I am a huge fan of BonChon Chicken and was excited to see that a new location recently opened up near my home. I have eaten my share of Bon Chon chicken at the Annandale location, so I was keen on trying this new location. My friends and I went on a Friday night. Upon arrival, I noticed that this location was a lot smaller than the Annandale location, and it was packed!. A waiter told me that it only is allowed to seat up to 30 people. That is not very many. So instead of eating at the restaurant, my friends and I decided to order out. We ordered our typical order: 1 large soy garlic wings and 1 large spicy wings. As typical, the wait is over an hour long. This is not a big deal for anyone whos a regular at BonChon. I would recommend calling your order ahead if youre craving Korean Fried Chicken. One thing that stood out at this location was the customer service. It was great. Ive been to the Annandale location many times, and the service there is terrible. The Fairfax location is better! As part of the grand opening, Bonchon offered a 15% off coupon. When I ordered and paid, I forgot to use my coupon. When I came back an hour later to check on my order, I remembered the coupon and asked if I could use it still. The cashier was nice and checked with the manager. The manager came out to talk to me. He was happy to help me take care of it. He was busy, but he took the time to help me. He didnt have to, so I really appreciated the extra effort he and his staff is putting in to make the experience at his store exceptional. Finally, we got our chicken. It was great! Just as good as the Annandale location. It is still one of the best fried chicken anywhere.

Oh Korean fried chicken, how can you go wrong. What I usually like to do is to call ahead and order wings, one order non-spicy and one order spicy, half an hour before driving over to this Fairfax branch. After all, if you go in and order, youll have to sit there for 30 minutes anyways. The wings come out all golden and beautiful, crispy and sticky, the skin of the wings crackle when bitten into. Theres garlic soy or hot sauce to dip your wings into and if you cant handle spice too well, theres pickled daikon to cool your burning mouth, BonChons substitute for celery. Delicious, succulent, so addicting, I could probably take down a whole plate myself. There are a couple of other locations now - one just recently opened in Arlington, theres another in Centreville, as well as one in Rockville. There used to be one in Annandale but it has since closed, renovated and reopened to become Chi-Mc, which I believe is essentially the same as the former BonChon just operating under a new name. This location renovated last year and expanded the space so theres more seating now. Theres even a private room in the back. It used to be about four or five high tables and maybe five regular tables. There used to be a couple of flat screen TVs hanging along the wall but they replaced those with one giant projector screen. Ive eaten this for the Super Bowl instead of traditional Buffalo wings for the last two years and dont regret a thing.

I went with a friend who refers himself in the 3rd person and ordered (half and half) a large and french fries. No beer license so had to settle for Pepsi products instead, not a big deal. French fries were awesome, you can tell that the fries were cooked in the same oil as the chicken. We loved it so much that we ordered another basket. The chicken was fantastic, the place has definitely improved its process since my last visit which was during the superbowl weekend. I would say its one of the best Bon Chon experience to date including ones in Annandale and NY. Took about 30 minutes to get the chicken but thats to be expected.

We arrived as a group of 10 with reservations. After placing our orders, the food arrived as it was ready, though some if it took longer than 30 minutes. After waiting almost an hour for our order of small wings and asking about them multiple times, we decided to cancel it. I seemed that they were having a pretty bad day keeping their orders straight. when they took our cards to pay, it took them 10 mins to get everything figured out. The overall experience was one of dragged out disappointment.

3 stars, no more-no less. I dont get what the big hype is; the chicken, although crispy, is hardly any different then a decent general tsoss dish but with a mild sauce. Dont get me wrong, its good, but I would not rate it as something special. This is a Korean recipe and should never be compared to the classic buffalo wing with the tangy sauce. For me, it just wasnt worth the 10 grams of fat per wing serving nor the 30 minute wait but there were quite a few people who seemed to be enjoying it.

The place is smaller than the one in Annandale but I like the decoration, small, modern, and cozy. I order mildly spicy and I think that was a bad move because I didnt feel it as good as I always have (really spicy). But overall I will definitely come back to this place often since its closer to my house than the one in Annandale, and the quality is pretty the same. Always the best chicken wings that Ive ever had!

Delivery available in Fairfax area This location has moved down little river turnpike to Annandale VA. If you have never tried BonChon chicken definitely missing out. Chicken is moist double battered deep fried and sauced well. The Spicy option is indeed spicy and flavorful. Located on the backside of Giant supermarket parking lot and can be missed if you have never been to Annandale. #CityExperts

Bonchon is always going to be a long wait because it takes a long time to "double fry" chicken? Whatever that means. And whatever it is, it does actually make chicken significantly more delicious. I am also not a slaw fan, however, treat yourself to their kimchi slaw. It might just be the highlight of your night. Its delicious, not too spicy or hot, and offers a nice balance to the fried chicken.

Everyone I know loves their fried chicken and fries; you do want to order ahead as it may take a while to prepare. Im taking one star off for their service; they once forgot about my phone order and tried to trick me into waiting on the spot. I ended up confronting them that they must have forgot about my order and just told them to forget about it. In my opinion that was not very honest

Best authentic Korean-style, pressured-fried chicken. The side dishes are okay, but the specialty is the fried chicken, which isnt greasy (and that suits me perfectly, since I cant handle too much fat or greasy food). You can get it mild or spicy, and with a variety of dipping sauces. If you want the food to go, its best to call ahead, since the food is slow-cooked.
