I understand we came in a little before closing, an hour, but wow. Talk about the bums rush. We were her 3 minutes. One person served us water, one person served us soda, another served us chips and salsa. We joked "how many servers are we going to have?" Thats great though, 3 minutes and all the prep is done. EXCEPT in the next 4 minutes 4 different people came up to us and asked if we were ready to order. I get that the employees want to clean up and go home right at closing, but the 2 of us came in an hour before closing. Mexican food is always fast. 2 elderly women were seated behind us. We both thought, "wow the employees are screwed. These women are going to take forever. Lets count how many times theyre asked to order." 10 minutes later they have finally been asked for the first time. Maybe the employees have accepted fate that theyre staying past 9:30. I could barely find my place again on the menu before I had to look up and acknowledge another server and tell them were not ready. All that being said, I like this place. Ive eaten here before. The food is good. Im a big salsa person. Love the salsa here. Our food came to the table 24 min after walking in the door. We will be out before closing.

Was intending to go to Mi Terra, new to area, made the mistake (huge) to end up here... horrible food. Bland and tasteless for Mexican food. Odd tasting ground beef enchilada ... even the margarita was bland ...how bad is that? Everything had an "off taste" and none of the traditional spicy or expected Mexican flavorings. Service was the only thing I gave 2 stars ... even that was lacking. Waiter was amateurish and didnt bring utensils for the guac and sour cream and salsa ....had to ask for everything that should have been intuitive when serving food. But was friendly even though incompetent. Single Diner, late afternoon, hardly anyone there, I should have had excellent service and food. With the 20% tip I left my bill came to just over $35 including one regular small margarita, a combo platter and fried ice cream dessert. Sad waste of money. Avoid this place.

I love this place. Everytime we pass through Monroe, I make my husband stop there. It has a friendly ambiance and casual atmosphere - you can wear jeans and be fine. Theres also a bar side that can get quite rowdy on the weekends, which is great for margaritas with the girls. The portions are huge and the plates come out steaming hot. The home-made salsa has quite a kick, and its on the table along with freshly-made chips as soon as you are seated. With regards to the main course, my husband loves the seafood enchiladas which are covered in a creamy shrimp sauce. If you go for lunch, you can get out of there with a meal for under $6. Try the "No Name" and youll be pleasantly surprised.

We LOVE the Ixtapa in Snohomish! So we thought wed try this one - come to find out they are franchised, and have different owners. The beer wasnt very cold, brought to us in warm glasses (not room temp, but like fresh out of the washer warm). We compared everything to our benchmark - Snohomish Ixtapa - were used to frozen glasses there. The salsa was watered down, not very flavorful (its delicious at Snohomish), so we orderd pico de gallo, it looked nice, but when we dipped in we found cardboard in it. Actual pieces of cardboard - how does that even happen? The food was ok, so-so. Im guessing from their location on route 2, they depend on pass-through orders, not repeats. We wont be back.

The food here is fantastic and is only second to their service. Very friendly and inviting atmosphere with beautiful murals on the walls. They also offer an amazing take out platter which is perfect for any party or family function. One thing they do which makes them stand out in my mind so well is the absolutely perfect salsa. My god, its to die for! This place definitely has my highest recommendation!

If you have sample Mexican food from CA or AZ then this restaurant is more like and average plus one. We had fajitas, which were very good but with more oil/grease than I would have liked. Cadillac margueritas were good but I would like to see the Grand Marnier and pour it in myself after tasting it. Service was good and the atmosphere was also very good.

We have been patronizing Ixtapa more frequently lately as our usual Mexican place has recently taken a dive in service. Ixtapa has many items on the menu that are fabulous and many that are mediocre. But the service is usually consistently decent. Its a great place for the little ones as the wait staff are always playful with the kids.

After reading the reviews on this place I was expecting the best Mexican food ever.. But I was sadly disappointed with everything.. The food was so bland and the service sucked! I think you would be better off going to the taco truck around the corner.. At least you get your moneys worth and you get food that tastes pretty good..

Always great food, and the menu is so diverse, special dietary needs can still enjoy delicious food here! Atmosphere, excellent table service and delicious food! Thank you for always making us feel welcome <3

Our "Lunch-Bunch" group met in Ixtapa today and were treated to a very pleasant experience. The food was good, but it was the service and kind thoughtfulness that stood out on a stormy day. Imagine our unexpected pleasure when we were treated to a substantial discount as we left.

Im not the biggest fan of Mexican food, however my family loves it. I get drug along. This Ixtapa, does have some good food. I enjoy several dishes they make. I wish they would add a Texas ribeye steak to the menu. If they did I would be there a lot more.

Always a great meal. It was my Moms favorite restaurant and I had to come down for her birthday today and fathers day. I do miss seeing Tony but he retired after we lost my mom. He even attended my moms funeral after I invited him. Great family atmosphere.

I have been coming here for 20+ years and I have never had a bad experience. Mateo and his employees are great and very attentive. The food is always hot and delicious. They recently expandedtheir menu and everything I have tried is great!

Pretty standard, predictable "Mexican"-type food. Good service. Good parking. Easy access off highway, near many other amenities. More upscale Mexican and genuine Mexican food available nearby. But this gets the job done efficiently.
