My review is overdue-we came in January shortly after Good Bird had opened near the new mall in Longmont. We came on a friends referral who also had a toddler so we thought it would be an excellent family place. (My friend hadnt mentioned she had gotten take out!). Our first visit was not good; somebody skipped us and then did not tell the truth about it. I worked at a restaurant for 7 years and if you make a mistake, own up to it. The female floor manager and a server were making all kinds of excuses as we watched many other customers who came in after us get their order taken and food arrived before we even ordered. We had a hungry toddler on our hands and nothing was comped. The food, when it arrived, was good and the kids meal was excellent. The next day I realized I left my sippy cup there-ah! I would have to return as it was a special one for my daughter. As soon as I walked in the same female manager came up to me and said she was so sorry, that wasnt their best last night. She wasnt sure what happened but she would love to make it up to me. She gave me some free meal tickets and went to look for the sippy cup that the other manager had put aside last night. She couldnt find it but said she would call me when he came into work. I was already impressed and willing to give Good Bird another shot. But then she really went above and beyond . She couldnt find the sippy cup so she went to Target and bought me a new one!!!! Truly a case of standing out to their customers (and probably just first month kinks to work out). Thanks Good Bird and sorry for my delay in the review.

My family took me to dinner at Good Bird Sunday evening for my birthday, it was my choice. We arrived about 5:45ish and even though several tables were empty we were told we would have to wait. We were seated by the wait station on the far side of the bar and it was pretty noisy with their activity. Our waiter took our order and when our food arrived we were missing items: biscuits. Our waiter told us the biscuits would be out in 8-10 minutes, however, the person that appeared to me the manager on duty came and told us that it would be 15 minutes. People that were seated after we arrived were served biscuits before we were. Many of at the table ordered chicken tenders and they tasted like they had been shipped in on a truck and frozen. Our waiter told us that part of our meal would be comped but it wasnt.Someone else delivered a dessert instead. While waiting for all the parts of our meal to arrive I looked around and counted 7 tables empty but the waiting area was bursting. My son and daughter in law ordered the strawberry lemonade drink and it was super sour. Our whole experience was not good at all. I dont expect this from the Big Red F. They know food and usually do a great job. I expected that again. One of my co-workers went to dinner there a couple weeks ago and said she would not go back. I dont think we will either. Its a shame.

Much to our surprise, the new Post location on south Broadway wasnt busy at all on a Monday right before happy hour! We got there super early because we were expecting a wait but they got us right in and we made it just in time for happy hour specials, thank you stars for aligning! We ordered a bunch of happy hour goodies like the crispy pork, brussel sprouts, wings and of course, deviled eggs because you cant come here without trying it out. Beer cans are $3 during happy hour which runs 4-6 as well so props for affordable beer. We were so full from happy hour food but wanted to try the regular menu offerings even if it meant just having a bite or two and taking the rest home. The fried chicken sandwich was good but not out of this world. It was a bit bland and the sandwich itself could use a little suping up. The sweets and beets side was my favorite with roasted beets and sweet potatoes with a whipped goat cheese and pesto, be still my heart! If youre looking to catch up or be able to hear someone clearly pass on this place. It is LOUD. Besides the bland fried chicken sandwich that is definitely my biggest complaint about Post. But even so, I will definitely check this place out again for brunch or when we have some nicer patio weather.

We were hoping for a great chicken place in Longmont and it looks like we are going to have to keep looking. 1. Nearly $50 for 10 pieces of combo chicken (6 fried and 4 rotisserie) and what they call two large sides (pint container) 2. Chicken pieces were small - actually get larger pieces from King Soopers or Sprouts 3. Mash and Beans were acceptable - but not worth the price they are charging. 4. Presented a Gift Card for the "Big Red F" Restaurant Group which GBK is a part of as well as being part of Post Brewing Company and was told that they dont accept the gift cards. 5. Sign in the lobby indicated that you can download the App by sending a text - message returned was "Available soon" Overall - King Soopers Fried and KIng Soopers or Sprouts Rotisserie were at least on par if not better than Good Bird Kitchen and the sizes of the chicken are larger while the price is a fraction of the restaurant. I will be surprised if after the initial newness of the restaurant wears off if they will be able to maintain enough in sales to be profitable and keep the restaurant successful. Personally - the newness wore off with our initial visit and will not be a return patron.

Great place. Great environment and love the rustic sort of feel inside. I love that there is an outside patio with shade and bistro lights. Food was tasty and different but something about the food just didnt have that WOW factor. I think for me, they should just stick with the Louisiana style food OR go with soul food. Man I love soul food. Anyway, the lunch set up was kind of odd. Right when you walk in, there are two cashiers that take your order... But on a really busy lunch day, that line to take your order could potentially go out the door. The cashiers also stand right beside this really awesome bar but over half of the bar is not available for people to sit and have a drink. Anyway, I posted this review because I know this place is new and I believe its a much better place than what was here before. And I know that with being a new restaurant, it may take a minute to get things into high gear. We will definitely come back and try their brunch and dinner, and I would love to hang outside on the beach chairs with a chilled cocktail.

Offers a great variety of fried chicken and other options along with several beer and alcohol options. They do offer a mimosa and bloody Mary bar (we were there on a Sunday but assume its also on Saturdays). Didnt try it but they have a ton of garnishes (including bacon) for your bloody Mary. Had the Brussels sprouts to start. It is a good sized portion that can be shared by 4+ people. Some were charred (just the way I like them) but none were burnt. The white meat fried chicken plate is a breast and wing along with a side and cheddar biscuit. The chicken was fried well with a crispy outer and juicy inside. The biscuit was very good and comes with a side of apple butter. I chose the collard greens for my side, which have some kick to them and also have pork shoulder pieces. Did I mention the fried chicken is gluten-free? Very few places offer that and this is why my wife hopes The Post opens a location in Denver sometime soon. Good service, fun ambiance and a meal worth coming back to Longmont for.
