This place was clean on the table, but may not be clean on their food. I just had lunch there. Now I feel something hard and hurt sticking in my stomach. I came here first time with my friend and ordered beef bones - I chose them because people said they were authentic. The beef was very dry on the top side, pretty hard to chew, and pretty chewy on the other side which was in the soup. It chews like a rubber band. I felt it might be dried from overnight because the dry side in the air and we were the earliest guests for lunch. So when the waitress asked how I felt, I asked her whether it should be this way. She immediately offered me to replace it with a beef soup which she told me would be tender. I accepted. After 2 minutes, an angry woman rushed to me with the beef bone plate, yelled at me and demanded me to show what was wrong. I was astonished. She told me she was the boss. I let her know its dry and very hard to chew. Not till I finished, she picked up a glove and wanted to mash the beef with her hand on the table to show its "good". I was speechless in front of my friend. I was forced to accept the beef bone, as the boss not only threatened to use her hand to stir the plate, if I said no, but also claimed there was no way to replace it. When I told her I felt hard to chew some part of the beef, she yelled at me and said every normal people had no issue so I must have been abnormal. It was so embarrassing in front of my friend, as being yelled and told not a normal person. I left tips to the waitress who was nice - I really felt sorry for her to have such a boss. I tried to shake all the bad experience away. But felt sick and got an upset stomach when I got home. This is a place I will Never visit again. Nor should you risk your health and happy moments with your family or friends. [Thumb Down!]

Located in a newish shopping center in Irvine, it has appealing modern decor and a friendly staff (no surly ajummas here)--I can see why its popular. At about 6:30pm they were starting to get busy. We had a party of four but they wouldnt seat us until all of us were there. The place serves a variety of soups, stews and rice dishes that arent as commonly found in most Korean restaurants. It seems most Korean places are either bbq or soft tofu, so this was a welcome change. The menu isnt huge but had a nice variety--I had a hard time choosing. It was between the galbi tang and the spicy octopus bibimbap. I decided to go for the bibimbap and really enjoyed it. If I have one complaint it was that it wasnt quite spicy enough for me, even though I used all of the red chili paste they provided--they must not make the paste that spicy to begin with, oh well. My friends all liked the dishes they got and we all enjoyed the assortment of banchan they had and got many refills, which they happily gave us--not stingey, another plus! All in all, a good choice for Korean food that might not be as familiar to most.

This is one of my ultimate comfort food places when Ive had too much American food and I just want soup and side dishes. Initially I was in love with the Galbi-Tang (short rib soup $12) as thats what this place and the original location Han Yang in Buena Park), is known for. The tangy mustardy soy sauce that comes with it for meat dipping is awesome. But I discovered a new love and Ive been sticking with that ever since. The Cabbage Galbi-Tang. ($10.88) Whats different from this one vs the original Galbi-Tang is that the cabbage version has a deeper flavorful broth because they add soybean paste (my favorite!) And if youre not feeling soupy, they have excellent Pork Cutlet ($13) and Galbi-Jeem (short rib stew $13.99) I also love that their banchan side dishes are plentiful and theyre not stingy about refilling your plates. They even have a neat cart system where theyll wheel out all the banchan to refill at your table. Lately, Ive been eyeing their Bossam (pork belly plate), so I think I need to try that soon! Absolutely one of my favorite places.

When coming to irvine, you must try different cuisines. My brother had suggested coming here since we love Korean Food. The choices for noodles and broth are very limited. I shouldve ordered the cold noodles, but oh well. The service for side dishes is very limited and takes too long to receive. Every time I asked for a refill, the staff would give a face. Service is lousy. You would expect more from a restaurant in Irvine. Well this is horrible. Avoid this place. My mom is a tough critic as well, and she was displeased by the service.

I tried few times over the years. So far I tried their galbi tang, gamja tang, don katsu, sulrung tang, and yoogaejang. I would have to say galbi tang is their best dish there. I like the fact that the broth is flavorful at the same time not overly oily from the meat. gamja tang was below average but I do have a high standard when it comes to korean food in general. i thought rest of the dishes i tried were all average. At the same time, I do not have any recommendation for decent korean restaurant around irvine area.

Tang 190 has one of the best Galbi Tangs Ive ever eaten. I love Korean food and I thought this place was pretty legit. Their side dishes are pretty good too! The Kimchi does not taste as fermented, so if you prefer kimchi that does not have too much sour flavor, this kimchi would be meant for you. Ive only gotten Galbi Tang when I was here, so I cant say much about the other food. Thats how much I love this places Galbi Tang!

Korean chicken soup for the soul. Simple and delicious to warm your tummy on a cold la winter day. The broth is perfect- bland enough so you can season to your own taste. Chicken is fall off the bone tender, and the glutinous rice and stuffing accompany the soup perfectly. Side dishes are tasty and clean. Service is excellent. Ive found my go to chicken soup joint!

i have tried spicy beef, it is not beef slice but shredded beef, not so many veggies in there. but i love the soup and refillable appetizers. their appetizers taste great! we sat outdoors since there is not so many seats indoors, with umbrella shaded, it is not too hot even at 12pm with soup lol

Our favorite Korean soup restaurant. The galbi tang is the best! Gingseng chicken soup is also another favorite. We also enjoy the slightly sweet beef short rib stew. Spicy cold noodle is perfect for a hot day. Service is always friendly. Oh and you get unlimited banchan!

The food is decent to authentic Korean food. It was busy when we arrived but the wait staff were very welcoming and we were seated in no time. The food was good I had the soup which was great and the noodles were perfect. Good option in Irvine.

Korean food is great! Ordered Galbitang (Beef rib soup) at a decent price, and it was great! Rest of my family also enjoyed the food! I highly recommend Tang 190 for comfort food. And be warned, they serve many soups!
