I have lived in New Jersey most of my life - this is one of the best restaurants Ive found. The food is always fresh, the staff serves it with courtesy and humor, the communal tables make it one of the friendliest places in the state. My partner and I moved to Belleville about 6 years ago. We didnt know anyone or have any preconceived notions (other than a lot of people told us their grandparents had lived here)! He is picky about Italian cooking as his grandmother was from Italy and was a great cook. He also lived in Italy for a while. La Sicilia was an instant hit with both of us and has remained so for 6 years. My favorite dish is the eggplant parm, but all the food is cooked with care and quality. The soups are amazing as is the sauce (or "gravy"). I consider this restaurant a part of my community. Paulina, Patty and Patty are friendly and intelligent wait-staff. The bus-boys are gracious, smart and part of the family. The owners/managers are there and available. Youd have to really bring a cloud in with you not to have a wonderful experience at La Sicilia.

The food is great but the service for sit down meals has drastically deteriorated. Ive been eating here for almost a decade and the last few visits have been horrible possibly because we got the same server - she took a long time to take the order (despite the fact that its not busy), barely stuck around to make sure we had what we needed, and gave us the check even though we were in the middle of our meal. I think at one point, I was trying to get her attention for water and she asked me what I needed from across the dining room. Not a place that will have my business anymore.

Well my Pizza was $9 which isnt bad , I got 3 snapples. When I got the bill I nearly fell of my chair. Why? Because my bill was 18.75 and my 3 snapples were 8.75. 3 SNAPPLES I COULD 6 2 LITER SODAS FOR THAT PRICE!!! They add in their own tip shame on them. I would given them one, but I did not feel they deserved it after the rude waitress nastily approached me and said THAT WAS THE PRICE. I feel it the drinks were going to be that expensive I should have been informed, since not only the price isnt posted...ANYWHERE NOT EVEN THE MENU!! Never again will I come to this place!!

Fantastic food, great prices. They recently expanded their space, there is now a dining room area which is actually quite nice. It is a little quieter than being in the front. The only downside to this place is the delivery service. They are typically backed up with orders and it can take up to an hour for delivery. You are better off just going in the pick it up unless you dont mind the wait. In the end, it is worth it because the food is phenomenal.

There food here is very good but dont order for catering. I went to pick up my catering order and apparently they forgot to make it. But instead of telling me that they just said itll be a few minutes. Then said it again and again. Over an hour later i finally had the food. I asked for a little discount or some type of compensation for the screw up and got nothing. Not even a sorry. I understand making a mistake but make good on it afterwards.

The hardest thing to do here is NOT get the pizza. Their Palermo pie is legendary but very different from your normal NY pizza with no cheese on top but lots of flavor in the sauce. When you do get to the main menu, always ask for their fresh, handmade pasta. Their calamari is very well done and topping off dinner with their zeppoles is pure heaven. This is a BYOB restaurant but there is a liquor store nearby with a good selection of wine.

I went there on a Wednesday afternoon, there was only one other couple in the restaurant, and our waitress made us move from our seats once our salad was already served "just in case other customers come". There were 4 other empty tables, once we refused, she gave us attitude through out our whole meal. I WILL NEVER COME TO EAT HERE AGAIN AFTER OUR SERVICE... plus the food wasnt all that great.

La Sicilia Pizza & Cafe is the real deal where the owner walks around and speaks Italian with you if you can. They make a great grandma pie and desserts. Expect huge plates of pasta, tripe, and anything else that speaks of Italy. The restaurant is casual and the people come in droves. Dont be surprised if you share a table with strangers. Everyone is family at La Sicilia.

The service was a bit backlogged, it took 30 mins from order to get a salad, then another 30 mins to get our main course. It was a very busy night. I suggest you get there before 7pm when you can get service. When the main course came the meatballs were cool in the middle. The veal was a bit dried out in the braciole but the Rapini (broccoli Rabe) was great.

The staff is very friendly and the place is very clean. The other kind of pizza does look very delicious but I judge pizza places on their plain slices. I thought it was really lacking flavor. The crust is not good either unfortunately. If you want to try any other food it does look very good but if youre looking for plain pies I dont know about that one.

Truly excellent food. If youre there for pizza, get the Palermo pie. Also excellent is their home-made fettuccini. Pasta is always cooked perfectly. The sauces are great. The appetizers are delicious, particularly the long hots, potatoes, and onions dish, spicy and delicious. I cant comment on dessert, as Im never hungry enough after dinner.

This is a great place with even greater prices. The food is excellent with large portions. The staff is excellent and very attentive. Even the bread is fantastic. You cant go wrong here. Even the seafood dishes are excellent. You will be stuffed after eating and still have some left to take home. Your treated like family.

Best clams Oreganata and canolli I ever had. Fusilli pasta was home made and off the charts good. It feels like a family gathering when you go there. The chef is fantastic. Specials are always good. Dont be distracted by the Pizza place look. This place turns out great Italian food, hot to the table, every time.

The customer service I received at this establishment was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at restaurant in my life. The hostess/ floor manager name Ester was rude, unprofessional, and ignorant. My meal came with a side of hair, I would not recommend this establishment.
