Well I am not a big time food critic and my only reason to post a review is on the reason that I love food and appreciate good food. I am a terrible cook and my understanding of the culinery art is remote. I repect all good reviewers here but Ibwas welcomed by a different taste note. The vegetables we not im propotion cooked and the taste was not the greatest. The chicken gravy had the tangy tomato identity stand out and the meat in the goat were more glutteny. Moreover I felt more of ghee flavor standing out like it was deliberately done to add richness to a dish when someth8ng goes wrong with the cooking. Still I must add that every dynasty has a black day and everyone forgets. Maybe I walked in on a wrong day . I shall walk in again in another month to see if it hange and if it does, I will surely update.

Reason for my rating is not food, but the staff who are worst behaving with the customers. I walked in to the restaurant with my family on Fathers day weekend and I can see many tables available. The attendant asked us to wait and after few minutes he allowed us to take one of the tables and the way he talks has spoiled the whole happiness as he was trying to create issue even for baby high chair. Not sure what he thinks about the customers but it is so awkward to behave like that. He was the short guy in the restaurant and the worst service. They never turned up for looking at lease whether we have naan or atleast to ask if any other stuff we need. I say I felt very bad at their hospitality and advise none of my friends to that restaurant. Please avoid guys thanks

Being an Indian, I am not much of an Indian restaurant fan. I believe that I am a very good cook, so always avoided the stale indian restaurants until I discovered Saffron :-) The owners are so courteous and we are always greeted with a smile. The Naans are the best that I have ever eaten and the buffets is pretty lavish. They alway have my yummmmy samosas and they have the best goat curry in the menu. The deserts are great and the food is ALWAYS fresh. I am so addicted to this place that I try and skip my kitchen and order in. The best part being, when you call - you can customize each dish as you want. I love the chefs (such a family home cooked food) and so proud of a really good restaurant. Good job Guru !!!

Had a lovely experience. While service was slow at first, our waiter took the time to apologise for the delay, and for me this makes all the difference. The portions were generous and the food delicious. We had Rogan Josh, Chicken Curry, Lamb Saag, and another curry and all were quite good. We took lots home. Afterwards, a waiter tracked me down in the car park to give us two items that my kids had left behind. While this doesnt bear on the quality of the food, it shows a willingness by the staff to go above and beyond, and that means a lot. Well definitely be back.

Saffron definitely serves tasty and fresh food. Their gravy is very yummy on some items. However everyone has a week point, and Saffron does not know how to cook biryani (or they dont want to know). Here is my rating on individual items: Chichken Tikka masala 4.5 stars. Punjabi kadi 4.5 stars. Baiagan-ka-Bharta 4.5 Tandoori chichekn 3 stars. Biryani 1.5 stars (they just mix chkn curry and white rice, this is not how biryani is made) Chicken curry 2.5 stars Goat curry 3 stars Rest all items 3.5 stars. Service 4 stars.

Went to this restaurant last week and was highly disappointed. The mix vegetable curry tasted like previous left over. Felt like puking the moment I kept in my mouth. Uthapam is supposed to be soft but it was super dry and I guess it was also previous ones. Gulab jamun wasnt cooked properly. The center part was just uncooked. No biriyani in the buffet and the pulao had the flavor of raw basmati rice smell. I would never go back to this restaurant.

I really like food at Aroma for two main reasons – it’s fresh and very homely. This is true to heart Indian food.. I had the Lunch Buffett few times and been to Dinner with coworkers and food is consistently good. Some of my favorites are Samosas, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken and of course Naan bread. I never tried Punjabi Kadi Pakora while living in India however it’s now one of my favorites at Aroma. Keep up the good work.

Aroma is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in Chicago area. Food was perfect in every aspect. Not too spicy, not too oily, not over or under cooked, and very fresh. My favorite (and now it is my one of the all time favorite) was Chicken Malai Kabab. Also Paneer was very soft and tender. By far the best authentic North Indian restaurant around! I believe I just found my favorite Indian Cuisine place in US.

Aroma (formerly called Saffron) remains one of our favorite Indian restaurants to go to. The buffet is awesome and the complimentary appetizer they serve for dinner (naan and some chutney) is very tasty. Their samosas are one of the best that I have ever eaten and they are one of the top places in my list when I want to get a to-go or catering order. The owner Guru is extremely friendly and always greets us with a smile.

BEST INDIAN LUNCH BUFFET WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! My wife and I lived in Charlotte for a number of years which had some very good Indian restaurants. But since we moved to Wisconsin we have been unable to find anything that great. While we were on a vacation in Illinois we found this GEM. Both my wife and I felt the same way... Aroma was hands down the best that we have ever had. Glad we stumbled upon this. Thanks.

had dinner here last night and it was fantastic. good amount of portion and very tasty food. props to the chef for their "welcome delight". its a brilliant idea instead of just serving papad. i had bhindi masala and punjabi kadi pakora with garlic naan. mixed veg pakora for appetizer were delicious. overall a great place, great food and great service. will add this to my places to eat next time im in Lincolnshire.

I was there for lunch which is popular among nearby office workers for its all you care to eat buffet. Many Indian restaurants offer a buffet for lunch, lining it up with mediocre dishes. Not so with Aroma. Everything I tried seemed to be made with fresh ingredients, appropriately and authentically spiced. Nice variety and a good number of dishes. Naan served tableside. Attentive service.

food is good. I love their samosas. the lentil soup is perfectly seasoned. I would eat it every day. the service, while always very friendly, is inconsistent. sometimes we wait far too long to order, sometimes we wait far too long for food to be prepared. this is not always a factor of how busy the place is. i keep going back.

I would never visit this restaurant again. The food was substandard and the staff was very rude. Last week I did order for Egg fried rice and what they served was rice with soya sauce (Paste form) and It was very sweet in taste. When i enquired the response i got was `Have you ever had friend rice in the US?
