My family grew up in this area, and when I was little and Guido was still the owner, he would let me go behind the bar and fill my own pop up. For me it was more the memories than the food that I loved. Now that he passed away, and there is a new owner, I really dont have a reason to go there. The pizza is very different, and its not necessarily bad, but its not that great. If you are heading to Congress, skip the normal pizza and get the pesto pizza or Mexican. Great atmosphere, but the food isnt special.

Without a doubt the best pizza place in the U.P.! The homemade pizza dough and sauce is perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Ive eaten pizza from a lot of different places in the area and I can honestly say this place has the absolute best pizza around. Anyone finding themselves passing through Ishpeming needs to stop at The Congress!

We had a works pizza and the flavor was bland. The sauce had no flavor and the crust was overcooked. The toppings seemed like they were prepared a week ago. I would rank them at the bottom of the list after a burnt frozen pizza that i made once that had more flavor than this.

It has been absolutely packed this weekend -- and the owner and employees have done an absolutely amazing job serving customers in a timely basis!!! Still the BEST pizza you can find -- the cudighis are terrific!! An amazingly friendly and customer oriented establishment!!

The best pizza and best staff I have ever encountered. Easily the most welcoming atmosphere around. Congress is a point of pride in historic Ishpeming and, for me, a family tradition I will pass down to my kids.
