Giving 1 star in protest. Went tonight with my family for a little fun outing and was extremely disappointed. When we walked in the door there was no hostess and we waited around for almost 10 minutes before someone came over to seat us. We ended up being seated near the cantina bar. We waited another 10 minutes before our waitress decided to get our drink order. We were brought chips and salsa and the chips were totally stale and very oily which was unappealing. We all decided what we wanted to eat and put our menus down only to have her stroll by, look over, and ignore us and keep walking. This happened several times. Finally our waitress Amanda M. Decides that we are now worthy of having our order taken. We wait about 20 minutes and our food comes out. I had ordered fajitas they came out not even a little sizzle. Also my corn tortillas came in a holder with no lid and they were completely stale.My husband ordered a taco and enchilada plate. The taco was really salty and the enchilada was just a folded over tortilla with sauce, absolutely no meat. When I told Amanda about the tortillas she looked annoyed but brought me fresh warm ones. I told her about my husbands plate and she said oh and looked pissed. We all finished what we could, while we were still eating she brings the bill over and says when your ready. I looked at it and was amazed. It was over 50$ for the worst food. What was worse, she didnt even offer to change or discount something due to the food being below sub-par. I paid the bill and we left. Will never go back. Horrible food and horrible service. Never have I ever had a waitress that was so rude

I like this El Torito, it is a good location, and they always take real good care of us. Usually we come in a LARGE group, like 20+ and they keep everyone happy with drinks and all. Even when we ask for separate checks. They are also very forgiving, we came on Taco Tuesday recently and I went to the bar and got 3 tacos for the $3 and took them into the restaurant side and ordered a $2 side of beans and had dinner with the rest of the group. No complaints or strange looks. The menu changes all the time now at El Torito, but I always seem to find something amazing to order. The problem is remembering what I enjoyed last time so I can get it again.

I hadnt eaten at an El Torito in 12 years because the food at the Lakewood restaurant was soooo bad. But, I took my daughters to the Cypress Restaurant to see if the food had gotten any better after 12 years. WRONG! The waitress was never around, the cheese in both of my enchiladas was cold and hard, the food was tasteless and it took forever to get waited on. NEVER AGAIN!

Their buffet, or brunch, was horrible. The food selection was great but they use these heat lamps to keep the food warm but it does not work. It was always cold and the only time you could get warm food is when they brought it out. Plus, the Horchata was never refilled. The entire experience was bad and my party of 10 all complained. Should have gone to Souplantation.

We always go for Sunday Brunch. The menudo tasted home made. They bring carnitas with a fried egg and tortillas instead of chips. All the food is delicious. Tamales taste home made. The servers are very friendly and are constantly coming to check if you need anything. We always get Daisy or Eva for servers, both of them are excellent.

Terrible food.. The chicken salad had brown lettuce and basically no meat. It tasted like it was made in a dirty ashtray. The worst $13 meal I have ever had. Super slow service and people that just dont care. I voiced my concerns to the manager and he walked off. DONT GO THERE. Chipotle is half the money more meat and 100 times better

They have bad service I mad a reservation on April 3 for mother day then I called to make sure on mothers day if they still have my reservation and they said they never got it. And I called a month ahead of time. Yea what great service they have not they ruin my mothers mother day thanks el torito thanks for they bad service

The staff is friendly, but the waiter that I had was ok. The waiter had was constantly almost spilling the food he would bring which is dangerous because some of the food they offer is prepared over a mesquite-burning fire. I personally did not like the food at all and in my opinion its not authentic Mexican food

Just had drinks, with chips and salsa in the bar. Our server was kind, but brought out the wrong drink for me. Promptly exchanged it for the correct version. Pleasant atmosphere, decent service. Missed happy hour prices, which are excellent, so it was a little pricey. Otherwise, a fun time with friends!

The best day to go is, of course, taco tuesday:) You get like a taco for a buck or something like that and they are goood! they have like an entire taco table lined up for you to choose what you want on it. also, they have the best margaritas there!!! sooo goood (but bring back the peach margarita please)

Friday after work spur of the moment thing with some of the ladies at work my bf and a coworkers hubby. We a big group took a lil while to get service going but we finally got service and the beers and appetizers were great. Micheladas awesome... Chorizo tacos taste.

I had what was supposed to be a crispy fried burrito. For some reason they poured a sauce over it to make it soggy. That defeats the purpose of frying it. The service here is wonderful though and Margaritas are great. Thursdays are $2 off night.

Bathrooms need updating, the smell in there every time I go is just YUCK!!!!! Trash on the floor all the time, however I saw a hostess in there fixing her hair and lip stick and walked out and left the mess! TRAINING PEOPLE!!!!!

yea, service is a little slow, but i go for the lunch time buffet and it helps out a lot when you can go up there as much as you want... and yes Chpotle CHEAPER AND MORE MEAT AND WITH IT YOU GET E-COLI FOR FREE....

The food was fabulous. The service was a bit slow but we did go right when they opened on a saturday. The temperature was lovely since it was getting hot outside. The drinks were delicious. The server was friendly.

We didnt get what we ordered and they changed waiters. What we got was to spicy. Wish I would of insisted on getting the steak and chicken combo fajitas that we ordered. I have always enjoyed that dish.

Massive portions and the carnitas were good; a little dry at times. I found the salsa well seasoned but a bit oily. OK service. Overall nothing earth shattering here but proximity to hotel was good.
