I was craving Chinese food in Scottsdale, and stumbled across mention of this place as genuine N.Y. Style Chinese. Having been raised on the east coast, I grew up eating great ethnic food in general. I love Chinese food, and havent found great Chinese here in Scottsdale since my favorite closed back in 2001. Reading the various reviews, I noticed that while some of their ratings were pretty high on various review sites, there appeared to be some inconsistency in the diners experiences. I was wanting good Chinese enough that I decided to take my chances and perhaps find my new favorite Chinese place. I decided to eat in since it was about 15 minutes from home for me, so that I could enjoy the food right out of the kitchen, piping hot. When I arrived there were no diners seated in the restaurant, so no problem with getting a table. It is a small place, with no real ambience, but that didnt really matter - I was there for the food. As there appeared to be no table service, I approached the counter and ordered Hot & Sour soup, which many reviewers had raved about, the House Egg Foo Young which had also gotten good feedback, and substituted fried rice for white rice for only a dollar extra. I also requested that broccoli be added to the Egg Foo Young. The young lady working the counter was perfectly friendly and helped me make the adjustments I wanted. I sat down and watched as a steady stream of people came in to pick up take-out orders. Most were apparently regulars which I took as a good sign. My Hot & Sour soup came out very quickly, along with crispy Won Ton chips with a sweet dipping sauce. My soup was good, but not over the top. It was bit thinner than I anticipated, and I cant say it was the best Hot & Sour soup I have ever had. For the price, it was just fine however. Just not as much flavor as I had anticipated from reading the reviews. My Egg Foo Young came out with perfect timing just as I pushed my soup bowl away. It was a HUGE order, and looked perfect. Brown gravy and Fried Rice were served along side. The Fried rice looked delicious, and I started with that because the Egg Foo Young was still extremely hot. I would have their Fried Rice again in a heartbeat. They were generous with the bean sprouts and green onions, and there was a nice amount of broccoli stir fried in. It also had peas, onions and carrots. The rice was nicely cooked too. It did need a bid of soy sauce but that was easy to fix. When the Egg Foo Young cooled enough for me to eat it, regardless of how wonderful it looked, it was a little bid heavy. It is still the best Egg Foo Young Ive had in Arizona. Both the Egg Foo Young and the brown gravy needed soy sauce to perk them up. The Egg Foo Young was LOADED with chicken, shrimp, chicken, pork and veggies, and the oiliness of the patties was offset by how thick and loaded with ingredients each patty was. The oil did not saturate them. Although is wasnt quite what I had expected, I would order it again. If I were back on the east coast, I would have rated this 3 stars. I gave it 4 because it was superior to what Ive had here in Arizona over the 16 years Ive been here. As I ate, the steady stream of take-out and delivery orders continued. No one appeared to have to wait for their food any longer than it took to pay for it. I want to return to try some of the other dishes on the menu. Perhaps tonight just wasnt their best night, but it was good enough. They only deliver within 5 miles of the restaurant. I had planned to have it delivered, but I was 2 miles too far away.

This was my go to place for fantastic Chinese food. The owners were from Queens NY. My husband and I went in Last night for dinner and I ordered the usual chicken chow mein. It came out really spicy, (this dish does not have any spice to it) I went up to the gentleman & told them nicely that it was spicy & they both looked at me & thought I was crazy & said that no, theres no spice in it. They both turned to each other and talked about me while I was still standing there. Meanwhile, I looked in the back to see if I could see if anybody looked familiar. Nope! They mustve been under new management. As we were eating, people who called in their orders, came to pick them up. Out of 4 orders, 2 of them "got lost". This place is a joke now.

Saw the reviews and decided to try it. Not flamboyant or fancy, but good food. It was a Wednesday night and the place was full of people picking up orders, so that tells you something. The service is what I really want to talk about. The woman in front of me was ordering several entrees and appetizers and had the cashier run down the ingredients and prep for each item and then customized all of it. Seriously took almost 10 minutes to take her schizoid/OCD order. The cashier was very patient, and kept a polite smile on her face the whole time. They handed out snacks to people as they waited for their orders... nice touch. I will be back.

Quiet little restaurant specializing in take out food. I ate in so the egg foo young would be fresh and chrispy around the edges. I wasnt disappointed. I was served fried noodle chunks while waiting (surprise). The egg foo young was just how i like it and had plenty of meat all cooked together, not just put on top like so many others do. Gravy a little weak, needed more robust flavor but all in all the foo was pretty good. Last week i got beef with garlic sauce and triple delight, both good but not great. Shrimp were oversized and delicious! Give them a try, better then most!

I have never dined in, and honestly never even seen the place. But when I first moved into the apartment I lived in they left a leaflet menu on my door. The food is really good American Chinese, never greasy and for being delivery, its always hot and fresh. I order from them all the time and they are always nice and sweet on the phone and the delivery people are just as nice too. The only thing that can be a pain is the delivery time, I have had it come from anywhere between 20 minutes to a hour and a half, but for the great service besides that, its best delivery I have had.

Dont waste your money!!Ordered delivery and tried to substitute rice for chowmein and the lady told me "we dont do that" when we finally got our food it was horrible.. my girlfriend got a bone in her general tsos chicken and my chow mein was hardly chow mein at all.. just veggies and chicken.. I even called back to tell them it wasnt good and the manager even argued with me

Its your average Chinese food. Last time I ordered one of the lunch specials with the shrimp, there was hardly any shrimp in the bowl. Mostly vegetables with rice. Crab rangoons are good. Wonton soup was really bland. They deliver to my area which is why I choose them. Some days food is good. Sometimes I feel I got jipped.
