We recently relocated to Dallas area and have been trying different restaurant close to home. We have found some great ones but “Woodlands American Grill” is not one of them. The young lady at the front greeted us very friend. We waited about 30 minutes for table which is no huge deal since we did not have reservations. Once we did get seated we were seated right in front of the kitchen. Since this is a newer restaurant I am shock any one has to sit by the door of the kitchen. Lots of wasted space and definitely the wrong layout for the space. This leaves customers sitting by the kitchen with waiters hanging out around the corner against your back. Once seated we were greeted promptly by our server. I asked several questions in regards to different entree on the menu. Based off his opinion I ordered our appetizer entree and bottle of wine. Our calamari was okay nothing to rave about. (A little chewy and not very crisp.) Presentation was a little to be desired. It was wrapped in a dinner napkin fold. My wife had a dish that was presented well but had no taste. Pretty but no substance! Again my dinner came out in a dinner napkin for presentation. What’s up with the dinner napkins? Less is always more in any situation. Again my food was soggy and no flavor. We also order a bottle of wine and since I was not familiar with any of their chardonnays I told him what I was looking for in taste. Wrong again. I requested something on the dry side and the bottle I left up to him was very sweet. Once we received our entree our waiter disappeared until he was back to put the dessert menu in front of us. We declined. Almost forgo, if you do go to this restaurants watch out for the different types of floor surfaces. Very easy to trip on just walking to your table. I will not be back. Note for two people we spent about 125.00 with cocktails.

This was also my first Kaiseki experience, and it was awesome! All the food was absolutely delicious, with ingredients & preparation methods I hadnt even seen before - and Ive eaten a lot of food in my life, haha. The service was phenomenal, really friendly and not at all pushy, she explained everything very well and it felt very special without being too fussy, which is just how I like it. It was also a great value considering the amount of work & care put into each dish, and the quality of the ingredients - really lovely sashimi for example, including uni from Japan that tasted so light and delicious I think itd make an uni lover out of anyone. We opted to add the Wagyu beef course for an additional $20, and if youre a beef lover I think itd be well worth it - it was the most tender beef Id ever had that still maintained a savory flavor. Definitely left feeling satisfied in every way, and Im looking forward to going back again!

This is the simply best restaurant I have found in all of Dallas (over a span of 15 years) We go there once to a few times per year and have sampled most of the menu. Everything, without exception, tastes like perfection. The seafood is garnished masterfully, the beef and steaks are clearly the pick of the town, and the salads are incredible. The atmosphere is very classy, and their center bar has an endless waterfall that is a gorgeous piece of art. Whether youre wearing khaki shorts and a polo shirt, or a full suit and tie, it fits all occasions. (I think they divide the 3 main seating areas by such which is nice because you never feel overdressed or underdressed) At the end they serve these chilled, mixed chocolates, with cranberries. Absolutely perfect.

Close to our home, friendly clean professionally friendly staff. Nice waterfall design backdrop to the bar/entrance. Crab Cake Eggs Benedict along with fruit and potatoes a delight, the capuccino brought a smile to my wifes face and her trout was well prepared and presented. This was our first visit and we will return. Looking forward to the half price wine by the glass night on the smokers patio out back.

Great place for a business lunch if your not in a hurry. The service is usually relaxed aka on the slower side. The food is good, but prices are on the higher side (no points for value here). I enjoy the steak salad, and caprese chicken sandwich most often. I would suggest making a reservation as there can often be a 20-30 minute wait, even at lunch. Again ideal place for a relaxed business lunch.

Excellent choice for a great dinner. The food was delicious. I was with a large group (19 people) for business. Everyone commented on how good their food was. Iris was our waitress and she knocked it out of the park. The only waitress for the table and she was on top of drinks, tickets, everything. Not to mention all of our entrees came out at the same time, all hot and fresh. Will definitely go back.

The food was probably a 3 star. That said, service was excellent and every employee was cordial and said hello. Also $2 bloody marys and mimosas for brunch is a great deal. All things considered a good 4 star. We will be back to try out dinner some time.

We have been coming here for 1.5 yrs and found it by accident. OMG, the food is amazing, and unique. Every dish is truly a work of art. The presentation is wonderful, food is delicious, and wait staff is very friendly. Love this place.

Come here for both the food and the service. I went here for a special night out and was very taken care of by our waitress from the wine selection to the explanation of the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My wife likes their happy hour martinis on Fridays, so we usually end up having dinner there as well. Their sweet potato fries with lemon aioli is to die for, and a personally think they have the best fish & chips in town.

It was great food, a little on the expensive side. I ordered the grilled salmon( which was wanderful) but did not come with many vegetables. It was a one time experience for me.

A bit inconsistent in both food and service. I find it better for lunch than dinner but a very good choice for a neighborhood place.

Very good although Filey mignon was a bit stringy and dry. I would go back. If possible, definitely avoid lunch time rush.
