetle to Meteor Burger. Owner, Scott, and his Parking Staff carefully guided us into designated parking places. After Scott personally greeted us, we went indoors to place our order. Lucky for us--the Vintage Cars began rolling in and soon the lot and restaurant began to fill. I had the Fat Boy Burger and my wife the Chicken Tenders Basket. We dined indoors in the cool after taking a window table so that we could watch the cars coming. Afterwards, we visited car owners and had a great time. Thank you, Scott and Staff, for making possible a great evening! jay and neva salser

I too had waited for this place to open, and really wanted to like it, but my first purchase - maybe my last - was disappointing. My first tinge of concern was watching someone retrieve a big bag from a freezer and deposit it under the deep fryer - so much for the advertised freash-cut frys. The meat appeared to be frozen patties from Sams, and the buns were the same. The fries were limp, greasy, and basically unedible. There was an army of workers behind the counter, and were in each others way. This appears to be a first time for the owners, and I hope they make it, but they will have to increase efficiency and food quality to make this otherwise neat-appearing establishment a go.

There is a lot of places to eat in Wylie, and I dont know who voted this place "the best burger in Wylie" but they must have not received the same mediocre meal that I received. I ordered my meal to go and sat down a watched a 30 minute show... When I finally got my meal it was in a greasy paper bag. I got it and thought this better be great for the money and the wait. It was not worth either. With a good manager and a little better quality food and speed this might be a great place. As it stands with French fry pieces and what seems to be a frozen patty along with the 30 minute wait I would have to disagree this is "the best burger in Wylie" and highly doubt I will return.

I have been in the burger business for 30 years so getting a togo order I expected a bit of sogginess when I got home. Im only 8 minutes away & when I got home I was pretty disappointed. 2 boats of fries, 2 burgers, & jalapeño poppers all stuffed into one bag. The buns were so soggy, the burger couldnt be picked up, the "clump" of fries were so soggy & greasy I didnt want to eat the first one I tried. The burger was pretty much flavorless. I suspect this is more of an eat it there place so for my 2nd try I will make sure to dine in. Waiting on my order I noticed they had several seasoned salts out to try. I will give it another try, but will be eating there & update my review.

This is the perfect spot for some great Burgers. Of course theyre greasy, and the fries are greasy too...I think thats the point! Meteor Hamburgers isnt part of the New Years Resolution Health Movement! They carry the ole time NEHI Brand Sodas! NEHI used to be an institution in the south so that adds to the Nostalgia of the whole experience! The walls are painted and decorated to take you back to the good ole days of 50s style burger joints. If the single burger is too small for you then order a double, triple, or even a QUAD!!! Be prepared for what your buying...its a greasy burger, and fries....and its SOOOO wrong...yet SOOOOO RIGHT...

The mexican lady cooking made food that grease was still running off badly. It made the bread soggy and ugly. I asked for another set of buns uncooked and she to much butter on them again and cook it again. Lol i was like wow what does plain buns look like. Lol if they took the time to let grease come of the the items they cook. The burgers would be so much better. Plus i paid $27.94 for burgers that are some what eat able. This is definitely a mom and pop dinner. That could be great. I will come back with to try the night cook. They say he cooks better. I like the oldies music and atmosphere.

This place is a gem! With such friendly folks and fantastic food, we wish we lived closer to give us an excuse to visit frequently. My hubby ordered the PB&Burger number with fries and a drink, I ordered the "Workin Man Lunch" and two of my mini-men ordered corn dog combos. Suffice it to say that if there was even the slightest disappointment, it had to have been that our stomachs werent bigger. That being said, we all polished off the entirety of our food while sitting at one of the outdoor picnic tables before my hubby and I each went back inside for refills on their delicious root beer!

Food was ok but, while i wont eat at this restaurant again. My experience with the wait staff is crazy. The lady comes out with our food and calls my name. Another group thought she was called. The waiter put our food on their table. The lady in this group picked up the buns and said this is not ours.the waitress picks up the food and sees my hand up and brings it to us. The waitress said is there some wrong, i said that customer touched my food....waitress said she didnt touch the food. Going to make an appointment with the eye doctor. Average wont go back!
