De La Hacienda had absolutely the greatest taco that my wife and I have ever had! The fish taco came with practically a WHOLE avocado on it! The ingrediants were very fresh, and the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. For a very low price, we had a lunch that we will never forget; a perfect compliment to our beautiful time in Santa Cruz. We will definitely be back!

Dont mess around, just get the Chile Verde. Your tastebuds will thank me. If you want a real treat, get the Chile Verde in a corn quesadilla. For fans of Tacos Moreno, there is some familial connection between the people that own and operate Taqueria La Playa and Tacos Moreno. The recipes are the same, the food is every bit as good, and the lines are a lot shorter.

De La Hacienda serves up portions of beef, chicken, and oh so sweet pork burritos and tacos. My vegetarian choice burst with flavor using great beans that were not overly starchy, no rice (less bulk, luckily) and greens to bring out the wonderful salsa they offer, which like another review states: Is the best ever. The price is right too. Did a take-a-way option.

We drove from SF to visit Santa Cruz and came across this restaurant. Lovely corner shop with excellent food and great service. Looks like a great family team in the kitchen. My wife says the crispy vegetarian tacos were the best shes ever had. My delicious beef burrito was so huge, I couldnt finish it. Great place and not far from the Boardwalk.

Being originally from Watsonville, coming to Santa Cruz really left me wanting more when it came to Mexican cuisine. However, with De La Hacienda I have never been disappointed! The super burrito de asada is my go-to, and that salsa! O.M.G...best one Ive had in ages! Dont tell my mom, but it might even rival her recipe. Highly recommended!

I was traveling and based on the reviews I decided to go. No horchata thats a must, place was clean and food came fast, decent dining size area that can seat 4 people per table. Burrito with el pastor, meat was hard in some bites, and was kinda dry. All and all met my requirements but not the best Ive been to.

This is the best Mexican food in town! They have the best salsa that comes in a squeeze bottle and their Al Pastor is insane! Everything is good but their Tortas are my fav. Alex and his whole family are super cool. I eat lunch there a lot and watch people play basketball across the street in the park.

1. Their veggie burrito is amazing! Most places remove the meat and give you the normal filler, here they give you slices of ripe avocado. 2. Their Carnitas are on point. They are crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside 3. Best salsa in town!!!
