WOW, the Dix Hills Diner is back baby! For Long Time residents, everyone remembers the Dix Hills Diner of the glory days. It was the best diner in the area, the only one equaling it was the Candlelight Diner in Commack (Im going back to the 80s for this). But everyone knew that as other Diners rose, the Dix Hills Diner fell. Perhaps it was the large smoking area they set up when you could first smoke inside, but separate? Perhaps it is because they have never, ever re-developed the outside and it looks stale? Recently however, we went to the beautiful On Parade Diner in Woodbury/Syosset near Southwoods Road and the food and service were awful so there goes the idea of going to a place because it looks good. Then we went to the gross looking Golden Coach on Jericho by Oakwood Avenue (which my wife had said was nicknamed the Golden Roach), but we were surprised and the food was amazing! The inside was even nice too. Why all these diners? My sister just moved to Huntington and has a two month old, so she isnt cooking and we are bringing in food a lot. So back to the Dix Hills Diner: We thought why not, lets just try it, because it was the most convenient and we had been avoiding it. Turns out, it was the best diner around!! The service was impeccable, the cost was within reason, portions huge and the menu is the most extensive Ive ever seen. The food was out of this world! We also went to the Broadway Diner in Hicksville after seeing a movie at the Broadway mall and even though I only had a Cobb Salad, it was really very good, in spite of the fact that they served iceburg lettuce. I didnt mind, but my friend was horrified. The top prize goes to the Dix Hills Diner. They redesigned the inside, it is gorgeous, check out the Website and you will be blown away. Then, just go - or dont, the parking lot is still small in comparison to newly built diners (which tend to go away pretty quickly). Look at Rte. 110, there are no more Diners, how pathetic is that?

Only the BEST diner anywhere!!! Not only is the food wonderful, so are the owners. They TRULY care about their customers experience...they want you to leave full and happy. And you do!!! All of their food is great...the only place I will eat fish (aside from a seafood restaurant). It would be difficult to choose a favorite dinner...there are so many...BUT... the brisket, chicken balsamico, Korean barbecue beef, FRESH turkey, meatlovers pasta are only a few of our favorites. And then comes dessert. OMG! You cant go wrong with whatever you choose. Their selections are unique...fantastic taste but not overly sweet. I dont know how they do it, but they put their magic touch on it and it works. Large portions and all for a reasonable price. Thank you Mike and Peter. You have put everything you can to make the DHD a comfortable place to go (and the STAFF likes working with you, which shows just how good you are). And it is!!!

You know what ppl say...dont go somewhere to eat unless there are a lot of cars in the parking lot? Well, the parking lot is always packed and rightfully so. The menu is unlike any regular dinner. There are diner specials daily. Lamb chops (cooked to order and perfection), Bang Bang Chicken to Spinach, Watermelon and Goat Cheese Salad served with a balsamic reduction. There are many sauces paired with each entree, which you dont find at ordinary dinners. Its more like a restaurant than a dinner, guess its bc the owner is a graduate of CIA. I have introduced this place to many ppl and they have returned time after time. The service is great and attentive, and the place is very clean!

Easily the best diner in the area since Sweet Hollow went down hill. I cannot get enough of their breakfast (eggs Benny and ommeletes are on point; coffee is great too) and dinner specials (pork specials are my go to). Also the free (gluten free) macaroons are to die for. The service is almost always fast, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Pro tip: if you go here often, go to the commack Costco to get two $50 gift cards for $80. We essentially get a 20% discount every time we go thanks to those gift cards. Finally - and most importantly - the chocolate cheese cake is a must. You will find no better cheesecake in the area.

Affordable, tasty food served until midnight, and the presentation is always gorgeous. This diner really shoots for good quality and its reflected in all of the dishes it has to offer. The menu is tight; it doesnt have an overwhelming number of choices like some diners, but it definitely has a ton of really solid options. The burger patties are made in-house and so are the baked goods which is always a bonus.

visited the diner in the afternoon, the waitress was no good. She would put the drinks in the middle of the table, took my order from the far side of the table, could not remember who ordered what, and called me sir (which was totally wrong) I will go again but not have her for my waitress. If left up to me she would not have gotten a tip but my daughter and friend insisted. beware of the older lady.

Had a great Mothers Day brunch here. They told me it would be a 15 minute wait and it was. The rest was just pleasant and expectable. Staff tried their best to make all the customers happy on this very busy morning. Good food, drink and service at regular prices. Ill be back soon.

My mother and I eat here every Thursday morning, Cecilia is usually our server and she is an absolute pleasure, as is the rest of the staff. Everyone there is kind and provides all the service needed.. In comparison to the other local diners, it exceeds all expectations.

My wife and I love coming here. Its popular and so you might have to wait 20 minutes for a table, and sometimes its hard to find parking, but its worth it. You HAVE to buy a dozen of their macaroons. The most amazing Ive ever had. There are samples near the register.

Didnt like our round of appetizers or main course so we decided to fill up on Oreo cheesecake and waffle ice cream - the cheesecake was good, something was so off about the waffle. Left wishing wed stopped at Burger King instead.
