Salt Lake County closes Chinese restaurant in Midvale Food » Restaurant had excessive violations. The Salt Lake Tribune The Salt Lake County Health Department closed Rice King restaurant in Midvale on Thursday for creating an "imminent health hazard due to excessive critical violations." According to a notice on the department website, the restaurant, at 755 E. Fort Union Blvd., received 45 code violations. Among the problems: • Raw meat contaminating clean dishes. • Dish soap contaminating raw shrimp. • Food being prepared on the floor. • Rice noodles being stored in a cardboard box. • Tooth brush below drink dispenser. • Container of food stored on the floor. • Single service items being re-used. The restaurant will reopen when all the violations are corrected and inspectors deem it fit for customers.

I order from here because they deliver to my work.I love the Assorted Crispy Vegetables it is my go to for this place. My favorite Chinese food is Lo Mein, but I do not like the Lo Mein here, it is thick and has a weird texture. I also do not like the quality of shrimp they serve. I have had the Cashew Chicken and after being surprised by it being brown sauce instead of the lighter white sauce, it was pretty good, but the cashews tasted a little stale to me. The Lemon Chicken is pretty bland. All in all they are just okay. The guy who takes orders on the phone is really not that nice either, I be ordering and he just is like yeah, yeah, yeah, that it? I will say thank you so much, and he just makes a grunt and hangs up. He is funny, lol If you order before noon they are really fast to deliver, so that is nice.

Im only being honest here... Last night I ordered the shrimp fried rice and something that was suppose to be sweet and sour chicken, only there was little meat. Anyway, after about 3 to 4 hours of eating this food I started feeling nauseous. It wasnt to bad at this point so I just went on with my night thinking I could shake the feeling. I was wrong! About 2 hours later I was on the toilet with my head in a bucket feeling sicker than i have ever been in my life. I am 34 years old and the pain in my stomach was so bad that I just felt like I wanted to die. Was it food poisoning ? I dont know for sure but i know because the way I felt last night and even today as I write this I will never eat Chinese food from a restaurant ever again.

I would encourage anyone that is interested in eating here to do so!! Highly recommend.. The food was absolutely delicious. Looking at some of the reviews Im disappointed in how rude people can be. This is my second time eating here this week. If i would of went off of the reviews I would of missed out on great service and food! This restaurant is not a whole in the wall, it may not be fancy but it is VERY CLEAN. My food was made fresh and served with a smile. Love this place!!! THANK YOU RICE KING!!

For a place called "Rice King" their rice is horrible. Like cardboard. (Im part Asian, and a "rice snob", but you may not care about your rice like I do.) Other than that, their food tastes good -- not spectacular, but good. The portions are good, and the prices decent. You wont feel cheated. They are also fast to fill to-go orders. Which makes them very convenient for working lunches and dinners. All in all, its a very good place to get a quick fix for Chinese food / Not a place to take a date.

Horrible service!!! It took over an hour to get our order after we were told it would take 30 mins. Once the order got here, we were missing the pot stickers. When we called they said that they just put extra egg rolls in with our lunches. That is not what we ordered, but if we wanted to have the pot stickers delivered...then we would have to pay the difference from the extra egg rolls and the pot stickers. I will never order from them again, and neither will anybody in the office.

I called in for the "CHEFS SUGGESTIONS" General chicken, (usealy called general chu) and 10 cheese wontons. Worst wontons I ever had. they were soggy as if they were cooked in the microwave. The chicken had no spice at all and was very soggy. again as if it was cooked in a microwave. I paid 14.50, that is very pricey for food that i had to shove down the disposal. The portions size was very small. I wouldnt even recommend for people not liked.

Used to love ordering from here. But the last 2 times have been bad. Forgot a chicken dish 2 times ago. Then ordered again last night. Spent over 50 dollars and they didnt give me sweet and sour sauce for my sweet and sour chicken and didnt get my ham fried rice I paid extra for just got plain white rice. And the food was barely warm. Think I will start checking out other chinese places around. Its said I was a good customer.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! CHARGED ME FOR WHAT I ORDERED BUT ONLY GAVE ME SOME OF MY ORDER! I CALLED THEM AND WAS TOLD THEY RAN OUT! I TOLD THEM TO COME PICKUP WHAT THEY LEFT ME AND GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK . THEY SAID THEY WILL BRING ME WHAT I WAS MISSING! IT HAS BEEN OVER AN HOUR AND STILL NOTHING. LIED AND CHEATED ME! - I WENT TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH THE STATE AND FOUND OUT THEY WERE SHUT DOWN BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT!

Ordered lunch form here today and I wish I was kidding but instead of HAM fried rice, I got HOT DOG fried rice. That to me is just an insult. Also ordered Kung Poa chicken which didnt taste anything lie it should have and shrimp and french fries for my little one... But since they were out of fries she got hot dog rice too. If I wanted hot dogs & rice, Id have cooked myself.

Maybe this place is under new management (since I started ordering from them). Ive only ever had delivery, and Ive been ordering from them for about a year now. The delivery is always fast, and I have no problems with the food. I usually order something with seafood, or something vegetarian. My boyfriend always gets sweet and sour chicken (and seems to be happy with it).

Good prices and the food is not bad at all, some of their staff seem to have a hard time understanding English which makes it hard to communicate with them, but I have yet to have a bad experience with them. We have had to come back twice because we were giving the wrong order but they have apologized and giving us the correct order right away.

The Walnut chicken is awesome. I would give this place an 8-9 out of 10 rating and that is coming from a picky Chinese food eater who will normally only eat at the Mandrin up in Bountiful (those who have eaten there will know what I am talking about). Overall very good place - Ive been twice and plan to keeping on going.

The worst chinese food I ever had all our food was soggy and and the delivery driver took 2 hours we called in and they said it was going to be 1 hour and he couldnt find us this is the most disgusting thing I ever had if you like disgusting cold soggye food and waiting forever for it like us come eat here yuck
