Tsing Tao is an incredible experience, and equally so for both the quality of the cuisine and of the hospitality. Unlike most restaurant visits, where you might know the name of the server, at Tsing Tao, the Sun family is as welcoming as your next-door neighbor. The fact that the restaurant has been a main-stay destination of Wilmette/North Shore residents for over 30 years not only speaks to the quality of the sustenance, but it explains how the Suns are close with at least two generations most of their customers families. My family have been patrons of Tsing Tao for 22 years and counting. Our 23, 21, 10 and 9-year old sons feel like Tsing Tao is more of an extension of our kitchen, without the hassle of either cooking or cleaning up. We havent seen a menu in 20 years, as the main hosts, Richard in the kitchen, and Robert on tables, make sure that we know about five different variations of any menu offering. Robert has no problem inventing new offerings and his brother has no issues creating them. Also onsite are R&Rs wives, ensuring that the carry-out and dining rooms are running smoothly. In short, no question is a bad one at Tsing Tao. If you want great food, greater conversation and superior repartee (especially from wannabe golfers), then this is a sure bet.

If I were Chinese, I would buy this place. I am not sure if these folks are really Chinese. They seem too wild and crazy....Robert and Richard have a great act. One plays straight to the other. Ask for Richards Chicken, but ask his brother to make it. Richard is very skinny and we think he wants to win a weight losing contest. I mean he cannot be Chinese...Gosh, he weighs less than his wife and even less than his nephew. You gotta see this guy. He also loves in the basement and that is kinda spooky. But the place is great and they can cook without MSG....Lunch is the best deal. Ask for their $400.00 bottle of champagne... Oh, there are two very hot babes that were hired to give the place an Asian flair. They claim they are married....but live at the Orrington Hotel in Evanston.....very strange. Oh my o my I said that Richard loves in the basement. Not true...He lives in the basement. Great place for Saturday nite....Oh, watch out for Justin. He is a wild kid that hangs around the place and bits off the heads of chickens...It is a Chinese thing....Ask him to show you.

Family-style, casual restaurant with exceptional customer service and hospitable staff. We overlooked it for several year and truly regret not having dined here sooner. From the tea to the soft crab rangoons and rich entrees, Tsing Tao provides exceptional food with great prices. Robert is wonderful and makes the experience feel like you’re right at home for a family meal. I HIGHLY recommend it out of all Asian cuisine locations in the Chicagoland area.

Tsing Tao is the best Chinese Restaurant in the Chicago Land ! As a Winnetka resident, I love the approximity to this great restaurant. I love the good ambience in this restaurant - I do not have to travel all the way to Chicago or Evanston for high class food experience. We have been coming here for 16 years and always look forward to our weekly fiest with excitement. Highly recommend to anyone who has not been here before!!!!!

Called in for pick up, got to the restaurant saw many people already seated at the table, which was promising. Crabragoon was good, cream cheese filling was with reasonable portion. Orange chicken was good. But sweet and sour pork as well and the grief rice and noodle had no had flavor. If we ever go back, would only go back for the orange chicken... Nothing else.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Chicago area!!! I have been going here for 20+ years with my family and have always thoroughly enjoyed myself. The Princess Shrimp, Mongolian Beef, and Richards Chicken are all family favorites. Richard and Robert are some of the most engaging and sincere people to talk to.

We love the Moo Shu Pork, "Richards Chicken", and Princess Chicken. Customer service provided by Robert, Richard, et al is very friendly, in fact, over the top experiences for our family, not just once, but for the past ten years! I grew up eating at this local Chinese restaurant which makes me bias but now that I live in the city I drive 30 minutes to get it whenever I can! It is so much better than any other Chinese place Ive tried in the city! Totally worth it!

Super friendly staff almost to meet here because there was a lot of white people. But Im glad I did the food is actually amazing ask for Richards Chicken its not on the menu. And Mongolian beef super tender not authentic but good food

The only food that disappointed me was the crab ragoon, it had no cream cheese. Everything else was as I like it. Service was good. We went during rush hour on Saturday and got a table in two minutes.

The worse chinese food ever. Crab rangoon totally over cooked. Sweet & Sour pork was inedible. Could not cut it with a knife, never mind chewing.
