Let me first state that this was my 1st time at thai basil and i only ordered the "Mongolian Beef" so before i go hard on them for totally disappointing me... take that into consideration. I was extremely hopeful after reading the reviews posted by others however, if i could bring it back and get my money back i really would... Charging $12 for the amount of beef i was given is really outrageous... but i could have overlooked that had it tasted good... unfortunately there is absolutely NO flavor other than the large pieces of green onion stalk! Yes... stalk! Im really bummed out about it. I will probably never give them a second chance to put a better product out because I dont know where they could go from here. I find it difficult to believe I just happened to pick the wrong item when its pricey compared to the rest of the menu... if you decide to give them a shot... and you know how mongolian beef should look and taste, do yourself a favor and pick something else.

I am so happy we tried this place. While the outside may leave a bit to be desired, the inside is clean and inviting. The service was absolutely phenomenal. Even towards the end of our meal when it got very busy the wait staff was very attentive to our needs. They even were accommodating and doting even for my toddler son. Two ladies made him a special treat bag before we left with all sorts of goodies. But lets get down to it, the food. The food was so amazing! I cannot get over how fresh and delicious our meal was. We had their pad thai which was so perfect I could eat it every meal for the rest of my life. They even added spice to it for me because I love my food spicy. Also, for desert we had the fried bananas and ice cream which was absolutely divine. I look forward to coming here many more times.

this was our first time to Thai basil and it was so much better than we thought it would be. we would definitely go back there again. so glad we went! the walnut shrimp was so good. someone recommended the walnut shrimp. it is tempura battered shrimp and so so yummy! the lettuce wraps were really good as well as the chicken chow mein. You must get the shrimp though! some people complained about the portion size but I think the portion size very reasonable for what you paid. the only downside was there water.. it was horrible! but they cant help it Riverton water is so gross. So just order a soda!! :)

You can get a little bit of everything here at Thai Basil. I try and stay far away from Chinese, but if I go out with my parents its nice for them to see things theyre used to. I feel like Ive tried a good portion of the menu, and I have yet to be disappointed. The pho is a great bang-your-buck item, ringing in at $8 and will feed a table of 4 comfortably. The thai dishes are all as good or better than any other Thai place Ive been to. The food comes out quickly, and the wait staff are attentive. All in all, a great addition to the south valley food scene which is sadly too often saturated with chains.

Not impressed at all. Weve been twice now to be fair. On both occasions the service was poor and the food was not great at all if you really enjoy Thai. It was difficult to get noticed to be seated, and then it was nearly impossible to get them to refill your water glass. Chop sticks? Forget it. You pretty much need to walk in the back and get them yourself. The two waiters were literally jogging around the restaurant. Much better Thai at Cafe Trang or La Cai Noodle house.

I have done take out here twice. The service is always good, I wait to order when I get there I never wait the full 30 minutes (I also dont get my food immediately which would suggest not very fresh). I have enjoyed everything we have ordered. The drunken noodles, lo mein, and general tsoswere all very good with decent portions. We have been disappointed with other Asian style food in the area. This restaurant is a little bit further from home but worth the drive.

Thai Basil in Riverton is our favorite restaurant! This is my first restaurant review, but I just need to tell everyone that my husband and I LOVE this place! My husband loves the black pepper beef, and I love all the curry dishes. The lettuce wraps are also fabulous. You cant beat the luncheon specials for price, quality, and variety. The sushi is amazing. We love the service and friendly atmosphere. Weve been here many times, and I cant wait to go back!

Ive had red curry at this restaurant a couple of times and last night I tried their Kung Pao Chicken, one of my favorite meals and it was fantastic!! Some of the tastiest Ive ever had. My son ordered the Generals Chicken and it was also perfectly made. Too often restaurants put too much batter around the chicken and over cook it. The Generals Chicken at Thai Basil has just a light coating of batter, is cooked very well and the sauce is amazing!

I eat lunch here frequently and have tried many Thai restaurants as I am a big fan. Each one has their pros and cons, but Thai Basil has some very delicious curry dishes. My favorite being the Panang Curry, though I love the others as well. I wish they would bring back the 50% off deal on their Mango Sticky Rice as that is always delicious. I love how they also have Chinese dishes available for those who may not have a liking for Thai.

We stopped at the Thai Basil for a late lunch. There were not a lot of people there. We got a lot of different food. I got the chicken lettuce wraps for an appetizer and my girlfriend got a bento box. I also got Massaman curry. The food was good, I think Ill be coming by again. They had Sushi, but it seemed to be more of a afterthought at the Thai Basil. Id much rather get MidWestern Sushi at Sushi place rather than a Thai place.

Thai Basil is a great Restaurant. Its family owned and run, with exceptional service, and exceptional food. Are you a fan of curry? Their Thai style curry is the best I have ever tasted. I have yet to find a restaurant serving curry as good as Thai Basils. Not a curry fan? Thai Basil also serves staple American-Chinese dishes. (Sweet and sour, General Zoa, Bon Bon, and Orange Chicken/Beef) I will always recommend Thai Basil!

I was warned against this restaurant, but their green curry tasted normal (i.e. good) to me both times I had it. However, I just tried their red curry today and it is probably the worst-tasting curry I have ever had of the many varieties Ive tasted. A little too sweet and tasting vaguely of fry sauce or something similar. I might come again for the green curry, but if trying new menu items is hit-and-miss, I wont do that here.

When we got here as the first group of the day there was a very strong weird odor in the restaurant. It kind of smelt like diaper wipes and sewage. The next group in a few minutes behind us was also discussing the odd smell. The food was pretty good though, although I would have liked just a little bit more. I would go back, but if that smell is there again I wouldnt return for a 3rd time.
