This venue was high on our list for authentic, fresh Italian cuisine. The service is still first class, ingredients are just-picked fresh, but what happened to the robust flavor? Sadly, since our last visit, its becoming Americanized Italian. We dont need another Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill. The pasta is cooked perfectly, but the sauces were quite bland and the dishes that strongly reminded you that this is real Italian passion food has been diluted. S.C. residents dont appear to have sophisticated taste buds, so it seems like they are appealing to the masses, rather than being the standout culinary delight. We will try them one more time, but if the dishes are once again ho-hum, me too, Ameritalian, its not worth it to cross the valley to get there.

The food and service was excellent and this is easily the best Italian food in town. Parking looked like it was going to be a nightmare but they offered complimentary valet which was unexpected since I had previously only been there for lunch. Now, I dont care for seafood (dont hurt me), but this wasnt an issue at all here. As a trattoria they offer many simple pasta dishes that are very good. The meat sauce is excellent. For dessert we were deciding between the cannoli and mousse and asked for the servers recommendation. He said we must try the chocolate flaun, which we did, and it was to die for. Prices surprisingly werent that bad. Expect to spend only slightly more than somewhere like Macaroni Grill but the food will be on another level.

This is the best Italian restaurant you can go to. The food is absolutely delicious. I have tried multiple items on their menu and each is superb. The basic lasagna is even impressive. The service is excellent. They ask how you are doing and constantly refill the water while you are there. Very friendly staff. One of the staff members even ran after us because we forgot our leftovers! Could not have been more satisfied with my experience here. The food is moderately expensive, but not too bad. Definitely worth it since the restaurant is amazing. Also, if going during dinner time, make a reservation since the restaurant is not very large.

The moment you walk in you see the splendor this restaurant offer ! the quaint bar to the outdoor seating you see happy casual people with big smiles as they enjoy there evening . Im always looking for a restaurant to enjoy my company with good conversation at dinner where you dont have to yell. The salads were GREAT ! Lamb shank was GREAT ! My snapper was just ok , the ravioli was ok . The service is what I expect at a restaurant . Prompt ,polite , helpful ......... Exceptional Service ! Im only giving 4 stars because the food did not have the WOW factor , however this is a fine dining restaurant Im sure you will agree.

Extensive menu with specialties that go beyond typical choices for Italian dining. Courteous service that is friendly, knowledgeable and professional in all aspects. Being family owned and operated brings a touch of personal intimacy to the customer relationship not found at chain operated, production-line facilities. Open room seating does produce some noise but there is no problem maintaining a private conversation. An exceptional value when measuring the price with the selection, quality and service.

My husband is ITALIAN and this place is the best ever Italian food in SCV and even LA. We love it! Super authentic and delicioso. Their dinner, prepared by this Sicilian family will bring you as close as you can get to Italy here. The Deli is fully stocked in the day for all your coldcut, cheese, bread and dessert needs! They have fantastic Tiramisu. They even sell pizza dough to take home and make yourself. The best kept secret in SCV. Buon Gusto!!!

Food really wasnt that good. Pasta was over cooked, salad has frozen bits of lettuce in it. Clams were not cleaned and had some grit. This quality food I would expect from a pizzeria serving some extra dishes but not from a restaurant costing 70 for dinner for 2. Ive had better Italian food from stands and the Ventura county fair. I would definitely not recommend to any one that actually knows what Italian food is supposed to taste like

Great authentic Italian food close to home! A few favorites are the caprese and risotto. Been here a few times now and have always had friendly service. If youre dining there for a birthday or special occasion, they can coordinate a flower arrangement for the table, which is a nice touch. The parking lot can fill up quickly on busier nights, but theres always street parking available nearby.

Excellent meal and service! We had a delicious papaya & shrimp salad, authentic lasagna, and artichoke ravioli. The wine list has something to please everyone. Our waiter, Calogero, was just perfect with his Italian accent and Sicilian pride. The private outdoor dining experience at Piccola Trattoria is a special one. Indoor dining looks nice but it was a warm night.

Excellent! This place was great. The food was delicious, the service was polite and prompt and the ambiance was a delight. The only down-side was the noise level. It was really loud in there. Though, in their defense it was due to the place being packed and all the patrons having a lovely with their families. Well definitely be going back. I highly recommend.

I live in the area and I heard the buzz about this sexy spot so I I had to come. First impression was "wow" a real cut above the rest of the restaurants in the area. From service, food and ambience this place definitely made a great impression. John, the general manager, is a certified "bad ass" mixologist. Again, run dont walk to this hidden gem!

I used to live across the street when this place was just the Deli and I got to meet Angie Caruso a few times (owner) her food was always AMAZING so when I was in town and heard a rumor that she had opened a restaurant, I had to go. The food as always was second to none and the service to match. I cant wait to come back.

Brought our friends for the first time to the restaurant and we were all pleased with the quality of service, the employees were spot on with their attention and the food, as usual, was extremely excellent. Our friends indicated that they were placing Piccola on their go to list.

Christa, our waitress was on it! My husband and I were amazed at how fast and observant she was; we even laughed sharing that we would offer her a job if we were business owners; which we arent. Food was scrumptious had to take some of their rolls and meat sauce home with us!

I cannot believe that my office is so close to this place and tonight was the first time I tried this wonderful establishment. The food was amazing. You must try the brochette with truffle. Mushroom pasta was pretty amazing too. Definitely come back to this place.
