This place is pretty good. The restaurant is hidden behind another business so you have to go around to find it. Its also kinda small and has about 6 tables maybe less if theyre joined together, so Id recommend placing your order ahead of time otherwise if its full you have to stand around, and its hard to know if there will be a lot of people or not. We went and in 20 mins it went from all tables taken to all tables empty. As we left all tables were taken again. They also have a table outside. The food is amazing. I usually order the Fattboy on Texas Toast with bacon. I recently tried there onion rings, and although onions are the one thing I never eat they were pretty good. It can be a bit pricey since everything is separate, there are no combos. But the regular sized orders for the sides are big enough for two people, wether its the onion rings, mushrooms, or fries. The drinks are separate as well, $3 for a large. Will definitely return for the burgers, still need to try the hotdogs!

Did a fattchick and slim fry. The chick is always great. I come here several times a year for a fattboy burger cooked midrare or a fattchick (the fattdog is worth skipping). Burger is usually great although 50/50 on if it is well done well versus the midrare I request. The fattchick is always a winner and the marinade they use to prep these chicks is legendary and keeps the chick moist inside. Also the hand cut fries are as good as anywhere else that has good hand cut fries, although sometimes a tad starchy like on this visit. The building itself is a dive and the lack of air conditioning in San Antonio can make this a rough choice given the weather. So a 5 star chick and 4 star fries and burger. Only 3 star environment due to lack of air conditioning. So overall I rate 4 stars since this is the one time I always feel good about doing a fattchick.

Great hole in the wall. First, you will miss it and then circle back to find it behind the convenience store. Second, portion size. The small is a waste if time for anyone able to feed themselves so go medium or large for 2 adults. Third, food. Burgers were fine but dont forget to choose your bread since most of our group didnt know about that until after. Fries are that larger fry size the are easy great and soggy. Id suggest the rings which are large rings. The mushrooms are huge and very, very tasty so if you like those this is a great place for the.. The secret highlight is the order of fried pickles. I love pickles more than most foods and this place has the best Ive tasted in years! The pickles have the perfect pickle to batter/breading and are crunchy to the taste.

In the midst of the worlds lamest big city lies this diamond in the rough. In a city plagued by chain restaurants and unoriginal people, fatboys serves as a friendly reminder that there is hope and color in the world. After asking five locals about some of their favorite local restaurants we discovered that these people were zombies. They answered with, "uh theres a cicis down the road... whataburger is pretty good". Kind sir, I did not ask where the closest chain restaurant is. I asked for a hole in the wall, original, delicious, and family run restaurant. Thanks to google, we found fatboys. Go to fatboys for the only original and sincere thing in San Antonio. It will be the only thing you dont regret about visiting or living here.

For starters was very pricey but i see why, the fatty-burger was heaven and i got it with mushrooms and avocado sadly to say that they put the mushrooms on the side of a "Second order" of mine than on the burger i said to put it on but overall was good but the fries however could have been a little bit more crispy had slight soggy feel to it than a nice crispy feel to it. PS. When ordering To-Go make sure you be very specific on when you want to pick-up your order cause i had to wait an additional 15 minutes after i said to pick up at a 1:30pm so i didnt get my order till 1:45pm. Counter girl had a slight attitude when i approach her to pick up my order!! Dont know how i feel about the environment but the burgers are Good!

The slim 1/4# burgs are very tasty. They are all fresh ground. Cant wait to try THE Fatboy 1/2#er. Do add the cheddar cheese you will be in for a thick cheesy surprise:) All the staff including the cook greeted us, made sure our order was just right and the cook came out to make sure he cooked it up right and thanked us! The decor is just right ala visiting local Austin digs. Finally a place San Antonio can be proud of. Small fry order will feed 3 comfortably and fresh made. Onion rings are also fresh cut, battered and fried. I am looking forward to taking the rest of my family and my buddies to get some more great food! Keep up the great work!

2/12/17 I have been wanting to go to Fattboy Burger for weeks. What a disappointment, all the reviews over 1 star are fake. $25 for a bacon cheese burger, chili cheese fries, fried pickles and a drink. The burger had no taste, I assume because it was microwaved, the fries were microwaved as well and the drink was $2 for a cup the size of a salt shaker. The business was poorly maintained, I could only imagine how dirty the kitchen is. sad, sad, sad. TIP: If you want to stay in business use good ingredients, hire people that dont microwave the food, lower your prices, and hire people that actually care about their job.

Went to this place based on the reviews. It was ok...the big thing about the place is everything is an upsale. Sort of like 5 guys...had a 1/2 lb bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. It looked awesome (see pic), I was excited as I make badass burgers at home so I like checking out the competition. Unfortunately this wasnt it...bread was dry, and the meat was ordinary...definitely wasnt worth the $18. I would recommend Wiseguys near the airport. Its not a dedicated burger joint, but they have them and the sandwich I had there was AWESOME and reasonable. Im confident the burger would be better than Fatboys

The Fattboy 1/2 lb burger with bacon so thick it could be its own sandwich! Everything, save for the buns (which are awesome), is made in house! The beef for the burger is so very fresh, like ordered from a butcher, as is the very thick cut, amazingly delicious bacon! The cheese is then added as a melted dome of goodness! This place was recommended by a friend, I had no idea I was about to discover my new favorite burger joints in SA. Next try will be their 1/4 Hebrew National Fattdog, to which you can add their amazing bacon and melted cheese!

tl;dr: Turn down Mink Dr. Fattboy behind Diamond. Food is stellar! The Google Maps navigation is off just a tiny bit. It says you have arrived but on the side of the road its supposed to be on is a Diamond FoodMart. Fattboy is behind that store. You have to turn down Mink Dr. The actual food was amazing. I got the friend pickles and they are just the way I like them. Light batter that isnt overly mealy. We got a huge portion. The burger was delicious. So much awesome cheese. I would definitely eat there again if I ever come back to San Antonio.
