I just went to Mosaic to grab a quick drink before catching the bus home. I used to live at 194 Halpine Road for a year and Ive worked at the plaza opposite Mosaic for five years. And Ive eaten at Mosaic in the past and have enjoyed their menu. The restaurant was empty except for one group in the middle of the restaurant. I was greeted by someone at the front and I was given a menu. I told her I was just having a glass of wine. And then that person disappeared. I sat at my table for about 10 minutes and no one came to my table. So I left. If it were busy Id understand, but except for that one table, the restaurant was dead. Maybe I wasnt dressed nice enough. But I feel absolutely snubbed. Fran

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Rockville, maybe even in the DMV region, Mosaic is fantastic in every way. They recently renovated which has given the restaurant a clean and modern look plus added bar area. Its a popular spot for breakfast and brunch so reservations on the weekends is a must. Every dish is fresh and light. Almost every dish is waffle derived and creative. Their waffles just melt in your mouth. Service is superb! The waiters/waitresses are so kind and courteous and willing to accommodate your every need/request. I love their wild mushroom soup-it is creamy and full of flavor. Parking is adequate, pricing is great, and the menu is delightful. I highly recommend! -Sam [BOU]

I went to the newly remodeled Mosaic Cuisine & Cafe in Rockville, MD today for lunch. New doesnt always mean better! The food is still very good, but if you are expecting to have a nice quiet lunch with friends you will need to find another good restaurant to go to. It was so noisy in the newly designed restaurant that you could hardly carry on a conversation with the person next to you. I really miss the old Mosaic. I doubt Ill be going there as often as I used to because I like to go to a place where I can get together with friends and have a nice lunch and good conversation.

A bit disappointed. Ordered the Mont Sirloin with eggs and hollandaise. For touting itself as "french-inspired" cuisine, it was a let down. The Hollandaise was poor, at best, no flavor, separating; the eggs (I ordered over-easy instead of the scrambled) they came out almost burnt around the edges. The potato hash was very greasy. The ground sirloin was equally greasy, and looked and tasted like a pre-formed burger youd buy from GIant. Too bad, was really looking forward to enjoying a good breakfast.

Hands down on of my favorite restaurants in the DMV area. The food is fresh and high quality in flavors and portions. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff were able to accommodate my baby by fixing her a plate of mashed potatoes. The staff is always courteous, time efficient in fulfilling our orders, and demonstrate a kind demeanor in the treatment of their customers. I love the newly remodeled space and enjoy the full dining experience.

I enjoy their offerings everytime I visit. My favorites are the salmon waffle sandwich and the mushroom soup (sold out again on my last trip there). My wife really enjoys the penne pasta with scallops and lobster sauce - also very good (the scallops are always cooked to perfection). Try the flourless chocolate waffle with ice scream to end the experience, because you wont regret it.

Have been coming here since its beginning and always find it to be delicious and homey. Now it also has a new urban chic which I am getting used to. Its pretty with lots of off white color that makes the space feel more open. I think it would benefit from some art on the walls for a bit of color. I had the flour less spinach quiche and arugula salad which was very good.

Nice ambiance. Eggs Benedict are my favorite for breakfast. Their hollandaise sauce is light with just a touch of lemon. The only hollandaise sauce Ive ever tried and liked. Mushroom soup is rich, delicious and all together satisfying. Their coffee is a must have for me as well - just the right richness and well balanced. A favorite breakfast / brunch spot.

Quaint little spot for lunch. Had the Turkey sandwich on waffle bread. The waffle bread is basically a waffle but much lighter and crispier than a typical breakfast waffle. There is definitely an older crowd that seems to come here, but we were able to get in and out for lunch fairly quickly. The location is a bit hidden, but I think worth the search.

Wow, fantastic food, service, and not overly "trendy" if you just want a good relaxing meal. Ive heard that its very crowded for brunch, but Ive never gone there for brunch. Stop in for late lunch or dinner. Its elegant yet cozy, and if youre with interesting people youll enjoy their company without having to yell over the other tables.

We love this waffle place. Calling it a waffle place is not giving sufficient credit for the innovative and tasty sandwiches and other concoctions. Food is well prepared and very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. The place is busy and can have a wait. We visit about every month and it has been constantly good.

My husband and I love trying different places to eat. Occasionally you find a gem. This is definitely a gem. The waffles were delicious, yes, even without the syrup. The staff was attentive and very nice. If youre tired of the same old breakfast or even if youre not, you should give this a try. Youll be glad you did!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Mosaic Café. I went here for Easter brunch and the menu was great. The service was very fast and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The portions of the meals were very good and the food was delicious. Ill come back for sure! Highly recommend 10/10!!

I came in during dinner service, when there was a large group eating before prom. The service was cold and off-putting. They brought one person water, and then walked away without giving it to anyone else! Then we were ignored for 20 Minutes with no waiters coming by. Needless to say, we left.

I like this place. Their brunch is my favorite. Waffle with egg benedict is one of the more unique one I have had. Omelettes are also really well done in general, latte is also very good. Easy to park, walk from nearby apartments possible as well. Service is usually very attentive and quick.

Outstanding first visit and look forward to my next meal. Absolutely loved the Eggs Benedict on their Belgium Waffle. It was perfectly seasoned, lots of flavor and oh so delicious... It was a busy Sunday morning, but the staff and General Manager had everything under control...

Pretty disappointed. The food was excellent, however the service was terrible. I found myself constantly asking the server for refills, to take my drink order, food order, the check, etc. Very unfortunate because the restaurant itself has been redone and has great vegan options.

This place is fantastic. Love the waffles. On my most recent brunch visit I had the eggs benedict on a waffle with scallop cakes - it was delicious. I like the casual atmosphere and the artwork for sale is a nice addition. The service is fine, and the prices are reasonable.
