Horrendous. I do not say that lightly. I would say having worked in customer service, I tend to be more forgiving than most when things dont go "right." However, this place was over the top horrible. I would say the waiter was probably the worst aspect of the experience. He was obnoxiously rude, and very clearly hated his job (HELLO- get a new one then!). The food wasnt the worst- but definitely below average in quality. Ive heard "their hippie hash is the best," but I dont like that kind of thing, so that is lost on me. Everything was terribly dirty; the tables, the restaurant, the silverware, the grill. I saw a guy cooking inside repeatedly wipe sweat off of his forehead with his bare hands and then proceed to continue cooking and touching the food he was prepping. I didnt dare venture into the bathroom. All of these things would usually annoy me, but if the food is at least alright, I tend to rate places at a 1-2 out of 5. Given the environment and the service, I would give this place 0 out of 5 stars if that was an option. If Im looking to grab something to eat late at night in the future, Id sooner go to a fast food joint (which is saying a lot, as I havent been to one in years) or go hungry. When it came time to pay the bill, the waiter acted like I was inconveniencing him by asking for the check. When I finally got it, I went inside to pay it, only to be ignored for another 15 minutes. The whole experience was ludicrous.

Avoid at all costs. My waitress actually threatened me, and there are rather large roaches in the bathroom, to boot. I am a mild mannered medical student and I entered the diner with a group of 10 friends. I visited the bathroom before sitting down. When I returned, there was no seat for me, so I asked the waitress for another chair. She told me that since one member of my party was not ordering food, I would not be given a seat, and I would have to tell this person to leave and take his seat. Needless to say, I was offended at this assertion, and by the rude manner in which the server addressed me. I pulled up a chair after she left so I could order some food, and when the waitress noticed me, she came back and actually threatened to have me forcibly removed for sitting at my own table! I am not one for confrontation, so I left. As a native of New York City, I am used to rude service. This is the first time in my life that my server actually threatened me, despite my calm and polite demeanor. In addition, if you are foolish enough to eat here, take a close look behind the toilet in the bathroom. I noticed roaches as well as some apparent mouse/rat droppings. I have no idea how this place stays in business, I assume it is only a matter of time until the Health department shuts them down. So if you are looking for a vermin-infested restaurant with the worst service possible, you will absolutely love it here. Bon appetit!

Im gonna start by saying the Fleetwood Dine was a huge surprise. I was at the University of Michigan for work, so when it came time for lunch, I put the Fleetwood in my GPS and went looking for a neighborhood diner. What I found was this great little shack located just off downtown. I actually drove by it twice cussing at my GPS because I couldnt find it. It was hidden behind a delivery truck. I had eaten at the sister restaurant in Lansing and was expecting the same thing. The food was the same, but the atmosphere was totally different. The size is ridiculous. In the entire restaurant, there are 6 tables and less than10 stools at the counter. I was by myself, so took a seat at the counter and the waitress asked if I needed a menu. I did, but I really didnt. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a coke. It took about 10 minutes for the lone cook working the flattop just on the other side of the counter to send my order up. The waitress got sidetrack with some punks who came in wanting to start trouble, but still was able to not neglect her other customers. My bill was a little over $7 and in less than a half hour, I had a decent meal. The burger was nothing special and the fries were out of the bag...it was classic diner grub in a truly classic...and unique diner.

You should already know right away if this is your kind of place. If your idea of a good diner is Dennys, this isnt your place. Its the perfect place for a 2am hangover. Try the hippie hash. Just do it. Its delicious. Get it meaty or with tempeh if youre really hungry. I dont often stop by, but when I get a craving its good to know I am always welcome at all hours of the night and day... (conveniently located near the Blind Pig). I dont understand the staff comments from other reviewers. Ive never once thought they were rude or gross. Theyre just nonchalant, busy doing their job. People who need to feel catered to and babied, maybe try somewhere else.

this is a greasy spoon. no doubt about it. Its clean, but its a diner. Youre not here to eat off the floor, youre here to eat really good food. However its one of the local places like blimpy that you should experience at least once. Big heaps of food are perfect for post cycling rides and just for people watching. Their claim to fame is Hippie Hash. chopped onions, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, melted feta mixed with traditional potato hash. Its great. seriously a great balance of ingredients. add in corned beef. and omg so good. they have gyro meat fresh and ready to cut and its good as well. but go for the hippie hash. you wont be disappointed.

Server Was nice. Refill came fast Menu said only one refill on pop( Coke/Pepsi) I was disappointed to see a limited on Fountain drinks, but with that being said, I was offered a second refill so idk. Cheese burger 1/3lb was bland and lack taste. Fries where unfortunately frozen and not fresh cut. With that being said it was a cool place with nice people. The food was perfect for someone who was up all night partying. Kinda on the level of a Waffle house/omelet shop. meal was under $10 making this a far and Affordable Place to eat especially considering the area, and price point of the food serve around this area.

I came for the food and not to use the bathroom. The service was simple and straight forward. I was in a group of four squeezed around a single, perhaps two-by-three foot table, pasted against a wall filled with graffiti. I had a Reuben sandwich, perfectly toasted with comfortably hot slices of beef. The sandwich was cut in half making it easy for me to dip it in the Thousand Island dressing. It was heavenly tasty. The Greek salad was like-wise very tasty. I definitely will go back to eat here at my next visit to Ann Arbor. (I graduated from U of M in August 1974.) Local time 6:44 PM

I went in there for 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, and toast. The waitress was really rude and had poor customer service, like it was a bother to ask her if my order was coming soon since I had waited 40 minutes already. So the wait time to get my food was terrible. Additionally, when I got my food, my hash browns were black and like a brick, my eggs were overdone, and the "toast" was just 2 pieces of plain bread not toasted or buttered. I never received my drink that I had ordered either and she hadnt come to check on us.
