On Sunday we were attending a meeting at the library and I figured I would grab a couple of sandwiches for lunch (around 1:45). I stopped in and saw what they had – not looking that great but I asked how old they were. The young lady said they had to be less than three days old (huh - I was thinking hours) because they throw them out at 3:00PM on the third day. I asked if she could be more precise and so she looked at them and said they would be throwing them out that day. If my math is correct – I could apparently pay full price (not cheap either) for a 3 day old sandwich or wait 1 hour and go “dumpster diving” and get it for free. Obviously I did not plan on doing the latter but it seems since the chance of selling them in the next hour was slim, I wanted 2 of the remaining 4 sandwiches and considering they are three days old – they might offer a discount – Nope. Perhaps I am spoiled – but I prefer my deli sandwiches a little fresher.

At first I was cool with coming there, and then I had a rude encounter with the cashier Abby. She decided to talk down to me all because I asked her if a pastry was still in stock? Then Abby abrasively and aggressively tells me dont you see it right there, and made more inappropriate comments. Her behavior got out of hand. I was a routine customer there, and Abby assumed I was into her instead of asking a question. Which led to her telling me one day how I should be grateful to know her, and how I needed to grow my beard out to attract her. I looked at that woman like she was crazy, and I had no shame in making another coffee shop my regular coffee shop.

LOVE the play area for kids! So many different toys and structures for them to play on and having it in a secure room made it that much easier for me to relax and let my little one enjoy his play time. Their coffee bar was good and had a nice selection of pastries. Only critique is that I wish the table area for parents in the play room was a bit better setup. Just felt like it wasnt well thought out and some of the tables rocked a lot which is not ideal with a bunch of 1 year olds running around.

I would definitely recommend another visit, Bruce. Sounds like your old post made a difference and they have changed policies. They do discount their sandwiches now and I believe shortened it to a 24 hour turnover for them. Also, if you go before 7 a.m. they offer $1 Batdorf & Bronson drips. The food I have had there has been great, fresh (even the "day old") and all are locally made. I will be there often with my 4 year old when the *real* rainy season hits.

I visit the Frog n Kiwi a few times a week and could not be happier with the service (always a smile greeting me) and the convenience. I enjoy the variety of their warm and cold drinks as well as their fresh food. I prefer their quiet atmosphere as opposed to the hustle and bustle of a Starbucks. I have several children who use the library often so relaxing at the Frog n Kiwi makes for the perfect pitstop for a telecommuter like me.

This is a cute little coffee shop next to the University Place Library. It has good coffee and great bakery treats plus wine if you like. Its also part of a play area for toddlers thru pre-K in a separate area (from the cafe) but there is a charge to use this play area. Its a nice place to sit and read that book you just borrowed from the library.

Just had a party here on Sunday and it was AMAZING! We rented the whole place out. The girl who helped out was so great! She changed the music for me to fit the kind I liked, was very patient and helpful throughout the whole thing! Loved this place!! My friends and I even want to come and let the kids play here again. Thanks for being awesome.

Needs more than one bathroom, but otherwise, pretty great. The kids loved it. Amended: Worst rude and careless customer service ever. Plus.. they handed me warm apple juice. Ever had warm apple juice? Its disgusting. Sure the kids like it, but I dont want to come here again.

First time here and I had a great experience. The drink was very tasty and my daughter had so much fun in the playground area :-) I call this a win-win place where mommy finally enjoys her coffee and baby has fun! Thank you!

Customer service is alien to the staff! Heres a hint, first come first serve. Its not pick and choose. Coffee was OK, nothing special. Better places in Up to get your coffee fix
