Used to really love coming here and I have brought multiple people here to show it off as a gem of Denver. Unfortunately after todays interaction I will be taking people elsewhere. We got there around 8 and it wasnt terribly busy. The woman running the front was incredibly rude and just made us feel like we were wasting her time. We were sat and ignored for sometime. During this time several of the surrounding tables were helped. I cant help but feel discriminated against due to our attire being prepared for the hike we had planned after breakfast and those fitting more the wash park aesthetic were flocked to and taken care of immediately. We finally got our food and were treated poorly again. I attempted to purchase pastries to go and the rude woman taking our orders magically forgot our orders and I sat there and waited as she attempted to ignore me to get the other customers taken care of. Really upset by this whole interaction. I will just be going somewhere where (clean) hiking shoes, jeans and a flannel arent so offensive to the staff.

The atmosphere of this place s great, especially if you sit on the back patio. The actual dining area within the actual restaurant is quite dark and loud. I ordered the trout and eggs, and since trout is indeed a rive fish i was expecting something quite a bit more fresh tasting. The fish was overcooked and dry and the "bread of the day" wasnt exactly gourmet. The service seems quite pretentious and it can be awkward to try and communicate requests to them. Honestly the overall feel of the restaurant was good( it had many endearing quirks), but the breakfast wasnt exactly better than anywhere else. My friend ordered the classic and the eggs seemed oily and the remainder of the dish was pretty standard. I might give it another try, but ill be trying somewhere else first.

Food was very good and the service exceptional also. Our waiter, Aaron, was super nice and suggested a rose syrup in my latte and it gave a subtle complementary kick to the flavor without being too sweet . Pancakes were delicious, as was the huevos rancheros. I would appreciate a green chile option on the huevos rancheros to give it little flair. My only minor complaint was the bacon was a tad off, like it was cooked in old bacon grease or something. Not terrible, just not quite as perfect as everything else. Highly recommend. P.S. If you havent been before, the restaurant is two-ish doors down from the bakery where the big black Devils Food sign is, under the aluminum looking area where a big sign should be.

I always bring new friends to this spot when we make the long trek up to Denver and we always have a great experience. The food is good and the service is great. However, this most recent visit on 10/01/16 was dismal. The service was terrible and the waitress completely dropped the ball again and again. I was embarrassed to have brought someone new here after raving about the place again and again to her. The saving grace was the food... Even though it took nearly an hour to get because of the service. If we return I will be asking to not be seated in the same servers section again.

Having moved down the street from this place about three months ago, Ive now had a chance to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Its amazing. Their coffee is tasty, pastries are scrumptious, and lunch and dinner fare are unique and awesome. My personal favorite now is the lamb burger, but I havent tried anything I didnt like! The staff all seem to genuinely love where they work and it shows! Everyone is friendly and helpful. Cant wait for the separate coffee shop to open a few doors down! Keep up the good work!

Lovely place; warm, inviting, friendly, and very comfortable. The coffee is Novo and handled fine, not my favorite, but solid. The food is excellent. Everything waswell plated and promoted while being non pretentious yet professional and hospitipable all the way! The wine list was small, but fine. The environment is well above average in its decore and warmth. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking good food and drink in Denver, or folks on a coffee crawl in the area.

we have enjoyed the sunday brunch but started finding a bit too crowded with a long wait time (we took it as a compliment to the quality of the food). However, Devils food introduced weeknight dinners and this was fantastic. The restaurant is not as crowded and the menu is small but fresh, local and with some unique twists. The couple of times we have been, the chef has come out to chat to the dinners and the service (especially the dessert menu) is always good

I am over it. I have been here 3 times on weekdays and only the first time did my experience last less than 2 hours. The food and tea are good but there are plenty of other breakfast spots in Denver with equally as good food and more efficient service. The wait for a table is long (which I dont mind because they tell you this upfront) but the wait for food once you order is unexpectedly long. With so many other nearby options, I wont be going back

Normally I would give Devils food 5 stars but there have been some iffy recent changes to the restaurant. They changed the menu to take off a few favorites... Mainly the breakfast burrito which was one of my favorites in all of Denver. The food since then has been pretty good... But definitely not the stellar food Im used to. I still love the quaint restaurant though so I had to give it 4 stars. Management please change the menu back soon!

Good food. Mediocre service. how can the coffee be tepid at 7.15 am when you open at 7.00? Waiter very unattentive yet there were few customers. we had to routinely flag him down throughout our meal to refill and even bring a completely new cup. we had to twice ask for water and almost beg for a menu. I had the omelette which was quite good yet pricey at 11 USD. My friend had belgian waffles which he said were very good.

Great nice, classic cafe. Everything is delicious. The Chicken and waffles are superb excellent. Perfect sweet maple syrup combine with gravy makes a great salty-sweet combo. The waffles are fluffy like a brand new pillow, the chicken has a layer of grandmas secret spices that she took with her in her grave and cannot replicate. This plate was perfect. Order this, and EAT IT! you can thank me later.

Very good location, but feel like the staff feel Im doing them a favor by letting them serve me coffee. Service is slow, and Im okay with that, but dont like getting glared at every time I open my computer. Your sign says no cell phones, thats fine, I respect that, it does not say no laptops. Pros - good food, very healthy, great location Cons - high prices, snobby staff, anti business-people

Everything was good. This place makes its own simple syrup. I added honey lavender to a chai latte and it was a dream. Not too sweet like a lot of big box coffee places. The food was excellent too. I got a homemade granola with Noosa yogurt, and a side of a quiche. The crust was perfect! There was a cute patio in the back too. It was a great place to stop by on a mild spring afternoon.
