I was in the area for a conference and wanted a place where I could go enjoy a Mexican shrimp cocktail and micheladas while watching the Liga mx quarter finals. This place seemed to have good reviews so I went on over thinking I could casually go in and get a quick seat at the bar to enjoy my last night in long Beach. I now know this place gets packed on Thursdays. There was a long wait for people wanting a table but it seemed like the staff had a handle on clearing tables to accommodate people asap - but people would not stop coming in. In the bar area there is not much room to enjoy a game, i.e., if you dont get a stool as you would be standing in the way of the servers (who were all so friendly and awesome). When a bar Seat finally opened, I was attended to quickly by the staff and immediately my Michelada was brought to me - it was great. Their chips were freshly made and although their salsa only had a soft kick it was still delicious. When my coctel came out I immediately noticed how huge the shrimp were and how they were carefully placed in the plate with a large amount of sliced avocado for a nice presentation. While it tasted so fresh, the only thing I didnt like was the huge amount of cucumber in my coctel; as I have never had it like that before and I feel it took away from the coctel other flavors. I would order the coctel again but without the cucumber and i would definitely return here if Im ever in town as the staff was excellent (just like the food).

Despite popularity and tendency to get packed, I love this place. Dine at the right hours (before 6pm for dinner) and you can be in without a long wait. Service tends to remain consistently good through repeat visits. Food is always delicious, from carnitas tacos to enchiladas suizas Ive enjoyed everything Ive sampled. (Suizas are my favorite). I have a tendency to judge a Mexican restaurant not only for the main dish but also the sides of beans and rice. I really like both here (not always the case in other restaurants where one is good but not the other). Mix that up with the sauce of the enchilada suizas: mmmmm! Margaritas are good and kids menu is nice. Chips are good, made from scratch corn tortillas are fantastic, salsa is hit/miss depending on the batch but can be very good. Overall with great service and delicious food I keep coming back with my family of 6. Way to go Los Compadres!

We drove up from OC to drop off a family at Long Beach airport and came across this FABULOUS mexican cuisine and atmosphere. There was nothing that wasnt wonderful! The service and atmosphere the best. The warm delicate fresh crispy chips along with the huge bowl of tasty guacamole, Yum! We all ordered something different and we were in agreement it was mouth wateringly good. Nothing disappointed. I think about it all of the time and tell my friends. The only problem is it takes me about 40 minutes to get there from Mission Viejo. But, if I am anywhere near Long Beach, Im going to Los Compadres!

I dont think this restaurant would necessarily qualify as high end eating, but everything Ive tried here has been good, and you cant go wrong with frozen margaritas. Drive slowly once you know youre close because its very easy to drive past the first time you try to find it. Im knocking off a star because parking fills up easily, and I dont think Ive ever come here without having to wait about ten minutes. I know other places have worse waits, but Id like to just show up and sit down once. All the staff Ive ever had help me have been nice as well. Excellent restaurant.

There is usually a pretty long wait here, which is generally a good sign that lots of people like it. That wouldnt be such a drag if there werent only 10 spots in the parking lot and youre left with a sketchy neighborhood to park in (and yes Im white, but I grew up in North Long Beach, and thats sketchy too [LB BLVD and Market thats HOOOOD] so shut up Im not being racist). Once you get seated everything is bueno (see I even know a little Spanish, or Español even). Ceviche! Yay! Shrimp! Yay! Margaritas! Yay! Im eating good food! Yay!

Awesome, over-the-top yet rustic French decor with French music playing in the background to accompany an amazing meal. My vegetarian lasagne was one of the best lasagnes Ive ever had, and Im not even a vegetarian. I tried everyone elses food (crab cakes, pasta dishes, charcuterie plate) and I definitely had the best dish of the table. The "boobie" cake is fun to order and decadently delicious. Gotta come back to check out the entertainment. Worth the hype.

As Mexican food goes, Los Compadres is as authentic as it gets, while still being approachable to everyone. My favorites are grilled fish taco, grilled shrimp taco, and their shrimp cocktail. I find their seafood dishes more enjoyable, as they tend to be lighter, but thats not to say that their other dishes are not good. This place also have happy hour at the bar area. The restaurant gets pretty packed during dinner time.

Definately my favorite Mexican food in Long Beach. The chips and salsa are good, but make sure you get the guacamole its amazing. Tacos are really good if you like crunchy tacos. The margaritas here are great too. There can be a wait for dinner so make sure you go before you get too hungry because a 30 min wait is normal. But if theres a wait it probably means I am not the only one who thinks this spot is awesome.

The lady serving us was very friendly and the food here was delicious! The server brought out all the necessary supplies for us to enjoy the meal and the lady told us not to worry about paying for food until the end! This restaurant is also next to a public parking space that only costs $7 which is convenient if you need to go to the Convention Center like my party!Los Compadres Mexican Restaurant is best.

The food is wonderful in the atmosphere in the restaurant is very family oriented. The restaurant is always busy so the food is very fresh as they sell a lot of food. The bar is a little small but very cozy and the people that work there are very nice and helpful. When I live down the street I used to order food to pick up as I did not want to wait to get seated.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Long Beach for great food and if I am in the mood for an actually good Margaritas. I love the carnitas tacos and the homemade corn tortilla are delicious, but everything we have tried is good and fresh. Expect long waits on the weekends of up to an hour. Great festive atmosphere to enjoy with friends or family.

I love Mexican cuisine, and I have to say that Los Compadres is the best in Long Beach. Everything Ive tried is so tasty with extra care taken on each item to make it just a little special. There are a lot of Mexican places in Long Beach so its very special to be my favorite. Enjoy! Just be sure to go on off-hours or prepared to wait.
