Out of just about all of the Indian restaurants in the DFW area, this one is probably the best I have dined at. The food is very authentic Northern Indian. The prices are incredible for the flavor and quantity that you receive. The servers greet you, seat you and serve you immediately. No long wait time for your food as I have found at most all other Indian restaurants. I have waited up to 30 minutes for appetizers and up to 1 hour and 15 minutes for entree, which is completely unacceptable. The facility is extremely clean, the silverware is clean, plates are clean, glasses are clean, you are served with hot plates. The servers are friendly, smiling, always happy to assist you and serve you. They know the menu forward and backward, and they are not even Indian, which in and of itself is impressive. I will no longer have to travel to MacArthur Blvd again in search of my favorite dishes, the perfect spot is right here in Plano!!! Thank you Thank you. I have only been living here for 2.5 weeks, but have traveled here for months, always dinning at Indian restaurants on MacArthur. Not anymore :-) Angela F. de Rodriguez

We had opportunity to work with Maharaja to cater event at location ~one and half hour from Dallas. The event size was about 1300 people. We couldn’t be happier with the effort put in by the catering team, the quality of food and the overall experience working with Maharaja. Right from the time we engaged with them when looking for a restaurant to cater the event, the experience was excellent. The team was very professional, gave us great advice from their past experiences, supported all our queries in timely fashion and also worked with us closely so we could meet our quality and price target. Also, the commitment the team showed on the day of evet was outstanding. The director of marketing for the restaurant was on the site throughout our event to ensure all aspects were covered. She also brought additional help, free of cost to us, to make sure the surge in activity during the peak lunch hour was covered. She herself got involved in various aspects of the catering to make sure our event was a success. I highly recommend Maharaja for their service, food quality and professionalism. Cheers!

Unfriendly host! We stopped by at 7:30 for dinner on wednesday (Diwali) night and the place was busy. One of the cleaners asked how many people and we were 5 of us. He said ok and walked away when a person who looked like the owner walks up and asks us how many. We say 5. He points at a couple of tables which could seat 4 and as a matter of fact says sorry we dont have place for 5. Instead of could you pls wait or let me see what i can do. This is not hospitality and especially on Diwali night - an important indian festival for which he did not even wish us when he walked up. For such service, i will take my business elsewhere and say the same to others. Very un-friendly and non-hospitable host clearly!!

I have been a customer of this restaurant For many years and would rate them as the BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT in Dallas.... Why would I say this ? Well for one the owner Surinder makes one feel at home and gives fantastic personal service. .. The food is by far the tastiest Ive ever had and furthermore on the rare occassion that It was not perfect surinder or Hortensia his number 1 assistant would fix any issue.. They are usually so busy that its hard to get a table ....this speaks volumes about a place. . In closing I recommend you take your friends and family to this place becausr its an unforgettable experience! !!

There are two types of Indian food. The authentic kind and the Westernised version. Having spent a lot of time in India I much prefer the latter. I come originally from the UK and most of the Indian food we eat is like the food in the Maharaja. I like it. British restaurants are owned by families that are mostly second generation and the food has been adapted for local tastes. The first time I went to Gujurat in India I looked for dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala and Popadoms but couldnt find them on the menu. In my view this is great food, whatever you call it.

I go here regularly for lunch. Their buffet is hard to beat. The taste and diversity of their food is great. Since Indian food isnt my background, I usually only want the buffet to try everything. Brought my kids as well and they loved a good bit of it, which was a surprise to me. As for the person who gave it one star, Id be interested in knowing what they compare it to? Ive tried 2 other indian food restaurants and neither are as consistent or flavorful...

This is the ugliest most HORRIBLE Indian food I have EVER eaten.... And trust me, coz I am Indian. It was the most bland food, with no flavor what so ever. If you are Indian & know what Indian food is, dont waste your money here at this FAKE INDIAN Restaurant.... The owner was standing at the bar & talking to another person in Hindi loudly...........They have no clue what is customer service & ambiance. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY & TIME

Maharaja catered food for my daughters wedding on April 6, 2013 at Sikh Temple of North Texas, Garland . Food was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. Surinder ( owner) and his staff did better than promised job to us and they were very helpful in all aspects. I will recommend them to anybody looking for food catering service.

This is the first indian restaurant that I went to. In the past, they would have goat curry which is very popular & the reason why people come here for it until they didnt make it anymore since goat is expensive. Ever since, the business isnt doing well like usual. Other than that, the rest of the food, decor, & service is great.

We were here for lunch and the food is horrible . I tried chicken tandoori , butter chicken, roti , lamb sheikh kebab . The buffet looks good in pictures but the food taste is bad . I have been to many Indian restaurants around and trust me this place is the worst .you can smell turmeric in pulav, raw masala smell in all meat .

Decided to try Maharaja Indian Cuisine with my family tonight. We were so pleasantly surprised! Their buffet has a really great variety of dishes, and it was constantly being refreshed. We sampled the fish pakoras (DIVINE), chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and veggie pakoras. Great food, great value for money too.

It sucks!! We went here to try out the buffet over lunch and we were disappointed. The taste of the curries was not. Helper didnt bring the fresh bread to our tables. Sweet Dish way out of wack. Gulanm Jamun was like rubber balls. Its a waste of money. I would rather prefer to go to other buffet places
