Was in the area and could smell the bbq from the outside. So although I was originally going to the Vietnamese place next door I made a quick detour. I side the place is pretty bare bones. The do have a tv that was playing a Seattle Mariners game when I walked in. A worthwhile distraction for when you are waiting for a to go order. I could see there was a special written on the chalk board for a large pulled pork sandwich and a side order for $7.30. I usually judge bbq places by pulled pork and ribs so I went for the pulled pork sandwich with a side order of beans. Thr beans were really average. Nothing at all ti right home about. The pulled pork lacked an adequate amount of sauce or adequate season. So overall the food was 2 out of 5 stars. To their credit the person working behind the counter was really nice. But overall I dont think is a place I would want to eat at again.

UPDATE: I went back since because I had a suspicion there was more to this and Im glad I did. Every other time Ive been there was quite good. Near perfect sauce on nicely cooked meat and some of the best cole slaw Ive ever had. Maybe I got there too late and they just stop trying after a certain hour, but my ribs were cold and hard, and my sides were stale. The tasty sauce gives it a glimmer of potential, but dont stay open if all youre going to serve me is the old stuff youre about to throw away. I expect fresh food if youre open for business. And if it wast just the time of day, and thats just how things are served there, then this place gets an easy one star. But Im feeling optimistic today.

I read the reviews and was going to pass it up and go to the pizza place next door, but they werent open for lunch yet. I ended up giving this place a try. Im glad I did because it was actually quite good. I tend to be a bit of a snob when it comes to bbq and this place wasnt bad. Ive definitely had a lot worse. I got the brisket and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just goes to show that sometimes the reviews arent accurate. I dunno what those other people were crying about, they must know the people and have bad blood with them or something because those scathing reviews were not in line with my experience. I work down the street from this place and definitely will eat here again.

We loved it. Granted Im not from the south, but my partner and I stopped in there after getting an unwelcome feeling from the Pho place next door. Im so glad we did. The pulled pork sandwich was the special and came with baked beans for $6 and some change. I got a small plate with the brisket, cornbread and side of potato salad. I loved it! I got the mild bbq sauce and we asked for a side of the "hot" which was also good, but a little to much heat for me. I thought this place was much better than smokin petes down on 65th and they have a limited selection of sides, but hey, what we tried was great. So no frills, just good bbq!

Having been disappointed by past non-midwest BBQ experiences I have been wildly pleased with Mannas the dozen times Ive eaten here in the last few years. The taste of food here would compete with almost anyplace in the midwest (Texas to Michigan). Meat quality is excellent. Flavor and quantity is good. Its a hole-in-the wall and the ambiance wont win awards from me, but I continue to drive here from downtown. Ive catered meetings with food from Mannas to cheers from those Im feeding. I vote Mannas with my pocket book!

Look, I cant imagine being anything but thrilled about your experience there. The family that runs it are just the most genuine awesome folks, and more importantly, coming from a former beef producer, the beef and pork are slow cooked and EXCELLENT. Lets face it, we dont live in Seattle to find great BBQ, but honestly this is one of the few places that qualifies, fair prices, excellent portions and fantastic quality. Do yourself a favor and give them a shot!

This is without a doubt the best BBQ you can find anywhere. The people are as kind as can be, the service is great: youre always greeted with a warm smile and the food is without equal with a perfect sauce and brisket (ribs too) cooked to the point of complete satisfaction. Ive been a steady customer for over 10 years and I have yet to be dissatisfied with any aspect of the place.

I do not trust all of these positive reviews. Went here based on them, and my family and I were extremely underwhelmed. We had to stop eating because we were afraid wed get food poisoning. The meat was undercooked, was cold, and was drenched in BBQ sauce, probably to hide the fact that it wasnt smoked and that the quality of meat was poor. Not returning.

My roommates and I have tried a few BBQ places around Seattle, but we think this place is the best! It is so delicious - anyone who reads this should give them a chance, we are concerned that they dont get enough business and will shut down because of the economy. And we dont want that!! Try the brisket, beans, and coleslaw. Yummy...

The pulled pork sandwich was excellent. The meat was soft and juicy and the BBQ sauce was smokey with a hint of sweet n spice; it was just right to hit the spot as I waited to get my car serviced. The price was also very reasonable. I look forward to being in the area again to stop by for another bite.

Being from Texas, this is not how BBQ is done. And so Im commenting because you dont get to claim this is Texas BBQ when its nothing like it. Turkey is dry and definitely not smoked. Not juicy. Not smooth. Continuing the search for good BBQ, just sadly this is not it for me

Do you love BBQ? Then you will love Manna Smoked Bar BQ! This place smokes their meats in house and makes amazing sauce in three levels of spice. I like the medium it has a kick, but is not overwhelming. Great for take out - not really a dine in spot. Enjoy!

Born and raised hill country Texan and this is the best brisket Ive had outside of the state. Ive tried many places in the 15 years Ive lived here, and this place is the BEST! Ive been there five or six times now and am never disappointed.

I ate there last night and am about 75% sure I got food poisoning from there. The food was good, but not worth the nausea and diarrhea that I got about 10 hours after eating there. This may be a one time occurrence, but its tough to say.

The brisket was super tender and smokey and didnt even need sauce, but the sauce was amazing. Slightly vinegary, spicy and sweet, it was exactly what I was looking for. Ill definitely be a return customer and will refer my friends
