Hillstone is my favorite dinner spot in Dallas for any special occasion or just a nice treat. With a classy, timeless décor and soft ambient lighting, it makes every occasion a little more intimate. The waitstaff do an incredible job at staying professional yet personable, and their team works together to make sure that every guest is taken care of. Once youre seated, youll be greeted by a relatively small menu, but dont let that fool you - everything on their menu is absolutely to die for. Theyre known for their Hawaiian Ribeye and their off-menu Chicken Tenders, but if you cant decide, your server can recommend their best options. All in all, Hillstone is a fantastic steakhouse with a warm, rich atmosphere, fantastic food and service, and a menu that can appease even the pickiest of eaters. Availability Note: Hillstone is often buzzing for dinner service, so be sure to make a reservation on their website, unless you want to wait up to two hours. Also, be aware that they have very few seating options for parties of five or more. If you did want to bring more than four guests, they dont accept reservations; those parties are seated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tips: -With your steak, be sure to ask for a side of their au jus, which they stew for over 24 hours with fresh vegetables and seasoning. -Order a piece or two of their Texas toast, which comes on fresh-baked bread and Texas honey. -If your entrée is served with a side that just doesnt excite your appetite, ask your server what they can substitute for it; theyre always happy to make sure you get the best meal you can get!

Very nice polite staff. Everyone is professionally dressed. Very good service. Food done very nicely as well. So why the downgrade? Its not inexpensive. Portions are reasonably small for the price attached. I have no problem paying for a meal. But the numbers are very high for what you get. The menu is stuck in the 80s. Things like teriyaki steak and apple crumb pie - even though well done, dont mirror the elegance and sophistication of the restaurant and staff. The thing that bothered me the most - was the cheapness of certain things. We ordered a few club sodas to start our meal, and out came a couple of small twistoff schwepps. Which means you have to pay for each one, every time. Its like youre at a cash only chinese food or taco place. A place that doesnt have fountain drinks. Doesnt mirror a place where you see Bentleys in the parking lot and paying upwards of $100-175 easily for a couple. Some may say the restaurant is a classic, and thats fine. I would prefer to call it a dinosaur, and if it doesnt change, evolve or atleast do minor updates - it will end up suffering from its lack of mirroring the times we are in.

The first time Ive visited this resturant. The atmosphere was wonderful, i ordered their pineapple glazed ribeye rare with a garden salad and loaded baked potato. The salad was perfect, i never have croutons and i forgot to ask them to not add them and im glad because they were home made buttery and a soft center. Then the appetizer was dropped off, spinach and artichoke dip and the flavor was outstanding! My steak was brought and as i cut it open i found it to be cooked perfectly and was the best steak Ive ever tasted. I did not know that that food could taste that good! I will definitely be back.

This is probably one of my top 5 restaurants in Dallas. Ive tried just about every item on the menu. I like low level lighting in restaurants so I love that about Hillstone. The bar area can be loud but its not a big deal, you cant hear it in the main restaurant. Must haves: Crispy oysters (appetizer). Hawaiian rib-eye. Flying tuna platter. Everything on the menu is excellent, but these are what I keep going back to time and again. They also make a mean margarita on the rocks for you margarita lovers. Cheers!

We go here on special occasions because it is expensive. Previously, I had nothing but good things to say about the restaurant. However, they seem to have changed ever so slightly, and not for the better. Prices are still high but the quality of my prime rib was not up to my expectations from previous visits. Also, the spinach dip had more cheese and large artichoke pieces in it than it had before. The Hawaiian rib-eye was very tasty, but somewhat chewy... and for $38, that was unexpected.

I went here with a friend for dinner. When it came time to pay, we both put our cards down to split the check. A few minutes pass-by and our waitress comes to say that my magnetic strip will not swipe, I said thats fine, just type it in. Instead of doing so, she refused and my friend had to pay for my meal because I did not bring an alternate form of payment. The whole experience was rather embarrassing, what brothers me is that there was an easy solution.

A great dining experience for families, professional meetings, or a night out. Hillstone provides a classy, relaxed atmosphere and yet at the same time is very professional and timeless. All the waiters are knowledgeable of the menu and dressed sharp. The bartenders can make a mean Manhattan, and are equally as knowledgeable of the drink menu. The prices are higher than most restaurants, but I think its worth it.

Our service was OK however my server, a young female, I believe her name was Michelle, appeared to be out of it... She slurred many words, raised my guests eyebrows and was clearly not interested in our experience, or our preferences. Food was great, but service killed it. Great food is around, service is a skill that some have not yet acquired... Sad, really. I wont be back, let alone for a business dinner.

Incredible atmosphere, accented with incredible decor and live pianist. Loved that every table was a booth. Our server, Amanda, was incredibly knowledgeable, considerate, and on top of our every need. Both my date and I ordered the Hawaiian rib-eye which was nothing short of pure joy to consume. The baked potato side came split deep and filled over the brim with the top with the toppings.

I absolutely LOVE Hillstone, definitely one of the best restaurants in Dallas, if youre looking for fine dinning, specifically for American cuisine then Hillstone is the place to be. I specifically love the fried chicken sandwich for lunch with the spicy mayonnaise, and for dinner the roasted chicken is perfection!

The crispy chicken sandwich at lunch is fantastic. Hands down, the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. The smoked salmon appetizer was also delicious. I love the atmosphere at the restaurant, too. The menu is a little pricey, but if you want to splurge, definitely recommend this place. Will return again.

Great food, great service. Like clockwork. The only negative is the word has been out for years, and it gets very crowded. Show up at 11:30am for lunch, and as early as you can for dinner. You will not be disappointed. The French Dip au jus is fabulous, and their straw fries call to me late at night.

Pretty good food. Excellent service. The serving sizes are so big you could feed two from on plate. But I guess for the price youd expect that much food. The service was terrific. The wait staff was always one step ahead of us. The meal courses were perfectly timed and my glass was never empty.
