We have tried several places in tacoma looking for well made breakfast. We were sad when Wallabes went out of business :( So we tried out The Poppy Seed and the first time my 2 year old demolished a plate of sprinkle pancakes. Which is a generous portion for a guy his size. They have had eggs benedict as a special and that was fantastic. Thier lemon poppy seed waffles are delisious and they make a wonderful chicken fried steak! And this last time they had a lemon poppyseed pancake with raspberry butter.. didnt even need syrup. thats my favorite so far. The service has been vary good every time we have been. (as a server myself thats high praise) They keep the coffee coming (and its good coffee) And on our last visit my friend had to step out to nurse her baby on the park bench outside and the server was kind enough to take her food back and keep it hot for her until she got back! Our Favorite place to eat breakfast! And we havent had to wait for a table once!

I have never been so humiliated in my life! After hearing great things about this cafe and reading the positive reviews, I decided to take my family here for breakfast. I really wish I wouldnt have. As soon as we walk in the waitress asked very loudly "do you speak English?" After we told her yes she said "Good, then Ill be able to understand you" at this point everyone was looking at us while she took us to our table and told us to sit down. At this point we felt really uncomfortable and decided to leave. She wasnt very pleasant on our way out either making a comment Im glad I couldnt hear.

Spring Lake Cafe is a popular luncheon spot in Fircrest, with reasonably priced sandwiches, soups and a daily quiche - plus a daily blue plate-type special. Service is generally brisk and food comes out quickly and hot. I frequently get the daily quiche plate ($10) - a dream for quiche lovers because it changes all the time. Note that it is very tight in here. People with mobility issues may have problems moving through the dining room. Also, they have German Dinners about once a month and word is the food is fantastic...check for dates and make reservations in advance!

Went for breakfast on a Saturday. It was bustling, but not too crowded. Homey atmosphere and delicious food for a reasonable price. This is the only restaurant Ive visited that can make a perfect over-medium egg! Ill definitely be back.

Amazing food with friendly, personal & attentive service. Im a super finicky eater, and they never bat an eye when I ask for substitutions, or omissions. Best penne pasta Ive ever had. Even my picky 6 year old cleans his plate!

This is our special spot to go when we head out for camping or hiking and where we went the day my husband proposed! Its so snug and sweet and the wait staff are always kind. Their potatoes OBRIEN are some of the best!

Lunch here is pretty good. We had a salad and it was a little skimpy for the price, but the ingredients were fresh and flavorful and the service was friendly. The coffee was good and they kept it coming.

The food Is good and the staff friendly. My only issue is the noise level. When they are busy, its hard to hold a conversation. Im not sure there is a way to resolve that problem is so small an area.

Small local cafe in Fircrest, Wa. The food is good and they often have very affordable and tasty happy hour specials for breakfast. Mostly older crowd goes here and the vibe is relaxed.

The best! I was really impressed with the quality of food preparation here. They could easily be a go-to cafe even in the heart of Seattle.

Service was quick and the food was pretty good. For the North-West the sauage gravy was pretty good. It wasnt Southern, but still good.
