Giving a 2 star because Ive had one okay experience before. Second time I come in, I bring my wife and another couple. Orders were all screwed up. We all ordered around the same time, but they were brought to the table so spread apart (like 5 minutes or more) My friend asked for scrambled eggs and sent back the sunny side up he received. Our waters werent refilled and our pancakes had a sour taste, mine and my friends. Even our bills were completely incorrect. It went from funny to frustrating. It was a somewhat busy Saturday morning in the defense of the one server, but goodness, I wonder if our table was the only one dealing with so much. Dont plan on coming back.

We recently moved to Richmond and were looking for a breakfast place. I grabbed a brochure for The Luncheonette at a little hotel in shockoe slip. This morning we came here and absolutely LOVE it! Its quaint and charming with a retro decor and the BEST music mix playing! I ordered the meaty omelette with potatoes and toast. The omelette was the best Id had in a long time and it was huge. The potatoes were well spiced and delicious. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The only small disappointment was that they didnt have decaf coffee but it certainly isnt a deal breaker. We will DEFINITELY be back!! And soon!!

Now that Im going to Richmond more because my step son is attending VCU. I have a few gems around town. This hole in the wall has just a few tables and its classic Americana. The Men in the kitchen can be seen hustling away making breakfast. The waitress didnt have a clue...and was hurting because her help was late. She was very nice and I was prepared for that because I was briefed on the situation. It was entertaining and the food was delicious. After breakfast cooks shouldered up and through theyre heads back like,"Good Huh". I was like...."Yea that food was good" They smiled back and went to work. Great

Amazingly friendly service and amazingly delicious food. This is a cozy place-there are two tables for 4 and three tables for 2 inside, plus a few stools at the bar, and a table for 4-6 outside. Thats it, so expect a wait if you arrive during the rushes or with a big party. The wait is worth it. The food is delicious! We had a breakfast plate, a hoagie sandwich, and the hot dogs, and it was all delicious, cooked perfectly, and served quickly. The atmosphere inside is old-school, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Came here for a Saturday brunch with my girlfriend and we were both very impressed. Its a casual place with a retro atmosphere, and every part of our meal was amazing. Sweet tea was sweetened to perfection, and everything we took a bite of (sides and all) was a "wow" moment. The tables have trivial pursuit to play while you wait. Portions are great, staff is friendly, and leftovers were still INCREDIBLE two days later. We will definitely be returning! As good as it gets!

The service was okay. Drinks came pretty fast. The food though... terrible. I got the Shockoe Omelet, it was way over cooked. Only the inside was edible and even that wasnt good. The little potatoes that came with it were oily and lacked flavor. My husband got the buffalo burger, I tried an onion ring and they tasted old/stale. Didnt even finish it. At first glance it looks like a cool little 80s hop but I was really disappointed. Wont ever eat here again.

Went for brunch back in May around 11am. Was surprised by the size as there were only about 7 tables, but luckily a group was leaving so my 2 friends and I were able to get a 4 person table. I had the waffle and it was delectable. I ate the whole thing! We all left satisfied. The staff was very welcoming and I would gladly return, but probably not with a large group of friends as wed likely disturb other diners in such close quarters.

The Luncheonette is a great neighborhood restaurant. We have lived in the Bottom for 3 years and have been coming here since they opened. The food is always great and the staff and owners are super friendly. The little donuts or brownies they use for garnish the meals with is always a treat. Their chorizo is awesome. Very old school feel and great just to relax and enjoy your meal.

Had breakfast last weekend at the Luncheonette. Biscuits and gravy were the best Ive had in a very long time. My brother had eggs with hash browns and sausage, which were also very tasty. The presentation was all very nice and the atmosphere was fantastic. The owners/workers behind the counter were very friendly as well. Would definitely go back next time Im in Richmond!

Great atmosphere and food was nice and slightly overpriced. Hospitality little slow and I dont think they have dusted or cleaned area in quite a while which is not in line with good hospitality practice, but overall a nice experience and would eat there again. They also offer alcohol and military discount.

The Luncheonette was a wonderful experience for me!!! Brad was very warm and welcoming and made our food with perfection and love. I walked in the snow storm for food because it was one of the only places open all day, and I wouldnt have chose a better place. If you havent yet, Id definitely recommend you go!

This place definitely beats River City Diner which is right around the corner. I had one of the best omelettes Ive ever eaten and the chicken and waffle rolls were delicious! Atmosphere is light-hearted and fun and the wait staff are very friendly. I will definitely be back!

Most delicious biscuits and gravy Ive had in decades. Rivals my own and Bob Evans. 4 stars because of breakfast on a weekday with only one other table taking far too long, kinda pricey too. Asked for more ice in water and got maybe 5 cubes so luke warm tapewater to drink.

This place has it all. Retro diner vibes? Check. Excellent food? Check. Great prices? Check. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy with two eggs, any style. The gravy was delicious and the eggs were niiiiice n fluffy. Ill be dining there again very soon!

What a cheerful place to have dinner. We drove fifty miles to get there and it was well worth the drive. The food was wonderful and the service was great! You have to try the strawberry- lemonade butter cakes. We will be back! Jimmy and Linda

Ordered Togo food and it arrived very hot and fresh and even though they were out of a menu item they offered an alternative suggestion that was equally satisfying . Great experience and good hot greasy American food;great late night treat.
