Despite the incredibly long lines...this USED to be one of my favorite breakfast restaurants (Ive been going there for probably five years). My last few trips, however, have been a complete disappointment. Their cooking standards have deteriorated, and the woman managing the place on the weekend is horrible at customer service. It began three trips ago when my over-easy eggs came out extremely undercooked, so I sent them back. Not a big deal. The next trip, however, the same exact thing happened. When I tried to send them back, the woman who manages the dining room refused. She told me that this is how I ordered the eggs, and that over-easy was supposed to be runny. Now, bear in mind that I am well aware that over-easy means the yolk should be runny. This is how I like them. But the whites of the egg should not look like a pile of gooey snot. Additionally, the eggs usually (with the exception of the previous visit) come out perfectly over-easy with adequate cooking of the white and a nice soupy yolk. Regardless of the obvious undercooking of the food and the deviation from the restaurants normal cooking standards...the woman told me that in the future I needed to order my eggs differently. My husband and I were so irritated with her treatment of the situation that we did not return for a while. Regardless, on a whim we decided to return recently. The same woman ruined the experience for us. The belgium waffle came out crusty and hollow (which I know is NOT normal because I order this dish most of the time). When my husband asked the woman about it, she tried to play it off as cooked perfectly. I almost wanted to point out that she said the same thing about my eggs last time (which were cooked perfectly this time)...but at this point Id rather just take my business elsewhere. So...if you want a breakfast that has been under/over cooked...and then to have your complaint discredited and ignored by the woman managing the joint....then The Egg and I is the place for you! As for my husband and I...we will not be going back.

I would like start by saying I have heard nothing but good things about the egg and I so finally my wife and I decided to try it and I have given it a 5 star so someone could actually see my review. I have to say It was horrible. The eggs were this watery imitation of what was supposed to be a Colorado omelette. I was given one small slice of bacon and a small sausage disc of some sort. All for a whopping $33 for both meals. Absolute crap. So as you can assume I decided to complain. Well the owner was rude and completely oblivious to the fact that the food sucks. And on top of that only wanted to give me a $10 gift card so I could eat there again. Ha!! Not happening. So with alot of fussing around she finally refunded me. I shall never eat there again. Only the older folk seem to eat there anyways. I guess the less chewing the better.

The Page Turners Book Club, all 12 of us, ate breakfast at the Egg and I on hwy 287 in Broomfield CO. on Dec.30, 2009. The whole experience was great. Everyone commented about how good their food was and all 12 meals came out within just a few minutes of each other. I had the French Toast, bacon, and 2 eggs over easy. The eggs were done perfectly as was the French toast. The bacon was a little over-cooked for my taste, but was still very good. The service was friendly and efficient from the time we walked in the door and made us feel very welcome. All in all, we would ALL go back there again. And that is 11 senior citizens who want the best..

Went to Egg and I and got a scramble. I asked the server, Kate, if I could sub out my hash browns for a pancake for a small up charge. She said, "sure". The pancake was large, but dry and just ok. Then she brought the bill. Not only was I not discounted on my meal for not getting any potatoes, but I got charged $6.79 for a freaking single pancake without anyone saying a word! I asked the people at the check out and she said, "well, they are big pancakes so they dont let us sub it out." I work in a restaurant in Boulder that uses all natural and local and my meal would have been cheaper. Very disappointing.

We booked a venue for a Educational Seminar way before our March 23, 2016 blizzard arrived. An hour before our event was supposed to start, that venue called and said that there was no access to the building due to yesterdays snow! Panicked, we called the Egg & I to see if they had any availability in their meeting room. In one hour, I had a reservation, the room rearranged to the needs for my event, and the most incredible service from the wait staff and manager. They truly were a life saver and I will be using this venue again! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

The wait is relatively long, the food is alright, but nothing to write home about. The time it took them to prepare the food was significantly longer than anticipated, which might be due to it having been a full house. The waitress provided great service and was friendly and helpful at all times. Overall, it is an OK place. I would not wait in line as long as I did for the food I got, but if there was no line and I was hungry, I would probably go in again.

Ive driven down 287 a million times and barely ever notice the Egg and I. It is tucked away and not super visible. It is a breakfast spot that isnt to be ignored though! We had some very delicious meals - mine off the gluten free menu. All potatoes and eggs are gluten free. You can make substitutions if your meal includes toast - more fruit, more potatoes, etc. The Kale juice that they have right now is seriously, seriously worth going back for! Yum!

Perfect! Traveling for work and thrilled to have found this place. Terrific, extensive menu; about 8 different options for eggs Benedict. Best cup of coffee (except for the few cups I had in Spain!) - Brasilia blend. I went with a simple steel cut oats oatmeal with fresh berries and granola and a side of breakfast ham. Ill go back to sample other breakfast and lunch options.

The food was excellent! The restaurant was clean, cozy, and quiet...very easy to have a conversation. Service was very friendly. We werent ready to order the first time our server checked on us and it took a little while for her to check back. Once our order was in, the food was ready quickly. I will definitely be back!

My wife and I eat here regularly for the last few years. We venture out sometimes to try a new place but we find ourselves back at Egg and I regularly. Stop searching and try them. The owner is there most of the time and you can tell she takes pride in her restaurant with friendly staff, nice simple decor, and great food.

A delightful breakfast restaurant. Their food is always delicious and their waitstaff always friendly. If I had two complaints (and I do), its that they dont have enough dishes with chorizo sausage. They also eliminated the peppermint hot chocolate. Aside from these grievous mistakes, this place is awesome.
