A Zankou Chicken Quarter White plate or Quarter Dark plate leaves me with a feeling of flavor euphoria. The garlic-heavy dish comes with pitas, hummus (with a small pool of olive oil on top), pickled turnips and the famous garlic paste. For flavor, this is the best chicken dish Ive ever had. And it is among the most affordable restaurants in the valley for a filling meal. Disclaimers: -My friend ordered the Beef Shwarma once and said, "I think theres a reason this place is called Zankou Chicken and not Zankou Shwarma." -Also, the Zankou Chicken in Tarzana is NOT as good - different owners, lacking the quality. It is because of the Van Nuys location that I wear my Zankou Chicken shirt with pride.

Good flavorful food at reasonable price. Quick service. Vegetarian friendly. I was glad to find this place right along 405 on my way up from San Diego to San Jose. I used to eat at Zankou chicken in Pasadena while I lived there. It was very good back then. I decided to stop by here for lunch with my family. We ordered a falafel wrap, falafel plate, hummus and muttabal. Asked for Garlic paste when I got my order. Cashier hesitantly gave me some with warning that next time I should order along with the food. (Just FYI). I was told that there were no other sauces. Not very happy with that. Regardless, the food was good. I would definitely plan to stop by here for lunch if I am nearby.

The chicken really is amazing. The other meats are good too. The garlic paste is delicious and mild. I am not a big fan of garlic but I could eat that paste every day and never grow tired of it. Meals come with lots of nice Middle Eastern sides, good pitas and rice too. Ive always left here very full and very happy. It is typical pricing for L.A. casual sit down dining (the place is actually counter service), so it is not the usual bargain that you find at a casual Mediterranean place. A full meal can easily cost over $15 each, but you get a lot so not bad overall.

Cheap Delicious Parking sucks! Nice staff Cant go wrong with zankou Its fast, they have everything, the chicken is always juiced and perfect. And if its not say something about it lol Ive gotten the falafel which is ok. The hummus, yumm Basically all the salads lol The chicken pita is great Beware of the garlic spread, only to be eaten if you will talk and or kiss no one lol But its soooooo goood You get what you pay for :) You can feed a family with a meal for like $25 which is great. The only bad thing about this location is the parking situation.

Have been visiting repeatedly this Zankou Chicken for more than 10 years. People at the front desk are always very welcoming, answer any questions you may have, and always in my experiences (alot) have never gotten my order wrong. Great employees, Waiting times after ordering always minimal. Will always be back!! Getting into the plaza via car ll be honest has always been a bit tight entering driveway but nothing out of the ordinary! 5/5

I have been coming here since as far back as I can remember. This is the best place to go for Shwarma hands down. If you are not so hungry get a sandwich or two but if you are hungry the plate will make sure you are stuffed. The chicken is really good but you need to wait a while but its well worth it. Everything from here is good and it has always been that way. My favorite is the beef shwarma plate.

I love zankaou chicken the food is always fresh and tasty!!! You must try the chicken tarna wrap its garlicky flavor mixed with chicken and tomatoes wrapped in pita bread is always good!!!! I love it I go there everyday for lunch, there shish cabobs are also good although they could try to be a little friendlier they make up for it with there outstanding lebaneese food!!!!!

I have eaten here twice now and will continue to come back. Both times were delicious. No problems. The first time I got a plate with lamb. It was Really tender and good. Big portions. I didnt finish it. Ate the rest later. Second time I got something smaller and less expensive. A chicken pita wrap. Also delicious. Didnt quite fill me up, left me wanting more.

zankou very much to this never changing (and we dont want them to) chicken and shawarma joint. now ubiquitous, but welcome, their legendary garlic sauce is not for first (or even first year) dates, and several days later, people may ask you "did you just have garlic", but that is a small price for the flavor explosion that defines this friendly and smart chain.

This restaurant has been at this location for years. We have been going here for as long as I can remember. We always order their chicken with a side of rice because it is so delicious and moist. Their kabobs and side dishes are great also. You cant go wrong eating here.

Awesome and fast mediteranean food, was perfect to pop into while staying at the Hampton Inn next door. I was very surprised by how delicious the chicken wrap was (the roasted chicken they use is incredible), and I look forward to the lule kabob for dinner later.

Great Greek/Mediterranean place in the Valley. A lot of typical Greek fare, but their garlic sauce and garlic butter are amazing. I typically go for the chicken or beef plate, you get a lot more food. Pretty good pricing for the amount of food you get.

Ive always been afraid to try this style food and i couldnt have been more impressed. Not a huge fan of all the veggies piled under the meat, but man was that meat good! Its a little pricey but its overall a pretty good value at $11 for a plate.

excellent rotisserie chicken. you really wont find any better. plastic seating and wood paneling does not make this place the location for a romantic date; you go for the chicken. service is quick, counter service.

THIS IS THE BEST FOOD ANYWHERE .This is my absolute favorite place to eat. The food is amazing, service is great and the fastest food Ive ever had anywhere. They have never got my order wrong either. LOVE IT

Food is always fresh at Zankou. The kabobs come straight off the grill and are always perfectly seasoned. The one downside to this place is parking is horrible and its always crowded during lunch hours.

the best grilled rotisserie chicken in los angeles if not in the u.s. this place has many copycats but none come close to the original. try the garlic sauce - it is a revelation!
