This is a decent indian restaurant if youd like to try Malabar food. All the food items are non-spicy compared to other regional indian cuisines. Our waiter answered all our questions and suggested the right choices for ordering. He also explained us why they had to choose a particular fish to make that dish. We chose salmon for all the fish curries instead of other fishes. All the food items ordered for dinner were good. fish polichattu -- fish wrapped with curry in a banana leaf and baked. fish moily -- fish cooked with coconut milk and mildly gravy. Not at all spicy but very delicious. parottas, aapam were delicious and went well with above curries and egg curry. Parotta was quite filling unlike aapam which is light. Also we ordered a dessert of the day. I dont remember the name. it was lengthy. Next time I went for the buffet. Unlike other indian restaurants, this restaurant opens very lately at 12:00pm. There were many people waiting outside for the restaurant to open. Buffet had around 15 items or so. Buffet contains rice, idiyappam, pakoda, vegetarian curries, non-vegetarian curries( chicken, fish and beef) and desserts( ice cream, fruits, ..) All the food items were of average quality. P.S. I would recommend this restaurant ONLY FOR DINNER not buffet.

Ive been coming here for several months, now. Initially I was ecstatic to find a place that served something different from all the other Indian restaurants. Its generally quite spicy although, if you like hot food, not overpoweringly so. The past few times Ive visited (generally once a week), though, it seems like the quality may be slipping a bit -- the dishes are a bit overly oily, the flavors are off and the buffet isnt quite ready even at nearly noon. Yes, its a buffet although I believe on Monday its a "business mans lunch" meaning they have a limited prix fixe menu. Im still rating is a 2 on food in hopes that Ive just hit the place a few times when they werent at the top of their game. If youre looking for something different, definitely give this a try.

The best food you have ever eaten. The fish curry will transport you to Kerala. No it is probably better than any food you tasted in South India. If you want something new and delicious eat here. We drive an hour for the buffet....each way. The owners are gracious hosts. The chai is tasty and full of flavor. The room is up to date and richly colored. This is not a hole in the wall, it is a nice place. Lots of families are here probably to get a taste of how they wished their mom cooked.

Only place where you can get authentic Kerala food in Bayarea. Try Kerala Beef curry/fry, appam, tapioca. Buffet is also good option to sample Keralan menu. Bar is rather costly - it costed me $50 for a bottle of red wine. I hear reports that the taste is not very consistent - sometimes very good; sometimes mediocre. I personally dont like their fish curry - they use Salmon which is not very authentic; also they use tinned coconut milk and that too tastes artificial. So dont get both.

Despite being a non mallu, I know mallu cuisine pretty well having grown up near kerala and having a lot of malayali friends. After reading the rave reviews everywhere I went to red chillies with great expectations. The buffet was a horrible joke. The best item in the buffet was paneer tikka masala!!?? (kerala cuisine, really?) .....and I was salivating thinking about egg curry, biryani ,crab masala ,ghee rice ,shrimp curry etc none of which were on the buffet.

As I drove past this place I figured why they claim to be authentic Kerala cuisine place, the building from outside looks like a small bungalow. I was initially a bit disappointed since they were not serving ala carte but just the buffet. However the disappointment was soon gone because the food did justice. The kappa (tapioca) and meen curry (fish curry) was fabulous. I liked the puttu but it missed the kadala curry. Overall the food and ambience is too good.

Absolutely awesome Kerala food! Missing Kerala food? This is the place you should be heading to. I think this place serves the most authentic Kerala food in south bay area. The buffet spread is pretty good too. Avial, thoran (porial), moru curry, kappa and fish curry etc tastes pretty much like home made food. Also their beef side dishes are something not to be missed! Ive been visiting the place with my family for several months now.

As said in other reviews, this is the only place in Bay area serving authentic Kerala cuisine. The Paratha & beef fry/Ularthiyathu, kappa (tapioca) & malabar fish curry are out of the world (or rather as my friend put it: exactly like home made food). Please keep in mind that beef and malabar fish curry is really spicy so dont get them unless you can handle spicy food. Me and my friends visit this place on almost a weekly basis!

I like the place in which it was well organized and very clean on the inside. Plenty of parking and spacious on the inside. The food was good and some dishes were okay. The grilled king fish wrapped in banana leaf was okay. Beef roast was good. That was selected off menu. Veg curry and palapam was good. I enjoyed the mango Lassi however it is very filling probably better to split it with someone so you can eat more food.

I dont know about food and service but owner does not entertain if your are a single customer. Looks like he needs bunch of customers in sizeable numbers to make lumpsump money. Nothing wrong. I thought of taking my family some other day. Now I am planning not to. I too have 100s of good place to eat. There were seats available when I visited. One secret the owner should know is word of mouth helps his business.

Not that great. The sauces seem to have too much oil in them. If you only like white meat, make sure you ask upfront first. Dont make the mistake I made, and dont expect them to cancel your order after you have placed it. All I was told was "its too late, its almost finished". No offer to remedy the situation, and based on that alone is why I scored it so low. Plenty of other businesses around.

Great place for Malabar style food, buffet is usually average for me, as I dont hail from Kerala. But the taste f the food si unique and I would suggest dontt go for buffets and order stuff off the menu. Malabar chicken biryani gave a new meaning to biryani after eating most of the signature biryanis at Paradie Biryani, Hyderabad Dum Biryani and Biryaniz

Great option for indian non-veg lovers, even if you hate the taste of coconut. Their fish cutlet was awesome! And their Appams are the authentic ones and we couldnt hold ourserves from ordering twice again. Heard their grilled shrimp is their best but havent tried it yet. Overall, a healthy competition to other south indian non-veg places in bay area.

Not worth for the cost. They served special meal as onam sadya and priced at 25$ per person. Hardly there were any varieties worth 25$. Neither starters nor deserts were served and had to pay 25$ for main course only. They had over priced lunch meal and would not recommend this restaurant as you can find better food at a lower cost.

Tasteless, expensive and awful service. If you are not from Kerala, dont even think of this place. One of the most expensive buffet places in the bay area with tasteless stuff and absolutely non-existent service. I cant help but think that some if not most of the reviews here are from fake reviewers.
