I really wanted to give this place a chance and was hoping it was going to be better since its one of maybe 2 sushi spots on this main street. Service was polite and we didnt wait long for a seat. Seaweed appetizer was acceptable as well. My friend and I ordered the Marilyn Mon-roll and spicy yellowtail to share--before you roll your eyes, we did consider they might taste similarly. However, I could have forgiven similar tastes if not for the absolutely mushy texture and terrible rice of the Marilyn. It comes with a huge mushy scoop of spicy tuna and scallop on the side (same stuff as what they put in the roll). I was trying to be polite and see if it would get better but ultimately--didnt finish this roll. IMO it should be removed from the menu completely or updated to add something so that it doesnt fall apart and taste like mush. The spicy yellowtail roll did end up tasting similarly (which I was fine with bc it wasnt as mushy) but despite being a slightly better tasting roll the rice was sub-par. I considered returning both dishes upon first bite of both but we were so hungry and sometimes its just too much effort to make a huge fuss. Just quit eating both which pretty much never happens with me and sushi. Decided to just cut our losses I guess. Typically I only order nigiri so I *might* come back to see if this night was just a fluke (I want to support businesses on this block) but if you cant make sushi rice maybe you shouldnt have a sushi restaurant...

Blue Fish Japanese Restaurant never disappoints. Even after essentially doubling in size by expanding into the next door space vacated by another restaurant, this place is always busy for the dinner rush, so if you dont want to have to wait for a table or spot at the sushi bar plan for an earlyish/lateish dinner. Blue Fish has an extensive list of specialty rolls so it has something for everyone in your group (including many choices of raw, cooked, and vegetarian rolls). I especially like the Special Library and Red Dragon rolls. Also, their nigiri/sashimi portions are quite generous.

Really profoundly mediocre sushi. Service was bad, in the sense that it was totally inattentive. Actually had to ask for wasabi because no one thought to bring it out, even after the entire meal had been served. What kind of sushi restaurant is that? Also, the California roll was totally inedible, I left it untouched on my plate, and no one even asked what was the matter, like they knew it was terrible. There are two other sushi restaurants on this block, and I would recommend either over this one.

Nothing less than 5 stars! From the moment you walk into the door you are greeted and seated! Ambience is splendid and service is 10/10. I was introduced to Blue Fish on my 28th birthday and I have been hooked on the Shat Love dish. Great place for family, friends or by yourself. If you get lucky, you maybe offered sample dish on the house ;-) Glad this place is in the neighborhood!

A nice place, well lit, cozy while not feeling cramped. Not very energetic baby/kid friendly but not impossible. Food was good. Brought out apparently slow on the night I visited because we were offered a complimentary small fishy salad thing before it arrived.

Absolutely delicious. Their creations are worth every penny, they even have good baked or tempura options if youre trying to start your friends on sushi or your wife is pregnant. Whenever you enter all the staff shout a greeting in Japanese welcoming you.

The place is pretty small and can get crowded, but thats only because the sushi is GOOD! Its a nice place to do lunch with co-workers, friends, date night, your mom (lol). The only downside is that its also pretty pricey...

They have amazing service! I just feel like they experiment a little too much with the food, which is fine, but if you just want a traditional plate, it might not taste the same, Id go somewhere else for that.

Sushi does taste great. However the prices where a tad bit more expensive compared to the norm. And yes, the service was terrible!! It wasnt even that busy, but it took forever to get some refills and check.
