We were staying at the Commander Hotel. We walked in the door from the hallway and missed the sign to walk to the beach front hostess. Simple mistake. The waitress walks by with complaints and bitching about us. The hostess saw us and help to seat us. The waitress continued to complain out loud about us. She also went off on the hostess. We hoped she would was not going to be our waitress. When she dropped off plates and said she would be back. We got up and left. We were not going to sit around being insulted by the person who was suppose to serve us food. We have not returned since. Who knows, maybe it is good pizza but we probably will not go back.

My family and I went to grottos last night after winterfest of lights and before we got home about 2hr ride my wife was throwing up and my stomach started to hurt a little!!!! My wife was up all night doing the same I should had know my turn was coming so I got knots about 3am and still have them now I can not believe Ive had food poisoning 2 times in my life and both times due to grottos pizza! Once in Newark few years

This place isnt your "norm" when you think of pizza, but take one bite and youll be hooked! Great food, great selection, the view is spectacular, inside and outside seating, and the servers are always friendly and courteous! Restrooms are a little on the dirty side, but not terrible. All in all, its an enjoyable experience if youre looking for something casual!

Quite possibly the worst pizza Ive ever had. I have eaten Grottos for years and have always thought highly of their pizza but tonight I have never been so disappointed. The plain cheese pizza I had ordered had the equal consistency of potato soup. It was wet, runny, doughy and disgusting. Do yourself a favor and dont go to this Grottos.

Ordered mushroom and onion; they threw cold mushrooms and onions on cold pizza and handed it us. It was all cold and had almost no cheese. They also could not figure out how to give us change from a twenty. Get disappointing.

On the plus side, the location is convenient and the pizza was tasty. The wings however were terrible. Staff dont seem to enjoy working there. And whatever you do dont go to the bathroom in the restaurant. It was disgusting.

Waiter/bartender was great. KEN the manager was awesome. 3 years in a row he has taken care of my self and my son great guy great manager. If I make the trip again next year Ill be sure to stop by

We ordered three pizzas and they came out one by one. The cheese was on the bottom and the sauce on top. It was also not cooked correctly. One part was cold the other was partially burnt.

I would prefer a Grottos somewhere else. THe board walk rush does not get you great service and quality suffers, not to mention the premium you may pay for the board walk.

Grotto is Grotto. They have their own style of pizza and its consistent from shop to shop. Well done white pizza as well. The gelato was also a pleasant surprise:)
