I dont know why most of the people giving a good rating for this restaurant. For the morning orders when the biryani will not be ready for the current day then the previous day biryani will be served for the current day.Even the utensils used for different kinds of masalas will be kept in a vessel containing water and that water will be added in the curries and i am the witness who has seen that live.Only Dosas were made fresh, not idly, vada and the appetizers like samosas were brought from the Indian super market (frozen readymade samosas) and were heated and then served so folks please dont get cheated by this taste as no one knows about the inner preparation and see their kitchen and its neatness once then take a decision to eat in their restaurant or not

Visited Deccan spice for dinner and really impressed by its outstanding proper south indian dishes with in budget near to sfo downtown. Friendly staff to greet. Ordered indian masala chai..it was very refreshing. My husband ordered Gongura Thicken (came out quite authenentic) and rotis.(soft wheat flour home styled). He loved it. I ordered kara Masala dosa. It was very big (filling) with 3 chutneys and sambar.perfect combinations and proper spice levels. I just loved each bite. Ended with yummm sweet pan ice cream. I totally recommend this place and we would love to visit again.

This place has really good potential. Lunch specials are 12 dollars and come with a lot of food. A very small establishment with not a large wait staff. They could work on water refills and better explanations of the menu. But tge recommendations have been very good . Ive had great curries here with unique spice combinations from my experience. Ive been here three times in the last teo weeks, and while the shine might wear off I think its a great addition to the Valencia corridor.

Really Authentic Southern Indian food! Orderd a dosa and went to heaven. Simple and really perfectly crispy with all the right spices. Loved our meal, including the lamb curry it had spice and a good kick to it. None of the lame western non-spiciness... after eating we had to take the sauce home, so we could keep on eating it!! It shall be our go to Indian spot in the neighborhood.

Had ordered spring roll which was a bad idea at first .!! They are frozen spring rolls and were cooked in the center. Next had ordered naan in the entree which was really crisp like papad and not soft. The panner tikka masala had too much cream, few paneer and was not spicy. So I would not recommend this place for any North Indian food.

Worst service ever in this area. Food was not great too. Expensive for the quality of food and service they provide. They have nice little area but it gets crowdy and then uncomfortable sometimes. Ordered andra chicken which was nowhere near to andra chicken. Non veg platter was OK. Avoid if you can.

Excellent Indian food, taste very alright. I ordered butter chicken at midnight, and they do delivery by UberEats (they opened until 3am), good choice for late snack. Garlic and cheese naan is amazing! The only thing is, they forgot to pack me cutleries, and it became the real Indian meal, hahaa

Authentic Indian restaurant with a ton of variety! Given that the menu ranges from South Indian stuff all the way to North Indian delicacies, its surprising how good the quality is. Additionally they are open at midnight, this lets to plan a dinner and late night drive.

Compact place, I would say one of the best South Indian restaurant in San Francisco, biryani, manchuriya and most of the dishes are spicy and delicious. I love the food from this restaurant.

One of the best Indian spots in SF. Their curry boasts a complexity that surpasses what theyre charging. Worthwhile and complete with all of the classic Indian restaurant in the US dishes.

Do not order spring roll .. not cooked properly .. plus naan not worth the price .. its too fat and not cooked properly .. may be restaurant not apt for North Indian food .

Small restaurant with a big menu and great service. I had uttappam and veg dum biryani here. Both were amazing. Had masala dosa on a previous trip, which wasnt that great.

I found their food to really exciting. Not your average, overly oily, Indian joint. Kind people. Bold flavors. Super sauces. Lots of new stuff to try!

Dosa is nice. The dinner menu is way too much food, probably good for 2 so I had to waste a lot of it. (No take away on ice cream). Quality was alright.

This place is over-rated. Picked up take-out on 3 separate occasions and have been left wanting every time. No consistency in dishes.

Really pathetic food. Ordered samosa chat. I think they served leftover from yesterday, it was cold, definitely stale. Stay away!

Daal, malai kofta and naan were great. The Rotis felt like the frozen pre-made kind but they took the feedback really well
