The reason Im giving one star is because the service was HORRIBLE! The food was good not great but good. Now most Indian restaurants are not known for there friendliness nor there service but this restaurant was pretty bad! The "host/waiter" said as little as possible and didnt even look us in the eye. We ordered three different dishes, all were good, but they came to the table ten minutes apart. We had to hunt someone down for water multiple times and to ask for the check even though it wasnt busy. The staff seemed as if they couldnt be bothered. The only nice one was the older gentleman that seemed to be the bus boy. My mom had eaten here with friends, it was a lunch buffet. She said the buffet was good but in buffets you dont have to worry about service too much. Oh well, these are just my thoughts.

Used to be a good place with consistently good food. I ordered a veggie biryani to go around 4 pm on a Saturday and normally after a buffet the whole staff is tired so I wasnt expecting like crazy good veggie biryani. But you leave out chicken pieces in veggie biryani...Totally uncool. Didnt even feel like calling them back for a refund. At least make sure you are really serving vegetarian food when someone orders vegetarian and paid for it. I guess this place has grown into a multi business venture : swagat sweets, swagat pickles, all cultural and political events..No time for qaulity food anymore. Bad performance on food. Sorry for long and bad review. You guys deserve it

The food is okay but the worst customer service ever! The staff is always arrogant, moody, irritated and totally uncourteous. I ordered a Uttappam which turned out to be raw and uncooked. They didnt like that i mentioned it and returned the dish. They werent happy that I ordered another plate of Poori instead. One of the waiter sneezed with the food in his hand while bringing it to the table. The chicken that our friend ordered seemed like it was unwashed and wasnt cleaned properly. This restaurant deserves a 0 star but 1 seems to be the least on Google.

For the lunch buffet, Swagat had a pretty good selection...its just that the food was overall too salty. They didnt have garlic naan as part of the buffet, but we ordered it especially and they didnt charge as extra for it..so that was nice. Id definitely give this place a try again and see if maybe the day I came was just an off-day. The service was good and the place catered to its customers well enough that it warrants a second chance.

Today July 4th 2015 we happens to be in this restaurant. The buffet was horrible, To make the trip worth we ordered a fish curry, The fish curry gravy and the chicken curry gravy were just the same taste. The fish pieces were very cold inside, All the cook did, Just drop the fish put it in the gravy. Will not go to this place again, or recommend any one to this place. The fish curry price is $11.99. Not even worth 99Cent.

The food is good, but unless youre Indian the service is pretty awful! Ive only had dinner here. While I like the food a pretty good bit (some of the better Indian Ive come across here) its always a struggle for me to get a waiter to my table, while Indian customers seem to have constant attention. I would recommend the food, but if you want a full dining experience, not the place for you!

Ive been going to Swagat for many years and I have NEVER been disappointed with their service or food! I love their prices and the good food that goes along with it. Their naans are awesome. As are their Chicken Makhni, Chicken Tikka Masala, and all of their dosa meals. Its a great place to have some good indian food. I would recommend this to anyone! Swagat is a great restaurant.

Just wondered seeing some 5 ratings. Food is not that much good. Except chicken leg pieces (not that great too) some sweet stuff nothing eatable. Curd rice is completely tasted like 2, 3 days older. We went 4 , no body eat fully, immediately after 3 hrs we went to another restaurant to fill our stomachs. Very bad experience. If anybody want to try thats your own risk.

Good place to have an all you can eat meal for the Indian Community in the Bay Area. The management is good too. They still need to improve their service by hiring more people. They could also start deliveries at a nominal price. This would be an added convenience. The place is good for Indian sweets too.

I dont know why people have given a low rating to the restaurant. The food is not at all expensive and had a very good quality. I went when the restaurant was just about to be closed, but still the staff was courteous to take my requests in a polite manner. All in all, it is a good place for Indian food.

Stayed for a long weekend. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The employees in the restaurant were very friendly. A BIG shout out to Jullian at the front desk. He checked us in and was so friendly and helpful. He gave us recommendations for restaurants and helpful with directions.

Terrible! Unclean and smelly. Food was also pretty bad I rather not go into the details...after what seemed like an endless wait, we never got the coffee we ordered and paid for. We finally left in disgust at the inefficiency. We will not be back and thats for certain

We went late like 9:45 or so and they served Good Indian food even at that time. Paneer Butter masala was yum. Tandoori roti was real one not like bread but it was kind of thicker than normally it would be. Thanks again for having us.

If only I could rate it 0! Went in for a buffet and the food is cold! Service so bad that not once did the waiters offer to heat up the food. Paid money for not even eating! Do not recommend this place at all!!

Good lunch buffet with lots of vegetarian options. They even have dosa and upma on the buffet table, though their fresh dosa is way better. If you are not going for the buffet, try to South Indian combo.

I dont really do the Indian food. But we decided to come to this little place. The food tasted good and the staff were nice. We were greeted as soon as we walked in... I will come back again...

It is not so good. It looks like, cook and staff are south indian, as i could taste same spices and arome which you can find in south indian food. I do not recommend for north indian food.

Gone to buffet. It was better than expected. All of the items were good in taste. The restaurant may not have good look from inside as other Indian restaurant, but food was good.

Been there couple of time food is good no doubt but service from the people there is one of the worse I have experienced only giving two stars for the sake of food.

I have had much better Indian food before. I ordered a mixed vegetable dish and they used the frozen mixed vegetables for the dish instead of fresh vegetables.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Milpitas. Their curry is awesome! Great lunch buffet at a great price. Use their online app when ordering take-out.
