Im in Meriden on contract work, visiting from Atlanta. I love Indian food, so I found that this was one of two Indian restaurants nearby and went to this one tonight. Let me just say, the food is great ! Ive eaten lots of Indian food across the country and I wasnt expecting too much in "Meridan", but I was really suprised when I got back to the hotel and opened the containers. I had the Chicken Karahi and two Chicken Naan rolls and some pea rice. VERY GOOD ! Now....the only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because of the rudeness of the woman working behind the counter and also as a waitress. When I approached the counter I said hello to her, she looked at me and walked away. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes until the man in the kitchen came out and greeted me. The food was not quite ready so I went to my car and waited for 5 minutes and returned. Once again, I approached the counter and this woman just acted as though I was invisible. I originally thought that maybe there was a language barrier and she did not know what "hello" meant, but I saw her smiling and talking to other people in English, so I just chalked it up to her being a horrible employee. Other than that, yes I liked it, and I will return....just wont bother trying to ask her for any help.

The worst worst worst place I have ever been. We came on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and noticed lunch buffet had only non veg. I am a vegetarian and the guy in the counter said they would be able to serve veg Ala carte. So my husband went ahead with buffet . I was waiting waiting waiting for 30 mins and no one came to take my order. We tried to get the attention of the waitress to take the order .We asked for a paneer dish and she said she needs to check if they have paneer and she disappeared and came back after 5 mins saying someone else will come and take our order .Now the waiting timer started again .The restaurant was nearly empty with just two table occupied .We called the waitress after 10 mins to check and she has no clue ,at this point we told her to get the bill as my husband stopped eating and wanted to pay and leave . If they have Informed they dont serve vegitarian even though menu has all items we would have gone to another place. The first guy answered our question was not even sorry when we called the owner and complained. Worst place ever. Not sure how they are servicing in food industry. I am surprised as how this place got 4.7 rating .

Ive eaten in dozens of Indian and Pakistani restaurants in both of those countries and in the US, and Roti Boti has the best food of any in this country. As one deshi couple who were dining next to me said, "Its like homemade." I was brought to the restaurant by a friend who also has extensive experience in Indian restaurants and who was raving about Roti Boti. I immediately joined in his enthusiasm and have recruited many other friends who all share my assessment. The naan is as close as it gets to coming from a Lahori tandoor. Outstanding. The haleem has won the hearts, palates, and stomachs of everyone with whom Ive dined there. I have yet to hear of any dish not be entirely satisfactory. If youre looking for a posh place with fancy menus and exquisite decor, this isnt your place. If you want to enjoy delicious, authentic food in a comfortable setting with attentive wait staff, then you cant do better.

I have been to Roti Boti couple of times and have summarized my trips below. Generally speaking it is a much better place for non-vegetarians since it is primarily a north indian/Pakistani Cusine. Thats the reason I would disagree with some comments from the vegetarians about the food. Also note that I am punjabi (i.e North Indian) and can tell the difference between decent food and the "americanized version". If you are used to the "americanized version" you may not like this place. The Good: Reasonable Prices Almost homemade touch Great non-vegetarian dishes Great Naans . The best I have had in a while The Bad: Service could be better (but then I am there for food) Too much Oil

The first time we went to RB the food was good but service was disorganised and we got somebody elses left over. The second time we went since the food was good and my kids loved the lamb Nihari .The service was pathetic and the food took more than 40 mins to come. Yesterday was the final time we are ever going to visit. The management has changed ,food was so spicy and again we never even got our 2 left overs which we never even touched. People who visit should go at their own risk-of getting a stomach upset and have lots of patience with bad service and attitude problems of the staff!!!

Used to love this place, but would always end up with an upset stomach. The last time I got food from here, after digging deep into my meal, found a hair in my food. Later that night throughout the next day was violently ill, havent been that sick to me stomach before or since. Almost went to the hospital it got so bad. Now when I think of this place, it literally makes me feel ill. I wouldnt wish how I felt on anyone, even my enemies. I dont think thier too good with thier sanitation and hygiene. That said, dont think Ill ever be going back to this place.

The buffet should be passed on. This place is best when you place an order. The quality is very high and the service by the waiters is very good. I recommend this place highly for dining in and catering needs alike. The grilled roasted chicken is authentic with all the herbs and spices. The naan and roti is fresh and so good. I have been here many times and will continue to do so. To the new Muslims to the area, I recommend you come here as the meats are halal and it is a welcoming place.

been there with my colleagues... I think its Pakistani rest ..doesnt matter...food is more or less same whether is India or Pak. We started with appetizers and it was good. We ordered typical chicken tandoori and kaba..and both were good. pakoda was good too. but the main course wasnt that tasty enough as I think if they ll prepare a/c to our taste then no American ll come. bt still, gravy of lamb gost was fabulous. I can visit once again for that gravy

Its not bad . but not clean sometime.dirty tablecloth or stained plates you may see.I think expensive 5 regular days foods. And weekend buffet cookers I think changes too often . because foods taste changes every couple of months. I recommend them to find better Chinese cooker because I love Chinese food and I go mostly only for Chinese food and soup.naan bread is very good

The Tika masala was very good and the nice gentlemen that brought my takeout helped me to my car. I would say the building could definitely use some updating and renovating as it looks very old and uninviting. I think they should also include the rice with meals like most Indian restaurants instead of charging as a separate side but overall good place.
