Simply Awesome! About 10 years ago my family and I camped near Woodland Park and decided to eat at Hungry Bear. Such a neat little place, the atmosphere was subtlety bustling, the staff was genuine and very friendly, aromas were intoxicating, and there was enough bear memorabilia to keep you laughing and giggling through the meal. Now the food... Amazingly massive servings of flavorful, down home(some with an ethnic twist), stick to your bones meals, it was almost more than I could BEAR(Thought out and intended pun here:) We loved it so much that we decided to eat breakfast there for the next 4 mornings. I think it became the pinnacle of our vacation as it has been a nostalgic memory since. In August of 2013 my wife an I decided to do the trip again and the first thing on our schedule was to eat at the Hungry Bear and our memories had not dissapointed us. It is as if we had stepped back in time and we were greeted by Richard who worked there 10 years ago. We ate there 6 times on our 14 day vacation and were never disappointed. We cant wait to go back! God Bless the Hungry Bear Family!

HOW RUDE!!! My wife and I stopped in to have a late lunch. Guess what. You have to sign-in with your name and number in your party. We went in and the woman behind the counter said we would be the next people to be seated. So we waited while 4 groups paid and left. Shortly after our arrival, 3 more groups came into the restaurant. Then a man came up front from the back, must have been the host, and started seating people. The woman told him that we had arrived first. He asked my name and wrote it down, then he started seating the people that came after us. He must have had issues with the woman behind the counter. After waiting about 15, we waited another 15 minutes and finally left. If anyone wants to ask me about the "Hungry Bear", I will tell them how rude the staff is.

Something has happened at the Hungry Bear. Ate there yesterday and ordered the Amaretto French Toast. After 45 minutes of waiting for our food, we got our plates. The food was cold, the bacon barely cooked (although ordered crispy), and the french toast appeared to be pieces of bread dipped in pancake batter and cooked. Decidedly unappealing. I have a theory-am thinking since they started serving dinner, the cook defected to the evening shift and there is some little scmucky high school kid cooking breakfast. The service was really bad and the food was even worse. Give them 6 months to a year before they have new owners or are out of business. They should have just stuck to serving breakfast and lunch which used to be excellent.

I have been here multiple times! The decorating is very cute and full of bears. I have never seen a dirty mess. The servers are always friendly and they learn who you are within a couple of visits. I have ordered the Veggie Burger, French Toast, and Veggie Burrito. They are all very good and you will not be disappointed! The staff do a very good job at getting the food out hot, and responding to what you want. We will continue to come back to this place! If you spend 20.00 or more you get to spin the wheel, if you are lucky you can get a free meal. This place lives up to its name you do want to come very hungry because they will fill you up and the prices are very reasonable for what you get!

The Hungry Bear is my preferred "go to" place when Im looking for breakfast. Parking can sometime be a challenge but the Bear does all they can to facilitate this process, even supplying a dedicated (and he really is!) parking guy. The food is outstanding! The service is great! The atmosphere is bear-able. :) Now, Im a southern taught biscuits and gravy elitist and Ill stand here and tell you straight that the Biscuits and Gravy served here at the Hungry Bear will make your tongue stand up and slap your brains out! If youre in Woodland Park and looking for great food, great service and a decent price - the Hungry Bear will not let you down!

Whether you live here or you are just passing through, this is the place to be. Their breakfast is the best around and their portions are extremely generous. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a small town local favorite with an eclectic assortment of bear decorum. Ive only been during breakfast, but their lunch and dinner options look great. Their crepes are fresh and sweet, if you are looking for something hearty, get the omlettes or their massive breakfast burritos, and the Cindy Lou is a must try. You will not be disappointed if you give this place a try. Just get there early enough so you dont have to wait very long.

Good food, good prices, lengthy wait times. Once you get your seat, order immediately or youll be there forever. Do not be fooled by what they put on the menu, this is NOT scratch restaurant. When I asked about the ingredients of the pancakes, she had to check the box...oops. The eggs do taste like they are cooked in butter like they claim. It tastes pretty good but is loaded with preservatives and corn syrup, unlike the menu would have you believe.

I wish 0 stars was an option. The food was terrible and obviously frozen. The service was slow. The country fried steal had 1/8 inch of steak, 1/4 inch of fried coating, and a solid 1/2 inch of gravy. The green beans were canned, and my sons meal was two dry gross chicken fingers and some fritos dumped on a plate. We went to Mcdonalds after because it was so bad.

Holy cow! What a fabulous restaurant. Everything was made from scratch. Our server Sami was amazing. She was very friendly and made sure we had a great experience. The highlight items we ordered was the pancakes, Philly ribeye omelet, and biscuits and gravy. Coffee was excellent as well. Highly recommended anyone that loves a hearty meal to give this place a try.

It it typically takes a long time to get the food so thats expected. Unfortunately there is always something wrong with at least 1 of the meals. Todays the blueberry syrup was rancid and the bacon was undercooked. And 1 of the meals came out 10 minutes after everyone elses was served. Were officially taking the Hungry Bear off of our restaurant list.

my mother orderd a diet coke when she had finished most of her drink our server quickly grabed someones diet coke that had left, poored it into my mothers glass and walked away. Also when we were leaveing we saw a picture of a bear pooping in the entrence.(chokeing down our food as shelves and shelves of stuffed bears watched us . . . weird)
