This is my declaration. A few of the neighborhood residents chose to patronize this newly opened restautant on National Pizza Day, which was February 9, 2016. The blonde bartender ignored our small group of about half a dozen of us sitting at the bar. She never took our order. The guy who was sent to lend her a hand was very vague and not very forthcoming about the happy hour prices, which had been extended on certain items for that night; but, not all. When I asked him directly and unequivocally, he finally said that the happy hour prices had been extended through the night without mention of any exceptions. That information turned out to be incorrect as I soon found out once I received my bill. The food was just average. Of course I had to try the pizza and a glass of riesling. I ate a couple of slices. And, I was not impressed and still hungry. So, I ordered a cheese steak sandwich which came at a hefty price. Really, 17 dollars for a sandwhich. It did come with fries. I guess that justufied the price. The food was just average and the customer service was very poor. The general manager Even did comp. me the glass of wine for my experience.

If you like to be assaulted while you eat then this is the perfect place for you. The place is small and gets crowded quickly, so the waitresses like to buldoze through the crowd without saying excuse me. I understand being a server can be frustrating, especially when its busy but the attitude I encountered today was unprecedented. I was repeatedly pushed and bumped to the entire time I was there. At one point one of the waitresses/servers ran into me while I was in mid convo and knocked my ID out of my hands and on to the floor . She didnt apoligize or even look me in the face. Save your money. This is just another crowded bar/restaurant in DC. Its cute, sure but you can buy pizza anywhere like come on...I will say the manager was apologetic when I called later but it doesnt matter I wont be back.

Food was actually pretty solid but we came in a few minutes after 9 and felt the staff was in a rush to leave which is bizarre considering it was Thursday night and the placed closed at 10. We sat at the bar and literally the entire staff hovered around closely waiting for us to finish each item. We actually only tried this place because it was completely empty and we felt compelled to give it a chance. With this lack of consideration for the customer and the experience it makes sense it was empty. There are too many good options across 14th and Shaw area to waste your time at a place where you wont be welcomed.

Wanted to like this place and will give it more tries. Its in a great location and a cool new building across from the trendy new Landmark theatre in Shaw. The space looks inviting and nicely designed. However once you enter, weaknesses start quickly adding up. Service is odd: nobody greeted me upon arrival. Once I found a space at the bar, it took the bartender a good 5 minutes to take my drink order even thought the place wasnt hopping. The burger was OK but not memorable. Drinks have the right ingredients on paper and look good but dont quite come together. Must try harder.

Cant say enough good things about my experience here. The decor is beautiful and industrial, the food is amazing, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, and the staff truly cares about customer service. We ordered the deviled eggs, MD pizza, the meatball, and the gnocchi mac, all four of which were incredible, the meatball probably being one of the best things Ive ever tasted. The gnocchi mac came out a bit slowly, but the manager brought it over personally, apologized, and comped from the check. We will certainly be repeat customers!

My friends and I decided there for happy hour because of there food selection, which was fine, but the poor communication and overall snarky attitude of our server negated all of our good food vibes. Also I understand the independence day/ founding fathers theme, but a table with Thomas Jefferson staring at you while youre eating is not appealing in any setting.

Not impressed at all. I think the people that come here are in it for social appearance. The food was incredibly overpriced and under portioned. Pizza is mediocre at best and the only food at our table of 12 that was decent, but for 25 dollars Id rather of Uber somewhere else. Bar has potential though, just not a lunch place for food imo.

The pizzas are creative and named after the 13 colonies. Some are a little too creative for me but others are delicious. Its a small place and will push back on seating a party bigger than four if they are busy. But they do have bar seating and a communal bar table.

Cozy place for a casual dinner in a busy neighborhood, pizza made in the authentic wood-fired oven and the pasta was satisfying, service was friendly and the old fashioned was definitely decent.

Pizza was good but not amazing. The gnocchi mac and cheese was probably my favorite part. The others at the table enjoyed the two deviled egg options. The cocktails were creative and strong!

The crust has no flavor. None. Its as if they dont let their dough ferment. If it werent for a flavorful sauce, theyd be lost.
