I LOVE it here! This place feels like HOME! They have an extremely diverse and eclectic customer base, but Everyone is So Kind and Sweet and Respectful! It just makes you feel so warm and cozy inside--Everyone is treated with decency and respect! We are ALL Human beings! Please leave your classifications and cliques behind you before you enter the front doors! The food here is Beyond AHHH-MAZING, and Insanely Underpriced for such a High Quality and Caliber! Ive already had their 3-egg omelet; (You can actually taste the freshness in their eggs! I swear, What do they do--Give them to you the same day the hen lays them? LOL! And, DEFINITELY TRY their 2 kinds of sausages--Italian OR German! They are ALL Spectacular! And, they are NOT your regular "Grocery-store" quality! THEYRE HIGH-END Custom-cut Butcher Quality! As in, EVEN BETTER Than Whole Foods or Wegmans!!!); their 100% Fresh Lamb Gyro; their Chopped Steak with Gravy, and EVERYTHING HAS BEEN BEYOND AHHH-MAZING & EXCEPTIONAL!!! Admittedly, their sides are just "normal", but considering the fact that youll still be smiling when you walk out the front door with your tummy stuffed to its limits, and with not one dent to your pockets, and youll be craving their food until The Next Time... DONT PASS THIS PLACE W/O STOPPING IN--EVER!!!

Been going here since I first came to the city, a total of roughly 10 times (too many) and for a place with so much potential, it continuously fails at every chance. For starters, this is owned by the same scumbag who manages velvet (strip club) amongst other parts of the cities corrupt underground. If you live in Richmond you know about the scandals, and that alone should speak for itself. The only, and I mean ONLY good thing about this place is that its 24 hours, which along with its convenient near the bars location is how it manages to stay in business. Food portions here are significantly smaller while prices remain above what most places charge. Food is always too dry, I finally stopped going here when I found hair in my food. They do not put a pot of coffee on the table, you have to literally yell several times over the always packed crowd to get a refill which is rarely hot enough to dissolve sugar. You can spend a full day waiting on service, Ive foolishly waited here for as much as (no exaggeration) 1&1/2 hours on a medium sized crowd. 2 thumbs down. Unless of course you have been drinking heavily, take the time to go drive to cookout or any 7-11, you will find better service, cheaper prices, and better food than this hole in the wall.

Waited almost an hour for scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, and a biscuit. When I received it everything was cold. I asked if I could have warm grits, atleast. The waitress returned with my same bowl smothered in butter. I know that it was my same bowl, because of the way I sprinkled the pepper on top ( they dont add pepper to the grits) and I didnt ask for butter. When I asked to speak with a manager ( who was my waiter) and my tab; he came (seemed agitated) and hurriedly gathered my plates up and said he would comp the tab, they are short on help. Now mind you everyone around me received their food- which is what made me ask a waitress what was going on with my food. I dont know what happened or what was going on, but Ill NEVER return. I should have known when he ignored me and continued to speak on the the phone when I arrived, the girl at the bar motioned for me to sit down, and after 10 minutes realizing he was finally my waiter. But I wanted grits, was hungry, and this used to be me & my daughters favorite place to visit before taking her to school ( that was about four years ago). Ive never been treated so rudely anywhere, next time Ill just go to Perlys like I should have in the first place.

We arrived at 3rd street late night at approximately 2am. We ordered shortly after being seated. 1 hour later we had no food and the waitress said she was going to check on everything for us. 1 of our 4 plates came out and it was ice cold as if it had been sitting there for half an hour. The other 3 dishes where not ready and no where to be seen. We asked the waitress to honestly tell us if the food was about to be ready or not and she could not say it was...so we considered just leaving. I spoke up about if there was any compensation for this wasted time and all she said was to let her know if we were leaving or not so she could tell the cooks. I called back after getting home, very frustrated, and spoke to the manager on duty - KELLY...she could do nothing for me and said "how do I know you were even here, anybody could call and say what happened to you". In my opinion this was the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced in a restaurant, be it fast food, late night, or any other kind. I used to enjoy going here but after this expeirence I will never go back.

Me & My Best Friend always came here @ all times of day or night. Really enjoyed the food, atmosphere & the staff was always friendly & on point with everything. But my experience today (6/22/2017) was the WORSE I have ever had in any Restaurant Ive ever been in. What made it worse was the manager was stand @ the front on the phone once She was done she just walked away NOT asking if she could help us or ANYTHING. Tip 2 running a good business is NOT hiring people who R so High they Dont know. If they R coming or going. The server took my best friends order Never took mine when I started 2 give her my order she gets mad bc she thinks Im changing my order. She takes it then doesnt even put it in so Im sitting there while my best friends is eating. We came here 2 eat together NOT SEPARATELY. NEVER AGAIN!!!! One star was REALLY 2 MUCH 2 GIVE!!!! And what TOPPED IT OFF! Was as we were trying 2 pay & leave R server asked us how many was in our party 2 B seated.

Went with my 2 sons on a whim. I loved the early industrial architecture of the building. It has that old charm to it. My sons both had the bacon cheeseburger w/fries and they both loved it. I had the gyro w/fries, which was also delicious and more than filling. My kids already plan to go back there on our next trip up to Richmond. The only thing I would suggest is that it seems like it could turn less family friendly later in the evening, but I was basing that on the fact that the bar area was located close to the regular seating.(The bar tender even made a point to remind two patrons at the bar that there were kids there, even though they didnt say anything above PG-13, but I still appreciated it.) Its a great place with good food, and I will be trying the dessert next visit.

Came in around 1:30 a.m. and the place was basically dead. I ordered a sandwich and a beer. After 30 minutes I asked about the beer for the 2nd or 3rd time and the waitress said it was 2 a.m. and they couldnt see alcohol anymore. So I didnt get my beer, but that didnt stop her from trying to put it on our bill at the end of the meal. As for the ham and egg sandwich, I could have made a better one at home, and it came with the wrong side even after the waitress came back to the table to verify which side I wanted. As far as I can tell this place only exists to funnel liquor into VCU students. Bland food, terrible service, dont bother going here.
