One of the best places to eat in Tacoma. It is tough to get in - and you may have to wait 20 to 30 minutes during peak hours, so come prepared with a newspaper and relax on the bench outside - it is WORTH It. To the reviews that said it was slow and you wont be coming back - GOOD - dont come back, the rest of us know it is worth the wait. The food is incredible, and you cant rush good food. If you want garbage, go to iHop or Dennys. They source their food and coffee locally, and they have some of the most amazing specials. The scones are delectable, and the Scrambles - they are out of this world. The portion sizes are extremely generous, so come hungry! I sometimes have to order a 1/2 order as a meal there is enough to carry you through the entire day. Again - this little gem is probably the best kept secret in Tacoma - I actually dont want to share it as I love going there so much I want to keep it to myself, however, they deserve the business and everyone should get the opportunity to enjoy a breakfast or brunch there - it is like going to Paris, everyone should visit at least once in their lives - fortunately since I live in Tacoma, I can continue to and will always patronize this 5 Star establishment.

This is the kind of place where you get a few cups of coffee in before breakfast arrives. Like others have said its an itty bitty joint with only a few tables. Once you get a table order right away becuase they have a little bitty kitchen and it takes time to get your food. I want to say on average we wait 30 minutes once food has been ordered to get it on the table. But its nice sometimes to not feel rushed and the food is totally worth the wait! Thier plate size pancakes are fabulous and you have to have the bacon scramble! We have been lucky that our two year old is patiant because we have brought him several times. Fortunatly they have a few little toys, coloring books and puzzles to keep him busy :) Outstanding food! I give the place 5 stars. I would have put it down to 4 for the waiting but I read and was aware of that before I ever went to eat there. So with the right expectations its a perfect gem for breakfast!

We have Been here 5 times but have only actually eaten here once.....the lobby to sit down is far too small so it is always full. We would be willing to wait if the waitress would communicate with us in any way to give us a wait time but instead she makes eye contact, turns around and acts as if we are not even there.....we have just walked out every time. That is $40+ lost for this establishment each time and we have watched many others experience the same thing. With that said, the 1 time we did eat was amazing! I had an apple sausage skillet dish that I have been craving ever since. This place has some amazing potential of being a very successful breakfast joint but it NEEDS more seating and more hospitable staff. Please address this problem guys! Our money is continually going to competitors in the area and at some point we will have to give up trying to give you our business. Thanks!

We went here based on other google reviews and my husband wanted to try a new place. Granted there are more than 4 tables, maybe about 10 but more than half will only seat 2 people. luckily there was a table open for the 4 of us, but had we arrived 3 minutes later and we would have to have waited. The food is very good and the portions are large (the pancakes are about ten inches in diameter). Since the establishment is small in scale the menu offers a good variety but not everything and you will have a wait if more than one meal is being prepared for them to come out at the same time. But the food was hot and obvious that it was all just prepared (to the point where you have to blow on it to cool it down to eat, which is a nice change from larger establishments). Will probably eat here again.

This is my joint! Pat and Chad do an excellent job running this business as a husband and wife team. I read a lot of complaints about wait time so please understand that only two people operate this place and it is worth every second of wait time. I have probably tried everything once. The OATMEAL is my favorite I am a runner and on occasion our group checks in together. Pat is always able to acccomdate us. I love sea salt and they have thee best selection out there. LOCAL ~ FRESH ~ GREAT PEOPLE May God continue to bless you two and your cafe. You will see me soon! #NWSOLESISTAHS #advoEMPOWERED #OMC

Slow But Decent Its hard to desire the sort of foods you can easily make at home; and Old Milwaukee serves the same tired "syrup" and HFCS Smuckers Jelly youd find anywhere. In m many respects, it is the sort of place youve been to a hundred times. With that said: their home fries are perfectly cooked and seasoned with garlic oil; their portions are large; the sea salt mixture at the table is delicious. If you cant cook your own breakfast, its worth it. If you can, its probably a pass. And be prepared to wait about an hour for your food.

This is a true mom and pop shop that has been serving up great food for a couple of decades though not always at this location. Pat, (the mom,) remembered my old running order from 15 years ago when I went in today and Chad, (the pop,) altered the ingredients a bit when I told them that I was going low carb. Great food, large portions, wonderful small town atmosphere. As part of a small town, this business supports other local businesses and all things Tacoma as well as taking on the fight against breast cancer whole heartedly.

This place is awesome! Run by a wonderful couple! One cooks and the other serves! The food is fantastic l, with plenty of options to satisfy any breakfast craving. The have a plethora of hot sauces to choose from as well as some specialty salts! The atmosphere is also pretty cool. If there is a downside it is that you often have to wait a considerable amount of time for a table and then for your food. I never bothers us because we just chat while we wait.

The food is incredible, the pancakes are HUGE and the scrambles are always piping hot and delicious. As others have said... be prepared to wait. Its a tiny place but please remember this its run by only two people-- if youre not looking for a leisurely, relaxed breakfast, try Dennys or the pancake house. My partner and I keep coming back, for the food and for the lovely hospitality. We love it here.

The best traditional breakfast in Tacoma! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. You might have to wait for a bit to get one of the few tables but this is prime time to chat with your breakfast companion or read a book. The food is delicious, fresh, and expertly prepared by Chad and delivered by Pat, the kindest lady in town. You wont regret it if you visit, but dont come when youre in a hurry.
