To Mike below. What is the gratuity for? I used to work as a server at chuck a rama while I was in school. Not only do the servers bus all the tables, but they bring drinks, and are required to decorate all the cakes before the start of their shifts, and keep all the desserts fresh and out on the dessert bar. Our base salary was less than minimum wage. I highly doubt you were forced to pay 30 percent gratuity. On groups of 15 people or more, there is a 15 percent gratuity that is applied for the entire bill. Why? Because groups tend to stay longer and take up a servers entire section. When you have a huge group taking up your entire section for 2 hours, you would hope they would be kind enough to leave you a tip, so you didnt just run your buns off for two hours taking dirty plates, and getting drinks only to get nothing at the end. Think about it. When a group is taking up your entire section or a large portion of your section for a large majority of your shift, it is pretty disheartening to have them leave without leaving any sort of gratuity. Servers are not allowed to get your food for you, for health reasons. But they do get the drinks, and as I said before, they keep all the desserts backed up and fresh, and they clean up all the plates during your visit, and after you leave. Yes you can get the drinks on your own if you choose, but it is very helpful to have them brought to you so you dont have to get up when you have little kids you are trying to feed and watch. I have worked at a regular restaurant as a server, where I took the order and brought the drinks. Half the time, I was not even the one who would bring the food out to the customer, someone from the kitchen did that. I rarely bused a table. So really, I took an order, smiled a few times, and filled up one round of drinks. I worked WAY harder for my money at Chuck a rama than I ever did at the other restaurant I worked at. The food is made from scratch, every day. Things such as the cakes, puddings, frostings, soups, and salads are made in large quantities, they have to be given the buffet style of the restaurant, but I promise you, they make everything from scratch. Everyone at the company works really hard to make sure that the customers are happy and the food is good. As for the price of the buffet? By the time we go to a fast food place, it ends up being the same. And at Chuck a rama, you have a big variety of home style foods to choose from.

Ok so Chuck-A-Rama has a somewhat marred reputation around these parts. Lets just say there was a time when i didnt disagree with the nickname UpChuck-A-Rama. However my breastfeeding wife wanted lots of food and she wanted it fast so we went here for the first time in a long time last month. I gotta say i was MIGHTY impressed. Their slow-cooked turkey roast stew was absolutely amazing. Not just good for a buffet, it was good period. There were lots of dishes like that. Usually when you go to a buffet you fill up on flavorless foods and then lose the desire to go back anytime soon. That didnt happen with me. I very quickly started craving their bacon and beans dish etc. I suppose it does depend on the day you go because their mexican menu was lacking, but their american cuisine was excellent.

We went last night - Friday night - so it wasnt too crowded. We probably had 25 people in our group, so youd think the waitress would cater to a bigger group but no. NOT ONCE did she come to ask if we needed drinks, only cleared our tables because they were closing in 30 minutes & was basically pushing us out the door. I dont know if it was because we were Polynesian or what but it seemed as though she was taking care of everyone else except for us. It was quite disappointing.

Food tasted pretty darned good to be honest. The carving station items were really good... The reason for the bad review is that all 3 of us who had dinner there last night became ill this morning... FOOD POISONING... enough said... you want food poisoning, go here. I really enjoyed the food, but I dont want food poisoning again... ugh this is horrible

On the positive side we love the selection the scones are always wonderful, the salad bar was good and of course you get drinks and desserts. However on the Poor Side some of the dishes lacked taste, the baked chicken was dry, the turkey Kettle Stew was over overdone and carrots were mushy and the roast beef didnt have any flavor.

I wonder why I keep coming back because I am rarely satisfied when I eat the food. Their beef in the stroganoff is too fatty, the noodles are too dry, and the garlic toast was overcooked. I, also, didnt like the selection of soup they offered. Then, the service wasnt impressive either. Not even a good experience today.

We have some friends that love to go here when were in town. Price is OK for what you get. Ive never been real impressed by their food, but its somewhat better than your "standard" buffet. I guess I wouldnt seek it out, but Ill keep going back every time we have dinner with our friends.

Family party. Staff was great. Reasonably priced. We had about sixty to eighty people. Including kids. Everyone had something they liked and plenty of food. Some of our kids were a little rowdy but the staff was firm but nice with them . Definitely a great place for a family party.

The caucation guy in register gave a warm welcome very friendly ,the hispanic man serving the turkey n ham slices very friendly n gives good size portion ,server hispanic girl very friendly n cleard the dishes fast i will defenetly come back back here thank u .

What a disappointment this place was , we paid almost $70 based on what was advertised on their website and we get there and the menu is few dishes thats all and most of what they had advertised on their menu wasnt even served , terrible , waste of $70 .

The food was pretty good actually. Dessert is a bit disappointing, and service (waiting to be seated) was very, very slow. Its kind of loud and crowded but at least you can eat as much of whatever you want.

This place used to have good food. Now its not so great. Its a buffet and a couple of times i saw people just reaching into the food with their hands. I also saw vomit in the parking lot. Gross!!

Worst service Ive ever experienced! They were not able to accommodate my family. They couldnt separate a table to sit my family & I. Im never going back again, you guys dont deserve my money.

As far as buffets go it is decent, but WHY do people have to sample and lick their fingers while scooping their food! DAGIT, I dont want to touch the spoon after you licked your fingers!
