Ive been here couple of times and today I had enough of their BAD service... We tried making dinner rsvp for party of 16, but was told they couldnt accept rsvp and waiting was "only" 30min-1hr. So when we got there they say another 1hr, so weve waited, then they say another 1hr, which put our group for a 10:45pm seating time from 7:30pm. Dont they realize that they close at 11 and their last call at 10:45pm? And yet they could have made 4 tables of 4 way before but gave to other smaller group of customers and how could they say first come first served? What type of service is that, especially for a large group...they dont even make sense...on top of everthing, they have an area for "large group" (30 or more ppl) that they dont want to open the area for us because they have to get another server and saying that we didnt make rsvp, WTF?...not being a racist, but this Japanese restaurant runs by young & unprofessional Koreans from the manager, who cant even manage and defending his staff, to all those that works on the front line.....they just lost a revenue of at least $500 tonight...they dont even deserve 1 star. I regret of referring this place & giving them the doubts.

I tell everyone I know not to come here anymore due to the horrible service I received multiple times here--but the last one is what really made me give up. My order of soup came 45 minutes in, after being told many times it was coming, after the rest of my party was done eating. Asked for it to-go, server said "Oh, but its ready." Right. Either it takes that long to make broth + noodles (with literally one vegetable in it) or you forgot about it. Asked if my soup could be comped due to receiving it at the end of the lunch hour (I usually dont do this but felt it was time given the multiple bad experiences) and waited around for a manager only to be told one wasnt around? Maybe he/she was avoiding the issue. Doesnt even matter I guess. They serve some of the crappiest sushi Ive ever had, they hide bad quality ingredients by throwing eel sauce and tempura flakes on everything...even food court sushi is better somehow. I can get the 1 or 2 items theyre making well at one of the other million restaurants in Glendale. Avoid this place--theres just no reason to put up with bad food and bad service.

Unfortunately I cannot give this restaurant less than a star or I would. It pains me to write this review, as I have had good experiences here, but on a recent visit I was greeted with dirty plates, served drinks that looked as though they had been sitting on someone elses table, and treated rudely by waiters who did not care about my complaints and a manager who refused to even speak with me. I am disgusted and appalled by this restaurant, not to mention concerned by the statement "I washed you clean plates because you said you wanted them." If clean plates are not standard practice in a restaurant I can definitely say I wont be going back. I strongly advise anyone reading this to choose another Japanese restaurant and not eat here...the prices might be decent but its not worth risking food poisoning.

I usually go to this place when its happy hour, but since my birthday was today I decided to take my family out for happy hour and I shoulda chose a different place. What made my experience different of the other times that I have visited was that 1.it was a slow day (wednesday 5/11/16) 2.not busy 3.not sure if I had New workers or then just forgetting and 4. My brother in law had simply asked our server Robert and other staff members at the desk for a birthday cake or birthday ice cream at the end of our dinner, but that did not happen. What I got instead was a check and a thank you. Now I know this sounds a bit childish but on a slow day services should be 10/10 and instead i got half of that. Food is always good but services should be better.I dont ask for much but again this is my review

I have been to Octopus before, three times in Burbank and twice in Glendale. My second visit to Glendale was very disappointing. My wife and I basically felt neglected by our waiter. There was a large party in the next room and that may have accounted for it, but I paid my money just like them and expect the same level of service. It took my wife about 20 minutes to get her meal and I was half-way through my sushi salad by the time she got her combination dinner. They did bring her fries about 10 five minutes before she got her main course but they were barely warm. After we were finished we had to get the attention of someone who was not our waiter to get our check. I did not leave a tip and put "bad service" on my bill to explain why.

I used to live on OC, and used to go to the one in Brea, but since ever I tried this one, I refuse pretty much to go to any other Octopus restaurant, or sushi restaurant in LA area. The thing i like the most about their fish is that it’s always fresh, never have any smell, like some other place do. The portions are pretty big for the price that you’r paying, and their seaweed salad is the best. Not only you get seaweed on it, but also greens. Overall, I like it the meet out of all the sushi places, because they are friendly and normally I don’t have any problems with my order. Hope they keep on doing the great job!

Horrible service took an hour, only beer and water was served! I dont know if it was discrimination or what, but I had to tell one of the staff members that we had not been visited by server for over 30min..... They were not busy, the waiters and waitresses were hanging out by the register giggling and laughing. In the end our food wasnt even put in for order when we asked the manager, if they even took our order. This place is a joke! It was like bunch of immature high school kids working there... I hope others have better experience, or avoid this place all together.

The sushi chefs are some of the best Ive seen. Between Mario, Richard, Leo, and the new chefs, theyre all real good. We always sit at the bar, and are always greeted by them with smiles and welcomes. Theyre a great bunch, very kind and talkative, if you so wish to have a chat with them. The sushi they push out is very good. Freshest Ive had (thus far) at this price range, and nothing else has come close. We come very often, and its always good. The waiting service can be hit or miss though. Thats my only complaint.

Awesome food! Very good service, excellent quality sushi, very good price, excellent value. Their service sometimes may suffer when too crowded,, but is usually very good. My favorites, amongst many others: Albacore lovers roll, tuna tempura roll, spicy tuna hand roll, tempura ice cream. You will enjoy this place. I take my wife and kids, and have taken friends and many family members there many times and have always enjoyed their food. Their happy hour is also very good. Enjoy!!!

By far one of my favorite sushi places to eat. Sushi is always very good and service is prompt and friendly. I usually eat at the sushi bar. And Im glad they brought Kirin Ichiban Light back. Even when its been busy, the food has always come out in a timely manner, which is great. Most places dont. You have to park in the public parking structure right across the street and you get 90 minutes free so unless you take 2 hours to eat...you dont have to worry about parking.
