Finally took my family to Veda for dinner and they loved it--The atmosphere, the food, and the service were all incredible. We had a reservation for 7 but got there a little early and made it for the last half hour of happy hour. The bartenders were so friendly and quick to get us drinks, chicken murmuri rolls (My favorite!) and ragda patties. We ordered a lot of different foods for dinner starting with kebabs followed by the chicken biryani, chicken lababdar, paneer, tofu, lamb roganjosh, and a bread basket. The chicken tikka and tandoori kebabs were amazing and perfectly cooked!!! My family and I had such a great time and enjoyed all of the food we ordered and will be back to try out even more of their menu options. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you want the closest to homemade Indian cooking there is in Philadelphia!

The service was friendly and well timed! My friend and I were able to order our meal without feeling rushed and we checked on by the staff throughout but it never felt overbearing. I had a new cocktail that had been placed on the menu that same day and I had a chance to speak to the owner about it directly. The cocktail, the Manju, is whiskey based and the owner offered me the space to share with him my thoughts--all great because the drink was delicious--and he shared a bit about the drink itself. This is a newer restaurant and the Indian cuisine was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend Veda as a first stop for a ladies night out, date spot or a dinner with a small group of friends. Very well kept restroom and the furniture was very comfortable!

Everytime I visit Philly I make sure that I visit Veda. Their food and quality of food is impeccable. The ambience of the place is so amazing that it is a perfect spot in Philly for a romantic dinner or to catch up with an old friend. My husband and i also celebrated our parents 40th anniversary there and they loved it.To name a few food items from their awesome menu- I love thier spicy corn soup, Malai Kesar chicken, mushroom Korma and the blueberry kulfi is like a cherry on the cake. The staff is courteous, quick, efficient and always friendly even when the place is super packed.

Delicious Indian food. The interior is an interesting blend of modern and ethnic, with large bright murals and cool chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The bar has a nice small area in the front. Dishes come out of the kitchen as they are made, so eating family-style is much easier than ordering individual plates. Vegetable samosas were very good, Tandoori chicken was classic, wild mushroom Korma was my favorite dish, although the chicken tikka mahkani was delicious. The chili cilantro naan was heavy on the chili (so beware if you order it is spicy). Will be back!

Very nice atmosphere. Even when it was crowded, I didnt feel like I was elbow to elbow with people. The food was delicious!! There were 4 of us, and we decided to share our meals, which I highly recommend. We had leftovers after ordering 3 main dishes and 2 appetizers. (Chicken Tikka Makhani, Chicken Lababdar, Veg. Biryani, Masala Humus Platter, and the Lassoni Gobi; spice levels all at 1). The drinks were great as well, I had the summer tea (pic). I would definitely return to Veda to try another dish!

Went here for happy hour and had a wonderful experience! The restaurant has a great and warm atmosphere! The space is beautiful and well-decorated. I had a wonderful and knowledgeable bartender (who made a fantastic cocktail--- I had the Laila, one of the happy hour specials.) I enjoyed delicious happy hour snacks too (okra salad and pork ribs).... all for under $20!! Cant recommend it enough. Excited to come back for lunch and dinner!

Had dinner there last week and loved everything. It wasnt the typical greasy spoon Indian restaurant. The ambience and decor were very modern, and carried through the drink and food menu. Loved the Veda mule. The food really blew me away. Tried the spinach and cauliflower apps which Ive never had before. Also the curry squash soup and chicken dish. Excited to go back for more.ive been recommending this place to everyone I see.

"Modern Indian" .... across the menu, perfectly cooked dishes; baby eggplant in a lush coconut / peanut sauce, chickpea in a tempered cumin - pomegranite sauce, crispy spinach w/tamarind + date chutney, excellent fresh breads, Paneer makhani; every dish is done to perfection; 100% NO OILYNESS; NO SALTINESS; FRESH; TRULY COOKED TO ORDER; delicious Indian food that is positively not run-of-the-mill.

Went for lunch. Very small portion disguised with little side dishes. Not worth the price. The soups had "emptiness". I can taste ingredients but left me wondering something is missing. I cant confirm but the broth was based from water solely. Both Punjabi curry and tikka masala lacked deep flavor - more spices and hot chili cant mask it. Waitstaffs were nice and professional. Thats about it.

Had and opportunity to check this place out, and it was amazing. Not normally a big fan of Indian food, but that changed tonight. If you go, you have to try the crispy spinach and cauliflower sides. I would go back just for those alone. Great atmosphere and staff, and food that brings the yummy. Also a very cool drink selection. Veda Mule is a must have. Enjoy.

Small portions and delicious. Good service. Great HH This time around we ordered a bit of different stuff: okra is crispy and tangy (our fav), chicken murmur rolls are just ok (could possibly do more stuffing), Lassoni Gobi tastes like popcorn buffalo chicken (for Indian food lovers: tasts like Gobi Manchurian), Spicy corn soup(just the right amount of spices)

Love the vibes at Veda! Went with 3 friends for Restaurant Week and had some delicious food. Favorite items were okra salad, crispy spinach chaat (!!!!) and chicken tikka. Cocktails are all great but Laila is especially excellent and refreshing if you like cucumber. Very attentive and kind staff and restaurant owner. Will be back soon!

Average quality of veg foods. Very very expensive. If you want to be this place take 2 hours time then only come here. I had chana masala and tofu curry in lunch there and till night it was not digested. Lots of burps and finally I had to take digestive medicine. I had to skip dinner at home. I would not recommend for anyone.

My husband is from India and we had dinner there. The food was very good with a mix of traditional dishes and new inventions. I got corn soup for a starter which was nontraditional but good and with a nice level of spice. We shared two curries for dinner with Naan and both were good. Atmosphere was great, tasteful and classy.

Veda was unreal. We went for lunch during restaurant week and had the best three course meal! Not only was it delicious, but the staff were absolutely wonderful, the location is great, and the vibe in the restaurant was outstanding. I would highly recommend this establishment! Get the cauliflower app, you wont regret it.

Nice Indian food. All the appetizers are delicious and the main course was tasty, generous and not overly hot, spicy or greasy as in other cheap Indian restaurants. Great decor, fine and brightly lit space. Went there for lunch during restaurant week and it was a steal. Would definitely consider going back.

Food & Service were incredible. Will definitely come back. My dad said he would commute from new jersey & pay for parking just for the Okra salad. Said it was the best okra he ever had. Loved my shrimp entree and all the appetizers. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The Kulfi (dessert) is fantastic.
