I stopped in at Jasmine Tokyo Asian Buffet at the recommendation of my massage therapist who is in the neighborhood. She said that although it is a little pricey, the lunch buffet is reasonable, and she particularly enjoys the assortment of vegetables that they serve. I had just had my massage, I hadnt eaten yet, I wanted something on the healthy side, and it was just after their 11:00 am opening time - so I decided to go directly there. I rejoiced at finding a parking space in the shade, and counted myself blessed at that point. As I entered, and waited to be seated, I noticed how large and extensive the buffet was. A friendly hostess greeted me and showed me to a table, where a friendly server immediately came to take my beverage order. Before even picking up a plate, I walked the entire buffet twice, just to decide on a strategy. The selection was huge, including made to order Udon and Soba noodle soups, to assorted sushi (nori and rolls), assorted tempura, lots Japanese and Chinese dishes, assorted salads, vegetables of every description and with varied preparations, tofu dishes, desserts, 3 Asian soups, and more. There was LOTS of variety. I decided to start with salads and vegetables, ease from there into slightly heavier fare, and wrap up with a sampling of desserts. There was not a vegetable that I tried that I did not enjoy, although some of them needed a bit of additional seasoning. I had fried rice with my veggies, and while it was just ok, it was better than what Ive had at other buffets, and was loaded with onions, and other tasty tidbits. On the first trip, I has stuck to very small portions. I would have been perfectly happy sticking with a second plate just like the first, but I wanted to sample additional items. I loved the Tofu Lovers dish which was in a light but flavorful sauce with lots of delicious broccoli and cabbage. I also tried the mushroom chicken, the sesame balls, and red snapper, tuna, and salmon nori. I opted not to try any of the sushi rolls or tempura. I was tempted to have Udon noodle soup, but knew that there was no way I would have room in my stomach to do it justice. I got a bit more fried rice, and some more vegetables. The nori was pretty flavorless, even with wasabi and soy sauce, and a bit on the dry side. Not odd for a buffet, but at least it didnt taste fishy. The other dishes beyond the Tofu Lover were pretty so-so. The beef dishes looked good, but I didnt really want beef today. I should have skipped the dessert course. The cookies were heavy and didnt have much flavor. I tried four tiny pieces of cake (different kinds) and every single piece was soggy (wet) on the bottom. Once I discovered that, I gave up on the desserts and called it a day. My server promptly brought me my check, and closed me out, thanking me for coming, as did the hostess as I exited. Bottom line, lots of variety, lots of what I wanted - vegetables and lighter fare, decent basics, except dessert, and a price that is reasonable only if you eat more than you generally might (I know I did). Ill go back again just for the vegetable selection, but Ill stick to lunch since dinner is almost double the price. I really dont like buffets, but for a buffet, this wasnt too bad.

Do Not go there, if you love your dogs. Do NOT go there, if you expect to be treated like a customer, and not a like a criminal. Heres what happened to us: Food is just ok, but service is just disgusting. In the middle of the afternoon, we were one of 5 occupied tables. We NEVER could find a server. We had to walk across the restaurant 4x. We finally went to the front desk, & were told "Your server went home. We will have to find another one!" 30 minutes later, one appeared. It gets better! When a server finally did appear, we told her we have 5 rescue dogs, & asked her if it was ok to take the bare bones from our food home. She replied that it was fine. We kept the bare bones in a napkin on the able. We were leaving the restaurant, when the apparent "manager" comes screaming after us, yelling hysterically that "you cant take those bones home!!!" We explained what the server said. We unwrapped the napkins, to show her the bare bones. She then screamed that we needed to pay $2.99 a pound. We explained (again) the situation, showed her the bones again, and started to leave. She again came screaming after us, even more hysterically yelling that she "would call the police, & have us arrested for theft!!!!!" She took the napkin with the bones, & threw it in the garbage pail, making sure we saw her. Sure makes good business sense to me lol! Hard to believe, huh? Our advice...if you love your dogs, or expect to be treated like a customer, & not a criminal, stay far, far away!

My husband and I love coming here and the food is wonderful! Im giving them three star because the one and now only time we brought our one and two year olds with it the server got upset and told us it was a health violation and rude to the other customers because our one year old had a small mess of a spoon and a couple pieces of food under his highchair. We try very hard to keep the floor around our children clean as well as the table clean. Anything that got on the floor away from under the highchair or table we immediately picked up. Our children were very quiet, happy, and calm throughout dinner and the couple other tables of customer around us commented how well behaved our children were and were just as upset with the waiter for his comments. The manager was also upset when we told her what had happened and asked why if there would be a concern with a mess why werent we put in the back away from other customers which is why Im giving three instead of two stars. So if your children are older or your toddlers/children make absolutely no mess its a great family resturant but if your children are like typical, happy children you may want to consider getting a babysitter.

I was taken there for lunch by a friend who had been before and was excited about finding the place. Funny how people rated this place either "dirty restaurant, rude servers, with bad food and old dried out sushi", or "great place, great service, very clean, and food was fresh & delicious". I found it to be the latter when I went there for lunch. The restaurant looked spotless to me, and the food was hot and fresh, or cold and fresh as it should have been dependent on type. Like any buffet, there were a few items I didnt like, but you cant please everyone with everything- overall it was a great selection and I saw it constantly being changed out for freshness. Id go back, and take friends!

Tried this place due to the overall high reviews...the chow mein plate was tasty but once I got through half of the plate I found a piece of metal scrub brush in my mouth and almost choked trying to get it out... Although I didnt have to pay for the plate I expected a better reaction to try to save future business but was surprised that I was charged for my soda and the other plate at the table....im not the type to try to get stuff for free or find extras when a mistake happens but a little effort into keeping me coming back might have worked....wont be back here- cleanliness is very important part to trusting a restaurant!
