We went here about a year ago and had the most delicious food. We didnt go back again as we had kind of forgotten about it and went back recently as we were in the marina and remembered how much wed enjoyed it. It was a Saturday afternoon and the weather was beautiful and we sat outside. The view was great and the live music nearby was great, people dancing - it had a fun atmosphere. Our waiter seemed nice and we ordered our drinks and food. We started with Barrata and it was delicious - I work in Italy a lot and it was good Barrata. The main courses arrived, my salad came absolutely slathered in dressing after I had asked for none as I often dont like it, or theres simply too much of it. I couldnt taste the salad, just the strong taste of this dressing. My husband had ordered chicken, it was disgusting. The cheapest cuts of knuckle chicken that was riddled in fat. It looked like the cheapest street food chicken you could find. The waiter asked if our food was ok - I said I had asked for no dressing and it had loads of dressing so he took it away and replaced it saying nothing. My husband didnt eat his food as there wasnt much accompying the chicken and that was revolting. At the end the waiter asked if he didnt like it and my husband said it was poor quality meat and not what hed expected. He still said nothing and gave us a bill. For this and two beers each, with the tip - pretty much $100. Complete waste of money. We eat out at least a couple of times a week and never, ever complain. This was a terrible experience and we were annoyed with ourselves for tipping the waiter 20% out of habit when the waiter did nothing to put anything right. We will never go there again. Beautiful view, terrible service/food. There are too many other great restaurants around which serve better food and they care if you enjoy it.

Dont mistake me, I understand the positive reviews. For the most part, the food was pretty decent and the location is excellent. However, when you inform the management that the mussels are off, tasting like they were either undercooked or had simply gone bad, I didnt expect the response, "Its fresh," followed by an avalanche of excuses. Nay nay, sir, Ive had fresh mussels before and they dont taste like they were scraped from the bottom of a boot at a roadside cafe outside of Calcutta. Suffice it to say, this has turned the situation away from me simply giving a heads-up to the management into a one-star review since this is something that they apparently deem acceptable. UPDATED 2017/07/10 To add to everything, it appears they also went through the extra effort to overcharge me for the undercooked (or simply rotten) food they serve. Honest mistake or a deliberate attempt at credit card fraud? I suppose well find out.

Started out poor - made my money - and have always enjoyed a good meal - but surely appreciate how hard it is to make money - so you dont want to waste it - over my life, I have dined at the best places around the globe - and certainly know good Italian here in LA - from Dan Tanas to Guidos to Antica Pizzeria (knew Guido when he was Dans MD! and Peppi when he was still on 3rd)... This place - Sapori - the owner just doesnt care - he gets a lot of tourists in his location and he just keeps replacing his trade. Bread was old and stale; food was just horrible... All of our meals... And he couldnt have cared less. I have NEVER sent back a meal until tonight - but I did at Sapori this evening - A good meal is worth paying for - but this is as bad as anything you will ever eat. Did I "candy-coat" that enough ;)? Spare yourself and save your money.

Just got off the phone with the OWNER of this restaurant who hung up the phone on me. As someone who frequents many restaurants being that Im a foodie who transplanted here from New York City, I find it incredulous how rude they are to their patrons. I called to confirm a reservation for my birthday which they had no problem taking two weeks in advanced, when I called to confirm the owner said he didnt know what I was talking about and hung up on me saying that he was "too busy." This is a Wednesday night and explained that they were currently empty. Completely understand why the reviews are awful. Not worth the ambiance. Such a shame.

Three stars for food. One star for service. Management and server minus 1 star for having attitudes that expressed they could care less that the server made serval visits to the patio area however not to our table and had to be flagged down. Managements only comment "we treat all customers the same." We were planning addition orders however the attitudes did it for us. Again we had to flag to request the bill. Long wait and our waiter making several passes through the patio area we took the bill inside the restaurant to pay and received a cold reception. Will not be going back where our patronage is not appreciated.

My wife and I ate here for lunch. Good food, small portions, when we finally got it. We wanted a table by the window, The waiter told us those tables were reserved for three or more, mind you it was completely empty. Then they sat another couple at the window and with no reservation. We waited almost an hour to eat in an empty restaurant the owner heard us complain to the waiter and shood us to the waiter. Even though the food tasted good I will not be back.

Excellent food, I had the Filleto al Portobello for 27,50 $ which was excellent. It was served with mashed potatoes - and I mean real mashed potatoes from freshly cooked potatoes with butter and cream. I had it together with a bottle of Barbera dAsti. This was r e a l Italien food, not American Italian food. The service was also excellent. It was certainly my nicest dining experience in the LA area. This is the place if you want the real thing!

The food here is always good and the atmosphere is beautiful. My husband and I decided to have our rehearsal dinner here when we got married earlier this month, and they did such a good job. The owner, Stefano, was very accommodating and everyone loved the food! My family is Northern Italian and the food here makes me feel like I am at a trattoria in Venice!

Beautiful little spot on the marina with views of the water and the option of indoor or outdoor seating. The service was super friendly and helpful. A nice menu with true Italian cuisine. I had a delicious sea bass special served with great Italian spices and sauce. The beet salad was also great. Parking is validated so bring in your ticket.

Ristorante in stile italiano, eravamo inseriti in un tour preorganizzato, quindi menu fisso a base di pesce o pollo, tutto discreto e piacevole.

Generally, I like small, old school restaurants. In this case, not really. Food was generic and heavy, and the wine list was disappointing, with a few cheap and meh bottles, and a few expensive but meh bottles, so whats the point? Service was slow, despite it being a quieter Friday night. Overall, a pass.

Experience was awesome! Customer service was phenomenal, the owner/manager was SO personable and kind. I ordered the lasagna and it was by far the best lasagna I have ever had. I plan on becoming a regular here when moving to the LA area and would recommend to everyone!!!!
