FAKE DIRTY INDIAN FOOD - Hi, I decided to visit this place because I am an Indian and was in the mood for some Indian food. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. 1. Customer Service - The owner who I met in the front counter(older male) was horrible at customer service. I was late to pick up my order and like most places I assumed they would have it just ready and I had no problem taking it home cold since It was my fault for picking up late. INSTEAD the owner decides to snap at me and make a huge scene in front of his other customers for me being late to pick up the order. By the way the order was already paid for so I am not sure what the big deal was but he decides to sarcastically mock me in front of others. I was in shock because of his behavior. To be frank the guy is douche bag! I 2. Food - I bought a whole tandoori CHICKEN and came home and opened the order and felt it seemed like it was not a whole chicken because the pieces were cut. I descided to weigh it and it was less than 2lbs of "whole chicken".RIP OFF BECAUSE I PAID ALMOST 16$ DOLLARS for a whole chicken and an extra leg quarter. 3. Once I started eating the food was BLAND, NO TANDORRI FLAVOR BECAUSE IT WAS BAKED INSTEAD OF BEING GRILLED. These ppl sell FAKE WANA-BE INDIAN FOOD. CONCLUSION - I REGRET SPENDING EVEN A PENNY ON THIS GARBAGE PLACE because this place is a disgrace to Indian cuisine.

This place is the best. I cant function properly if I havent had it in a while. It looks kind of small and sketchy on the outside, but the food is amazing and the family that runs it is super nice. They have such a great selection of curries (buttered chicken, matar paneer, saag paneer, etc.) and quite a few vegetarian options, which includes their awesome samosas. They also give you a ton of food for how much you end up spending. The dinner combos are nice if youre dining there or eating alone, but if you have a group of people eating together I strongly recommend ordering mediums to larges of a few items a la carte and sharing them. Youll probably still have leftovers anyway. My other rule of thumb is to always get one more samosa than you think youll actually want to eat. This has never backfired on me.

Terrible Indian Food! None of the items were made anything close to actual Indian Cuisine. Peas and cottage cheese gravy sucked. It only had peas, few cheese cubes and somewhat sweetish gravy -- not the way it is supposed to be cooked. Parotha was extremely terrible. Better buy any frozen Parotha by Haldirams in any Indian Grocery Store. Samosa shouldnt be called "Samosa" by any standard. Was not crisp as it is supposed to be, but was very soggy. Again, there are plenty of frozen options in Indian stores that taste million times better. Even boiled rice sucked, not sure which variety of rice these guys are using.

Im not sure where to start. I am a student here and being from the south Asian decent I wanted food which is authentic cultural food. Probably the worst Indian food Ive ever had in my life. These guys are trying to cheat people in to buying food which is not tasty and people who are not familiar with tasty Indian food will not know if it is good quality or not. I request these guys to improve the quality of food by completely changing the standard of their food. For now I do not recommend anyone to try this place.

Look, the people complaining on this are looking for something in the wrong place. I happen to love R.Cs take on Saag Paneer, and their samosas are not like the flakey pastries in Devon but are still delicious and only a dollar. Its fast, fairly priced (you actually do get good portions), and the combo of soul food

I have both ordered and eaten in at Rajun Cajun numerous times. They have FAST delivery and courteous. I love their food in general. These are my favorites: red beans (yumyum!), fried chicken, curry fish dinner. All of their Indian sides are good. Their muffins are great too. If you want quick service good prices are too tired to cook stop by for some comfort food. I think I have eaten everything on their menu and I cant think of anything I dont like.

This place is great; I go here almost once a week. The food is different from what you get at more up-scale Indian restaurants, but still excellent. It is cooked in the style of the Indian community in East Africa. Reminds me of how my family used to cook. I highly recommend it. Also, I disagree with those who say it is overpriced. The portions are large: for around $12, you can get enough food to last for two meals!

Doesnt look like much from the outside (or the inside) but the food is excellent and the service is as good as it could be. The owner and his wife went out of their way to talk to us about the area and places to see, you could really tell they love their community. The indian food wasnt the best ive ever had but it was very good. I would visit hyde park again when i come to chicago specifically to go back here.

Rajun Cajun is a bit of a dive with the decor on the inside. They serve decent quality Indian fast food (one of the only places to do so in Hyde Park), although the prices have increased in the past few months. The butter chicken, peas and cheese, samosas, and mango lasse are good. Rumor has it that they thread eyebrows in the back kitchen, so be alarmed of cleanliness.

Why the hell is an Indian cuisine placed called Rajun Cajun. Those two cuisines are nothing alike except being spicy. Cajun food is not soul food either, very different. Curry isnt even a traditional Indian dish, it was made up for the British! It might be good food, but please know there is nothing from Louisiana in this place. Offense taken.

I love this place. I make a point to stop in every time I am back in Chicago. I swear to god they make the best samosas in the world here. It is small, the selection is not tremendous, but the food they do have is mouth watering. And Indian food and Cajun food mix very well. Samosas, chana masala, and collard greens. MMMmmmmmmmmm

Vegetarian Food This is the only Indian restaurant on the southside of chicago that taste great.. I always order all of the veggie dishes with extra order of aloo and eggplant...So yummy.. It seems like they have cut down on the spice a bit... it is still spicy, but not hot like before.. Great and fast service.. small eating area..

I got hooked on Rajun Cajun from the individual microwaveable plates they have in the student-run cafes at the University of Chicago. The vegetarian Indian food is just spicy enough and super flavorful. Their mix of southern food (which i havent tried) and Indian food makes me smile every time I walk in. Portions are plentiful!
