My wifes parents have been going to Tai Tung for many decades and my wife has gone there for her own birthday for decades as well. I was introduced to it because of my wifes desire to go there for her birthday every year. As a result I have now gone there at least once or twice a yer for the last 11-12 years now. I think the food is quite good (8 of 10) and the wait staff very nice (7 of 10). The ambience though leaves a lot to be desired, more like a fast food/road side diner/Dennys kind of atmosphere. Honestly if they would just update the inside this would be great. Ultimately though its about the food and I do like it so 4 of 5 stars with the diner like feel being the reason to knock off a star. Oh and they have a parking lot (I think its short walk on Maynard Ave. S. smae block as the restaurant - south of it) where you can park your car then walk a short distance to the restaurant and ask for a token which you can take back to put in the parking payment box making parking free.

Finally came to Bruce Lees favorite restaurant and tried the foods he liked the most. Beef in oyster sauce. Delicious. When you walk in you walk in theough the swinging cowboy doors which is awesome. The menu is on the wall in paper from years and years ago as well as actuall menu. You can see that its been open for ages. I love the old school traditional chinese vibe it has. The beef was nicely cooked and the oyster sauce was good. If you want traditional chinese food this is one of the places to come too. The owner is super friendly. I LOVED THE STORIES OF WHEN HE SERVED BRUCE LEE! Talked to many people there getting tables and they said they loved the food and have been going there for years and many other people agreed. Excited to try more food and see if it continues to be as good as first time!

We went here after the great reviews we saw online. Either people have never eaten good chinese food or Seattle people have a different taste for Chinese then New Yorkers do. First, the service is horrible...almost non existent. We stood at the waiting area for almost 10 minutes without even being acknowledged even though many workers saw us there. The food was ok but no better than lets say what youd get at a mall food court. The prices are pretty cheap so id say thats the most redeeming factor. P.S. id suggest cleaning that disgusting fish tank in the front.

Just went there a few days ago with family. Our group included 4 kids. I have to say this is the VERY BEST Chinese food I have ever had!!!! All the kids loved it too. The Tea was great too.I felt the servers were very attentive and very polite. We plan on making this a family treat every once in a while. The only problem I had was that the bathroom is extremely small and for my 3 year old to use it,the stall door had to remain open. Thankfully no-one came in while we were in there. Still, we will be back!! Thank you

When Im visiting Seattle from California, 99% of the time, my friend, Phil F. make it a point to eat there together. It hasnt changed inside for decades, but thats part of the "Charm." Phil tells me some of the chefs who worked there for a lifetime have passed on as we all will, but somehow Tai Tungs has consistently maintained delicious food. Cant wait to catch a Seahawks or Mariners game and "Walk" there, before or after to eat!!!

Every dish I have ordered from them, seems very unfamiliar to me. I know Chinese food very well but and I do read some Chinese to know what they should be but these people at this place, prepare something very unfamiliar to me, when you receive your order, it does not look or taste like what it should be. STEREOTYPICAL AMERICANS BE AWARE!! This review is for Taitung in Chinatown. Google sent this review to the wrong place!!

Decor: Third-world grungy -- perhaps the grungiest and most threadbare restaurant Ive seen in Seattle in decades. Service: I arrived around 11:00 p.m. on a Friday night. Service was friendly and very attentive. Cost: Two typical main courses and a beer came to $31 with tax. Food: My two dishes were okay, typical of an inexpensive Seattle Chinese restaurant. The meal included a complimentary bowl of broth.

Im not a historian, but I believe this to one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in Seattle. Its not fancy, but the food is consistently good and service is friendly. Its one of those places that has large menu, but even more "specials" posted on the walls as you enter. Complimentary cup of soup is a nice touch. This is one of my go-to restaurants when I cant make up my mind.

This isnt just another chinese restaurant it has a history, this place served BRUCE LEE many many times that it is actually his favorite place to dine in it back then. The menu here is great and have numerous different styles. Dont be afraid to ask the servers about it particularly the sweet and sour pork has 2 different styles of cooking and recipe.

Tai Tung is one of my favorite resturants. They serve a variety of meals to choose from that is well worth the price. Even on the quickest prepared meals, the food is fresh, and prepared in a neat enough way. The people working there are friendly and easy to order with, and lastly, I would definitely recommend just about anyone to try their food.

YUM! Dont let the decor stop you....it doesnt seem to matter to some of the best chefs in the world....like Anthony Bourdain who is pictured with the owner eating here within the last 2 months. The egg rolls are the best Ive ever had! Egg foo young....Delish! If you like traditional Chinese, youll like it here!

Good service. Friendly folks. Clean for a restaurant in the ID. The put stickers are great. The food is serviceable but mostly geared to the tastes of white folks like the Chinese restaurants you went to with grandpa as a child. Everything is code properly, just not seasoned like the more authentic places.

First, they served me instant rice...speechless, how cheap could they be? The restaurant is ran by Hong Kong people, I expected to get Hong Kong food because I just returned from living there for a year. The Curry Beef was cooked no where near in the traditional Hong Kong way. Very dissapointed.

This is Chinese food for white guys and it is average at best. Dont be fooled by the marketing touting 75 years of business. I knew we should have walked out when I saw nothing but white people when we entered but I was with my family and they just wanted to eat after a long day.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years. Whether dining in or carry out------- BEST Chinese food in Seattle. This is ALWAYS my GO TO place for Chinese Food. BTW.....this is the OLDEST Chinese restaurant in Seattle. There is obviously a reason for its longevity

My dad brought me and my extended family from out of town here and I was surprised at how confident he was with the dump hed chosen for us to eat at. But when all was said and done, I walked out of there with a new favorite restaurant (and it still is, nearly 10 years later.)
