I am rating this restaurant from two perspectives. First, I have visited this restaurant during the lunch hour easily more than twenty times. Their buffet is excellent! Good selection and tasty food when taking into consideration that its a buffet (spice level is middle of the road leaning towards mild). I would give the buffet 4.5 stars. The service is always excellent…attentive and personable but not overbearing. The wait staff and environment get an A-grade. Yesterday evening, my wife and I visited the restaurant. This was my very first non-buffet visit and I was actually quite excited to taste the food ordered from the menu. Historically, it has been my experience that when the food on a buffet is good that the dinnertime entrées are even better (since they are prepared to your spice level). At India Garden, this assumption did not hold true. I can’t believe it myself, but the food was actually the worst Indian food that I have ever eaten (since I started eating it regularly in 2001). Really the worst! I ordered Aloo Gobi. This dish seems simple, right? Cauliflower and potatoes…how can it be messed up? Here’s the India Garden way: start with raw cauliflower and potatoes, don’t boil them, toss them on a platter, and drizzle a small amount of curry sauce on top. After I bit into the first raw potato, I shifted to the cauliflower and found it similarly raw. Unlike the food, I was steaming but I didn’t say anything because it was already late in the evening. I had no interest in waiting around for the dish to be prepared again. My wife ordered Fish Masala. From the lunch buffet, their Chicken Tikka Masala is tangy, creamy and quite flavorful. However, my wife’s dish was not so. The sauce wasn’t a far departure from Ragu. It was simply a smooth tomato paste with virtually no hint of cream. Both dishes were ordered as spicy and they were, but it was obvious that the spice powder was the last thing added before they were brought to the table. We could taste remnants of the powder in the sauce and nothing actually penetrated the food. Indian food is typically supposed to resemble a stew, right? Slow-cooked and mostly mushy. Not at India Garden. Throw a few ingredients into a pan for a few minutes and bring it to the table. For the $35 that we spent, I was sorely disappointed. We had actually considered hitting up BW3 for some bar food before deciding on getting a nice meal at India Garden…regretful decision on our part. I’ll likely continue visiting with my colleagues at the lunch hour but there’s no chance I’ll come back for dinner.

This was an OK dining experience. It went from OK to GOOD. My wife and I went to try India Garden since is close to our home. The only Lady in the restaurant who I believe is the hostess took us to our table. The place look amazing ( oh by the way, she never give us MENUS) They were busy and we noticed only 2 servers. Anyways the server finally came over and he noticed that we dont have any menus and he goes back to grab some. He apologized, but dont even ask if we need drinks (15 waiting) We came back took our orders still no drinks just water. We just didnt care and enjoyed our company. My food came but my wifes food did not Came, we just wait thinking is on its way. but nothing after 10 minutes (our server was nowhere to be found) We noticed the bartender or Manager was going around the tables asking every table how is everything, cleaning tables and refilling waters. he can by our table and asked us how are we doing.? I smile and said we are fine thanks! But he didnt believe me, and asked me again. I told him my wifes food was missing. He run to the kitchen and after 3 minutes her food was in the table. :) Dont get me wrong The FOOD is GREAT!! Is the SERVICE that needs a lot of improvement!!!!!! He also sent FREE drinks to out table I order Sangria and my wife order Mango Mojito and it was AWESOME!!! Great Drinks for a indian place very unusual!! After that everything went great!! I guess they are getting everything on place. Thank you to the Bartender we are coming back for those drinks and great FOOD!! I will giving 5 starts but the service took it down to 3! They have to improve the SERVICE!!

First two time found very authentic test... (Feb 2016), Taste become worst come worst, we kept visiting with faith getting good taste again, I think this place change their cook (Who doesnt know difference between any recipes, all recopies served with ample amount of TOMATO PUREE calling PUNJABI) ....(MAY, JULY, AUGUST, SEPT...2016)... We ordered mushroom paneer sabji, was loaded with Tomato puree and half way cooked...when asked we got ridiculous excuse customer prefers halfway cooked.... Mushrooms were uncooked to almost raw...)... We asked for Paneer Tikka (Guess ...Same puree lilbit spicy...hahaha)... I could recognize... as we owned restaurant in India...and I am a professional cook... Far better than cook from this place... AMERICANS AND NON INDIANS CAN GET EASILY FOOLED...NOT AT ALL ANYWHERE CLOSER TO THE PROPER TASTE OF ANY RECIPE... WE ARE DONE HERE....

Would go a long way for the very best Indian food in southeastern Wisconsin, but fortunately for me, its now just down the street. The buffet is spectacular and includes hot, so-soft nan and several dessert options (including homemade Mango ice cream) ~ all at a super reasonable price that does not force customers to pay for drinks by including it in the cost. Menu items we have tried near-weekly over the course of a year+ have all been richly flavored, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and served in generous portions. The entire staff is always accommodating and knowledgable, and their service is well paced. Even at typical dining times on a packed-house weekend afternoon, weve never waited more than a few minutes for a table. Carryout is ready quickly and packed hot. Just go there and see for yourself. The food is wonderful and the dining room is gorgeous.

I primarily come for the buffet, which is excellent. The staff is always super nice and helpful and welcoming, its just a really great experience having a meal here. This is also a very kid-friendly place. They have always been so nice to my kids, and it makes me feel very welcome. Its also my kids favourite restaurant, iddlies and fish pakoras please! The two times we had dinner there the food was absolutely fantastic, they even made mine extra extra spicy like I asked! Most places assume you dont really mean it, even if youre really insistent, and its nice to find somewhere that believes me when I say make it extra extra spicy :) This is my all time favourite Indian place in town, so for whatever its worth I think you should try it.

SERVICE! If you want to remember what service was like, this is where you go. If you own a resturant and want to see how your employees should service your customers, this is where you go. Wondering why you dont get good tips at your job? This is where you take notes. Lunch buffet is top class with so many options and all their food is properly labeled for veagn and gluten minded individuals. Classy place that doesnt leave you wondering how the sanitation is. And prices for what you get is amazing. This may not be everyones cup of tea as a dining choice. Buy if you like, love or want to try good food with a smile, this is where you go. Walk in with a smile and leave with one.
