Now I dont normally like to leave bad reviews on beloved restaurants because I feel that my experience is rare and cant possibly affect people in the future but considering how Im feeling right now I have to say my piece. This place sucks and stinks like those little black caterpillars when you burn them under a magnifying glass in the summer sun. I have had my share of Mexican food growing up in New Mexico so trust me when I say I know what certain things are supposed to taste like. I remember eating here two years ago and having the chile relleno so naturally I ordered it again yesterday thinking I may have enjoyed it. BIG MISTAKE. What I was given was what could only be described as a limp, hollowed out pickle topped with a very pungent cheese and a scrambled egg. I couldnt even finish half of the awful "chile" in all its faded mucus, green glory. I then turned my attention towards the tamale that came with it. The tamales ratio was off considering that there was a ton of dry masa and a very tiny amount of meat shards that felt very harsh going down my throat; I couldnt even bring myself to eat more than a 1/5 of it. I was then offered some enchilada to try off the plate of my companion and lets just say I didnt know lemon lysol was considered a marinade. The "red chile sauce" that was smothered all over my plate also tasted like ketchup mixed with Valentina hot sauce, and if it wasnt for the specks of pepper (?) in it I would assume it was so. I also had a problem with the salsa bar that had cardboard chips that could be dipped into their ketchup, dirty dishwater tasting so called salsa. The only redeeming quality of this place had to be the drinks because its hard to go wrong with putting syrup into a soda machine. I just had a flashback to the greasy and very elastic tortillas. I wish I knew why the tortilla could act as a rubber band and make my hair have an oily sheen but I havent got a clue.

best salsa / chips bar ever... help yourself to unlimited servings of mild, hot, spicy, and chili verde salsas with fresh chips. but... everything kinda goes downhill from the salsa bar. my friends ordered the burritos and they were having a blast eating their chipotle-sized burritos. i ordered the shrimp quesadilla and i was not impressed. the quesadilla came with dollops of guac and pico de gallo and the shrimps were not flavorful and crispy enough. the cheese was blah and the quesadilla was swimming in grease. i left my quesadilla for a while and came back and revisited and it smelled... like garbage. i did not want anything to do with that quesadilla and tossed it immediately. my friends wife ordered a veggie quesadilla and it came with brocolli... hum, odd pairing. maybe i just need to order something thats NOT a quesadilla next time...

First off I will say Im from east LA and Im familiar with great Mexican food with more of an authentic Mexican angle. Having said that I grew up in Southern California now and have had my fair share of Americanized Mexican food I would categorize this restaurant as such. However this is basically a taco truck. I ordered a few hard shell beef and chicken tacos and a taquitos plate. Was not impressed with the quality of any food item. Also noticed plenty of flies inside the truck and I couldnt help but wonder how much food the Flies had gotten onto. Didnt finish my meal on account of the lack of flavor will not be returning there are better more authentic and better tasting Mexican Alternatives in the area Im sure.

I must say growing up in Long Beach, CA we have one of the best lacquers. This is located in the Excelsior district on Mission street at the corner of Cayuga.Ive been coming here for years since high school and I still crave for it all the time!My favorite is their crane Masada super quesadilla Sui! MIND BLOWN! Perfect amount of crane Masada, cheese, sour, cream and avocado with pinto beans. Its a big portion so I usually share this with another person. It is downright delicious and will have you going back for more.

The environment was classic and the food delicious. I was in the area on business and had no direction on food places. The parking is limited, but the clientele was varied. Ordering was fast and friendly. I had the Baja Burrito and a beer. Sitting on the small patio and enjoying the weather was so worth the stop. 4 stars only because the burrito was not as warm as I wanted. With that being my only complaint, there is no option for 4.5. Worth the stop if youre in the long beach area.

This review will deal mostly with my experience on the weekends, Especially on Sunday evenings. Sunday evenings are pretty packed so expect it to be a little noisy. The food heres pretty much a typical Tex-Mex. The burritos are pretty big. On the weekends they also serve Menudo which is pretty good its cleaner tasting than your average place and its not as greasy. The parking is pretty small and tight.

For americanized tacos this place is great. My taco was filled with iceberg lettuce and shredded cheese. I know there was pork but I couldnt taste it because of the overpower of cheese. Not what I was hoping for based on the reviews. I will say the taco shell was tasty and the service was good.

You really cant go wrong with this place. They serve huge potions and quality ingredients. The salsa bar is off the hook and they offer a happy hour with beer/food choices. Parking can be a pain during certain times of the day but are well worth putting up with for some truly delicious food.

Great Mexican food!! love their chips and salsa! Their Tuesday Taco deals are amazing!! best taco for the buck anywhere! Absolutely love this place. The only downside is the parking. There isnt much and if you go on tuesday, you will have to drive around to find parking.

The food here is delicious and authentic. The carne asada fries are soooo good! I love the atmosphere and its a great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. Its a bit small so if you live nearby you may want to call ahead and carry out. I love this place!

Popular restaurant with the office lunch crowd. Quality of food is just ok though, there are lots of better and more authentic Mexican places in long Beach. They have a self serve tortilla chips bar thats good in theory, but the chips are sometimes stale.

Delicious, affordable Mexican food in a casual and festive environment. Ive tried almost every vegetarian option here and enjoyed each dish. It can be hard to find a table around dinner time but it always works out. Great local place!

I hate the parking, but the food makes up for it! This place makes Mexican food the right way! Flavors all work great together and dishes are never too greasy. Best best best thing to eat here is the Carnitas!
