Earned every star. Great service, big portions, phenomenal food. The server was quick to get the food out, and made sure we had everything we wanted. The food portions were bigger then expected, but we finished it all, because it was so good. Even though the portion are big, the price is considerably cheap. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend. Come hungry, and enjoy

We tried the soy paste sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) and dolsot bibimbap. Both were quite decent but not remarkable. The banchan portions were underwhelming, though they did replenish them for free when we asked for more. There is a variety of sundubu jjigae options on the menu with various additions. Prices are reasonable and the combination meals are a good deal.

I love korean food and this place is close by so i go there a lot.(: The decorations are kind of ancient but still got a little modern feel to it, I like it.(: They have a lot of good food and you can also BBQ if you want. You get free side dishes as appetizers, i always get bibimbap cause i love bibimbap :] The food is great! Service is nice as well.

Soondubu (soft tofu soup) is one of my favorite foods and they do it wonderfully here! Clam and beef in a spicy broth <3 The soup comes boiling to your table. Let your egg cook in the soup for about a minute before diving in. I love dipping a spoonful of rice into my soondubu. I love watching the Korean news on the big screen they have too.

Had a great lunch here. Sampled everything from bi bim bop to a variety of tofu hot pots. Delicious seafood pancake appetizer, crisp with a taste of fried onions. Loved all the kimchi and vegetables accompanying the meal. Definitely want to go back and put the table-top grills to work on some bbq.

Used to my favorite restaurant in PORTLAND but when my partners meal was brought to us (his birthday meal) it was super small like they ran out of what he ordered. $20.00 for a tiny skillet and tiny bowl of soup is insane we never had this problem before. How unfortunate for us all.

Definitely overpriced for the so-so food quality and choices. Serve was ok. But never went again after one visit, especially after a friend said the same thing after one visit. Luckily we have more choice in the area. A new Korean spot seems just opened in the Winco complex.

Very good Korean food, though the cook-at-your-table combination family platters arent an especially great deal. All the sides youd expect are present and accounted for. The place itself isnt particularly fancy, but its comfortable. Worth a look for any fan of bulgogi.

WOW this place has more than 1 star means Korean food in PDX has very low expectations. No freaking way few strips of frozen low quality 삼겹살 (porkbelly) should cost more than $5 and talk about MSG.... Yall thirsty coz of MSG not a sign of dehydration.

Bought supper for my son and wife there. they were very helpful in finding a way for us to pay for this, since we are on the east side of the country. My son said the food was great, and he is fuzzy about food having been a cook many years.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! The food is always great and the servers are really friendly. I would recommend the soft tofu soup and short rib combo. Thank you Sokongdong for the great food and service all the time!

Been going here in this restaurant with my Family for quite some time. Always great service and outstanding food quality. This is by far one of the cleanest restaurants Ive seen here in Portland.

The food was pretty good, although there was very little selection of meat to grill. There is also a two plate minimum to use the grill, and it was very pricey for what we got. Two people for $65!

Theres really not much competition. Sokongdong is one of two real Korean restaurants in SE Portland. However, Id say its pretty good. Although, its a little pricey.

Lists itself as having vegetarian options but when asked to make sure something was vegetarian, it still ended up with meat in it.
